‘Devil’ Inside
After a pretty quite afternoon, David and I rallied and went out to the movies last night … we decided to see a new indie film that he heard about called House of the Devil. This new film was made to look like it was made in the early 80’s, complete with the same sense of careful suspense-building horror (as opposed to today’s fondness for bloody gore). I am happy to report that I LOVED the film:

Those of you who remember or are fond of horror films that build on suspense in order to scare you from the inside will LOVE this film. It’s a simple take on the horror classic formula … complete with innocent, vulnerable babysitter protagonist. You can tell that the movie director made this film with the utmost love of the genre … I was on the edge of my seat the entire way. I really don’t want to give away any plot points … I think the film works best if you just go in cold and let it take you away. If you like suspense and thoughtful story-building, I think you’ll like this film as well. If House of the Devil is not playing in your town, you can rent it from Amazon and watch it on your computer!! The film has been available on VOD since October 1.
After the film, David and I went to Pinkberry to get pomegranate fauxgurt with real pomegranate seeds:

People … if you have access to pomegranate Pinkberry, I urge you to get as much of it as you can, while you can. OY!! so good :)
This afternoon, David and I have plans to brunch with our dear friend Monique and then are headed to a party at our buddy Russ’s place. Happy weekend, y’all!!

I am so jealous! I want to see that movie SOOO bad…I’m glad you liked it! I haven’t seen a scary movie in quite awhile. I don’t like watching movies on my laptop, though.

SO glad you loved the film. I’ll be writing my review on my horror blog soon. LOVED the throwback to the 80s movie vibe. Keep an eye out for my review ; )

I don’t have a Pinkberry but I have Red Mango and they have Pomegranate, too. I actually had it for dinner last night with pomegranate seeds and yogurt chips. SO YUMMY!

I saw it last week, didn’t care for it much. Too predictable, only surprise was how early and fast the first death was. Gotta admit though, the family was creepy.

Questions for Trent –
1st of all… how can you “fake” frozen yogurt?
2nd… What does VOD stand for? Never heard of that.
3rd… Since you’re talking movies here – have you any intention of seeing “The Fourth Kind” when it hits theaters?

I’ll check back later for possible answer (if thread still active). If so, thanks in advance.

@Jessica — I totally agree!! I almost asked for just a cup of pomegranate seeds but the pomegranate-flavored fauxgurt is really tasty too :)
