Britney Spears Covers Up Down Under
Yesterday we saw photos of our dear Britney Spears making her showy appearance in Australia as she prepares for her first ever Aussie concert tour and we were given an eyeful of her disdain for bra-wearing. Today we get to see a couple more photos of Brit in Oz … but this time (happily) she is more covered up:

Look at the smile on her face … it is so great to see Britney lookin’ so happy. Now, I’m not sure how the time difference works from here in SoCal to there in Oz but I know that she performs her first Aussie concert ever tonight (Friday) in Perth, Australia. I’m not sure if the show has taken place yet or if it’s just about to but whatever the case may be, the folks in Oz are about to get their first taste of Britney’s tour The Circus starring Britney Spears. Our dear Britney will be touring Oz for the rest of the month … so enjoy her while you can ;)

@Whitney — Yesterday in Oz is today here in SoCal. Ugh, the time difference is so confusing :)

I’m from Perth, and stumbled across your blog trying to find more info about Britney’s concerts in Australia. I went to her first show in Oz this evening… and there have been very mixed responses. I personally enjoyed it as a show, but it wasn’t much of a concert.. she didn’t interact with the audience at all, just said ‘Hello Australia!’ and then got on with the show. People were more watching the video clips and circus stunts and the dancing rather than dancing and singing along with her :(

@helen — Yeah, that’s pretty much the way she performs on this tour … it’s more like a show rather than a “concert”. Her previous tours were much more interactive and “concert”-like but considering that she was in a mental hospital just last year and is this year back on the performance stage, I think she’s doing a great job. Tho, considering this show is the first taste that Aussies have of her live performance, I can see where your mixed emotions come from.

Oh Trent. Excuses, Excuses. If she can’t perform to the best of her ability, then she just shouldn’t do it at all. It’s a ripoff. If anyone else did that, you would be questioning their work ethic. How long is she going to play the mental card?

@Tracy — LOL. I think Britney Spears will be just fine no matter what anyone says about her. Love her or hate her, she will continue to rise to the top and have success.

I wonder why she’s wearing a coat and boots? It’s in the 90s here…..at least it is on the east coast of the country. Maybe it’s cooler in the west?

i am almost certain than 90% of people attending the circus tour shows in aussie will know what they are getting ahead of time, based on how much coverage her tour has received thus far
I personally cannot wait, I am going to two shows hopefully three and don’t care about crowd interaction because I know its going to be a bloomin good show anyways :)

@Tracy – You’re rude. Did you ever think that her team and record company are forcing her to do this tour? Britney is pretty much in legal prison. Yes, her father has helped her but she controls NOTHING. She has the same legal rights as a 12-year-old has. Her fault? Well, yes, but it’s been more than enough time already. She’s trying to get her kids back. If you think about it, Britney went through major scrutiny in 05-06 with her kids, then got divorced, and then 2007 came and we all know how that went, and then 2008 came to welcome her comeback, and now it is 2009 and Britney has conquered a worldwide tour which has generated more than $120 million dollars. Oh, and people know what they’re getting with ‘this’ Britney and yet her concerts still sell-out. Someone is a little jello!

Austrailians were upset she lip synched her entire concert and just danced around. LOL. Were they expecting something “more” for the hundreds of dollars they paid? She’s more of a performer than an artist anyways. She’s been that way for a while…It’s almost comical when you think of how much success she’s gotten in an industry that when she started was based mostly on singing ability (talent, ahem). Whatever, got to give it up to her anyway =)

@ Amanda – Actually, yes, people were expecting something “more” for the hundreds of dollars people paid for tickets. In Australia, when we pay $200+ for concert tickets, we generally expect a good show. So much so that the state governments are talking about forcing performers to have a disclaimer on the tickets if they’re going to lip synch instead of sing live so that people know that before they fork out hundreds to watch something that amounts to a video clip. If I’d forked out that much money to watch a lip synched concert, I’d be upset too.

Oh geebus! It’s not like it’s news that Britney lip-synchs! She’s always done it!
November 6th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
I’m from Perth and went last night knowing full well that she was going to lipsync and basically just strut around on stage. My feelings on the matter are that Britney has never been marketed as an amazing vocal talent. I like her voice obviously, but if i wanted to go see someone SING i would go to a musical or go see Celine Dion or something. If I want to be entertained, I’d much, much rather go see Britney. I love her songs, whether or not she sings them live. If she were to sing them live, honestly, it would probably detract from the show. We’re paying that money to see the whole production, the dancers, the lights, the circus performers, the pyrotechnics, to see Britney in the flesh. She was my childhood idol, so for me it was worth it. The friends that I went to the show with were saying she didn’t deserve the amount of money that she makes because she doesn’t sing. I think the fact that she has lost any semblance of a normal life, that she is scrutunised for every little thing that she does, that her personal life is all over the magazines nd newspapers like it is NEWS and ENTERTAINMENT makes up for it. It’s not her voice that entertains us, it is the whole package. Like Trent said, i’m just happy at her progress so far, considering she was intitutionalised last year.
And I’m going to see her again to night.
Go Britney.

I second debho’s opinion of why is she wearing a long cardigan and boots? I live in Perth and it has been hot the past couple of days.

i think it’s fair enough that people walked out in Perth, with the tickets being between $200 – $1500. I’m actually glad i didn’t fork out the cash now, because i can listen to her pre-recorded songs at home for free.

the remainder of her tickets (silver, gold etc) have been reduced to $50 as a “special promotional offer’. it makes you wonder just how shit she really was/is

That is a really cute outfit on our dear Brit Brit!
