Lindsay Lohan Shares Her Baby Photo On Twitter

Lil' ol' L. Lo
Friday, November 27th, 2009

Yesterday we learned that Lindsay Lohan spent her Thanksgiving holiday with her family — mother Dina Lohan, sister Aliana Lohan and brothers Michael and Cody Lohan (no room for estranged daddy Michael Lohan, Sr.) — and Lindsay herself shared with us how she spent part of her time with her family … they all were going thru old baby photos. Lindsay even posted one of her baby photos on her official Twitter profile. Here is the photo she shared and a couple of her accompanying tweets:

going through baby photos with my brothers michael and cody and ali and mikes girlfriend Nina so funny! / Baby photos!!!! Baby me!

Aww … what a cute pic! I’m glad to know that Lindsay spent her Thanksgiving with her family … it sounds like she had a great time at home with her loved ones. According to another one of Lindsay’s tweets, she’s already jetted off someplace new … but it’s nice to know that she took some time to be normal for a change.

Kevin Federline Gets A Job

Douchey is as Douchey does
Friday, November 27th, 2009

On Wednesday we saw a photo of a very slimmed down Kevin Federline and a very glammed up Victoria Prince making their grand arrival in Australia so that they can follow around Britney Spears on the last leg of her Aussie tour and today we learn some great news … K-Fed actually got a job! That’s right, for once he will actually be making money rather than leeching money from his ex-wife. It turns out that K-Fed and his ladyfriend got a gig doing an in-store appearance at an Ed Hardy store down under … which is prolly the only gig he can handle considering his skill set:

Kevin Federline has found a way to earn some money, and he’s following in Jon Gosselin’s footsteps by making it. Federline is currently in Australia while ex-wife Britney Spears tours Down Under, as the couple share custody of their two young sons. K-Fed spent his Thanksgiving morning in Brisbane making an in-store appearance at an Ed Hardy shop, along with his current girlfriend Victoria Prince. Ed Hardy is the same brand that has dressed Jon Gosselin and flew the otherwise unemployed, divorced, father of eight to the South of France with his girlfriend this summer. There was even talk of Gosselin designing kids clothes for the brand. The store appearance isn’t Federline’s only gig. The former backup dancer will appear on the upcoming season of Celebrity Fit Club, for which he has visibly slimmed down after briefly earning the moniker K-Fat.

Blech … this is just grosser than gross … but I guess at least it’s work … it’s douchey work but it’s work nonetheless. Mebbe this slimmed down and working K-Fed is a sign of things to come. Could it be that the leech has finally turned over a new leaf? I’m not really ready to believe that that is the case just yet … but at least it’s a start. After all, can you think of anything more apropos than K-Fed dressed from head to toe in Ed Hardy?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Yesterday I was very fortunate to be invited to Thanksgiving dinner (which had it’s own Twitter hashtag #drunkenthanks) at the beautiful home of friends Justine and Gary. Along with about 32 other guests, I was treated to a feast that was completely and utterly delicious. Here is a Polaroid photo of the dinner table set for yesterday’s guests:

I’m telling you, the spread was … amazing. After the jump, check out a few fun photos I snapped at dinner yesterday …

‘Rocky & Bullwinkle’ Turn 50 Years Old

Birthday Lurve
Friday, November 27th, 2009

Birthday Lurve goes out to the beloved cartoon couple Rocky & Bullwinkle who are now celebrating their 50th birthday. Now, I’m not sure how many of y’all are at all familiar with Rocky & Bullwinkle (especially since they don’t get much play these days and haven’t for some time now) but I remember watching old re-runs of their cartoon show when I was really little (as my parents were fans of the show). When I think of Rocky & Bullwinkle, I also think of shows like The Muppet Show, Ultraman and Land of the Lost … those were the shows that I would watch with my mom at night time (as opposed to shows like He-Man, Transformers, Thundercats, M.A.S.K., Go-Bots, etc. which I watched in the afternoon). It’s CRAZY to know that Rocky & Bullwinkle are now half a century old … just like Madonna!

Fifty years ago, Jay Ward’s animated moose and squirrel duo, “Rocky & Bullwinkle,” debuted on ABC, forever changing the way the world looked at animated television. His daughter, Tiffany Ward, continues her father’s legacy as executive producer of the feature films “The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, “Dudley Do-Right” and “George of the Jungle,” and Cartoon Network’s (sister channel to CNN) new “George of the Jungle” animated TV series. “My dad was a true eccentric,” Ward said. “His studio was a wonderland for me. It had a soda fountain, ice cream sundaes, a snow cone machine, a popcorn maker and candy bars everywhere.” Tiffany Ward grew up in Berkeley, California, and didn’t move to Hollywood until 1959 at age 13 when her dad set up his television studio. “Dad was always doing fun things,” Ward said, recalling a 1961 Sunset Boulevard block party her father hosted to promote “The Bullwinkle Show.” The show was originally named “Rocky and his Friends,” but was renamed “The Bullwinkle Show” when the program went from ABC to NBC. Ward was a one-man public relations machine, churning out first-rate promos in the days before PR companies were entrenched in the system. In another promotional stunt, Jay Ward tried to buy an island between Minnesota and Canada that he named Moosylvania (he leased it instead). In efforts to have Moosylvania made into the 51st state, Ward traveled cross-country by bus, collecting signatures along the way. When Ward reached the White House gates, he asked to speak to President John F. Kennedy about statehood for Moosylvania, but guards brusquely turned him away. As it turned out, Kennedy was dealing with the Cuban Missile Crisis on that exact day. Jay Ward did not have a favorite character, his daughter said, because to him it would have been like selecting a favorite child (Incidentally, Ward had three kids). Of all the characters he created, Ward didn’t have a favorite per se, but Tiffany Ward does recall his partiality to Dudley Do-Right, the slow but well-meaning Canadian Mountie. When asked about “Rocky & Bullwinkle’s” everlasting appeal, Ward said she thinks it struck such a chord and remains popular today because her father never wrote for children, he wrote for adults. Jay Ward wanted kids to enjoy the pictures while grown-ups laughed at the quick wit and inside jokes … The 50th anniversary of “Rocky and Bullwinkle” also means that spy duo Boris & Natasha, Mr. Peabody & Sherman and the Fractured Fairytales are celebrating birthdays as well. Fractured Fairytales offered a skewed take on traditional children’s stories. The moral was the same, but modern, funny dialogue was tossed in with slapstick humor. Rapunzel, for example, visits a barber shop and laments about having “no future.” “Incredible writing is the reason the show resonates to this day,” Ward said. Today, cartoons are more popular than ever. There are cable networks devoted to animation, and it is commonplace for cartoons to be written specifically for adults. Fox’s Sunday night animation domination block featuring “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy” comes to mind. “Rocky & Bullwinkle” was among the first animated series to hit prime time television. Matt Groening even paid special homage to Jay Ward when he created “The Simpsons” by giving Bart, Homer and Grandpa Simpson the middle initial “J,” as in Rocky’s full name: Rocket J. Squirrel. Tiffany Ward said she is thrilled there’s such a wide array of animation available to viewers today, especially since in her father’s era it was difficult to even get airtime for the genre. New projects are always coming the duo’s way, and an animated Dreamworks feature film is in development.

I know that Rocky & Bullwinkle are not as beloved as many other shows but I still remember and love that flying squirrel and funny-talkin’ moose. Cartoons sure are very different than they were 50 years ago but I’m happy to see that some of the classic characters from days of yore can withstand the test of time. Happy Birthday, Rocky & Bullwinkle! Here’s to 50 more years!!

Britney Spears Is Wrappin’ Up Her First-Ever Aussie Tour

She came, She toured, She conquered
Friday, November 27th, 2009

Earlier this week Britney Spears played 3 very successful concerts in Brisbaine, Australia at the Entertainment Centre and, for all intents and purposes, completed the last full leg of her first-ever Australian Tour. She has one more show to perform in Melbourne and one more to perform in Adelaide and then she will have successfully completed her Aussie tour of The Circus starring Britney Spears. Yesterday we learned that our dear Britney set a new concert ticket sales record at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Aus taking the top spot from Coldplay by selling more than 66,000 tickets over four nights … not to shabby for a performer who was plagued with some pretty harsh criticism when she arrived down under earlier this month. Here are a few photos of Britney on stage in Brisbaine as we take one last look at Britney’s tour The Circus starring Britney Spears:

Big pants are back. And Britney Spears is the rocking the look on the Australian leg of her tour. With the latest trend for underwear as outerwear hitting the high street, the 27-year-old has included big Spanx-style pants and sexy corsets into her Circus tour wardrobe. She worked a sexy geeky look, wearing large white glasses and a bowler hat with large black pants, fishnets and a black bra. She then teamed a pink fedora and white sunglasses, with a black PVC bra under a police woman’s shirt. She then wore a black waspie over pants and fishnet tights … Mother-of-two Britney also wore a jewel-encrusted corset during another track, along with fishnets. Britney is in Brisbane on the Australian leg of her tour.

I’m convinced that Britney Spears is made of Teflon … nothing of any controversial note sticks to the girl, at all! She has been to the depths of despair, seemingly destroyed her career and then a year later embarks on one of her most successful world tours ever! I will always have a huge soft spot for Britney and I will cheer her on come hell or high water. I’m so happy that her Aussie tour is ending on a pretty significant high note … I bet she is really looking forward to the end of this tour so she can return home for the holidays. Despite what her detractors will say, she has worked really hard this year and I hope she will be able to enjoy the benefits of her labor. Well done Britney, now get home safe.

Robbie Williams & Ayda Field Are Gettin’ Hitched!

According to Robbie's mum
Friday, November 27th, 2009

NME is reporting today that according to Jan Williams, mother of UK popstar Robbie Williams, Robbie and his his US girlfriend Ayda Field have gotten engaged to be wed … and that the nuptials will prolly take place very soon. Now, take this news with a grain of salt but … considering that the info is coming from Robbie’s mother, well, it might actually turn out to be true:

Robbie Williams’ mum Jan has confirmed that he has proposed to his US actress partner Ayda Field. Williams and Field were rumoured to be tying the knot after they spoke about it on Australian radio station 2Day FM earlier today (November 27), although the singer’s management stressed that they had been joking during the conversation. However, Jan Williams has now confirmed that the couple – who have been together for three years – are to wed. She told BBC Radio 5 live that Williams told her he was planning to propose about a week ago. “He’s wanted to do something different and she’s a lovely girl and I’m really pleased for them,” Jan Williams explained, adding: “I’ve got a daughter-in-law, I’ve always wanted a daughter-in-law!” She didn’t confirm whether the couple’s on-air conversation was the actual proposal or whether Williams had previously asked Field to marry him in private. Speaking about when she thought the couple would marry, Williams admitted a ceremony could take place sooner rather than later. “I don’t think it will be that far in the too-distant future, but that’s all I’m going to say on that,” she explained. Williams added that her son has already chosen a ring for Field.

The only thing that keeps me from totally believing this engagement report is the fact that Robbie Williams is a NOTORIOUS joker … it’s really hard to believe almost anything he says cuz he mostly speaks in jest, especially in interviews. That said, if Mama Williams is blabbin’ the news, it’s possible that she may know what she’s talking about. I’m gonna wait for official confirmation from the couple that they are gettin’ wed before I rush out to buy a wedding gift but … I’m willing extend cautious congratulations to the happy couple right now :)
