Just when you thought that the world has reached its limit on Twilight merchandise, another new Twilight item comes along … but in this case, the merch is unauthorized and extremely illegal. For the past few months, dime bags of Twilight heroin have been available for sale in NYC:

Here’s the kind of “Twilight” merchandise you really don’t want your kids getting their hands on — baggies of heroin with a cartoon of Rob Pattinson’s face printed on them. DEA Special Agent Erin McKenzie-Mulvey tells us the heroin baggies with “Twilight” characters were seized recently in West Hempstead, Long Island. The “Twilight”-themed baggies have been gaining popularity over the last couple of months. New York Special Agent in Charge John Gilbride tells TMZ a dime bag of heroin in New York is cheaper than a six pack of beer.

Damn, that’s some dark shizz right there. What kind of person would actually prefer Twilight heroin over regular heroin … wait a minute, forget I asked, I don’t really want to know. This kind of thing is so sick … but not new at all. I recall from my younger days hearing that ecstasy pills were emblazoned with popular characters of the day … like Pikachu the Pokémon, the various Teletubbies and other like characters. I assume this is meant to appeal to kids, which is just effed up beyond belief. This Twilight heroin stuff is just … wrong. What the hell is wrong with people? Besides, that cartoon of Edward Cullen looks nothing like him! WTF?

Zachary Quinto was spotted on the SoCal set of Heroes over the weekend and it looks like he was gearing up for a very exciting and possibly eye-popping scene for the show:

Here are a few cute photos of the little doll, Suri Holmes-Cruise, out and about with her mama Katie Holmes in NYC over the weekend. As you can see, Suri was rockin’ a pair of vivid bright green rubber boots for the occasion … behold:

Maybe Katie Holmes decided the close call last week was enough to put an end to her daughter wearing footwear made for grown-ups? Or maybe the recent change in the weather convinced her that wellingtons were a more practical option? Whatever the reason it was good to see that, after several outings in less-than-sensible shoes recently, Suri Cruise finally stepped out in footwear more accustomed to a child of her age. The three-year-old upped the cuteness stakes in a pair of bright green wellington boots adorned with a fairy print, complete with obligatory wings across the toes. Pictured on a shopping trip to New York’s Soho district with her mother Katie Holmes, Suri was the epitome of cute with a matching rucksack to go with her girly boots and a dark blue party dress. Katie went for an autumnal look for the Big Apple trip, wearing a double-breasted brown jacket, jeans and brown leather boots.

Suri is so cute in these photos, I guess I can almost forgive the little robot for continuing to steal my heart with her adorableness. These rubber boots are just the best … I love how bright and fun they are. Katie Holmes, on the other hand, looks dour, spent and sad as usual … poor thing. At least little Suri seems to be having a blast with her ensemble. Sooo cute!!

Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire were joined by Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson and fashion designer Christian Siriano and others at an NYC premiere screening event for their new film Brothers which was held at the SVA Theater last night. Unfortch, tho, Jake Gyllenhaal — who also stars in the film — was not in attendance at last night’s event. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals along with some deets about the movie itself:

Natalie Portman joined Toby Maguire for the premiere of their new movie Brothers in which they star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a modern take on the prodigal son parable. Portman plays Grace Cahill whose husband Sam, played by Maguire, is the model citizen, war hero and son of a combative Vietnam veteran. His brother Tommy is played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Tommy is a drunk who has recently been released from prison but when the news of the suspected death of his brother reaches the Cahill family, the delinquent brother turns over a new leaf to protect Sam’s children and wife. Tommy falls for Grace only for his brother to miraculously return from harrowing torture in Afghanistan and a battle for the beautiful Portman’s affection ensues. Focusing on political apathy for war and the troubles faced by families of servicemen, Brothers has been tipped for award success in the new year.

I only recently heard about this movie when I saw a trailer for it on TV … now that I’m learning that the film is a modern re-telling of the Prodigal Son parable, I’m even more intrigued. Despite my intense love for Jakey poo, I think this film looks really good overall (ie. I’d prolly see it even if Jake weren’t starring in it). From what I’ve seen thus far of Maguire‘s performance in the few clips I’ve seen already, it looks like his character is really … intense … and poor Nat is stuck in between the two brothers. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing this flick … despite it’s serious tone, it looks like a movie I’d deffo want to see in theaters, despite the holidays.

Britney Spears, who is about to embark on the last leg of her Australian tour, was spotted doing a bit of Xmas shopping at a shopping mall in Brisbane, Australia over the weekend where she was spied snapping up some bargains at David Jones and Review … here are a few photos:

I understand Britney was shopping for underwear at David Jones (which is very good news cuz the world has seen quite enough of Britney without her underwear) and for dresses at Review which was having a 40% off sale … not for nothing but our dear Britney knows a bargain when she sees one. It’s unclear if her purchases were for her or for her loved ones here at home for Xmas but I bet she shopped up a storm. Australia only has Britney for about a week more before she ends her tour and flies back home. I wonder where she will pop up next.

Yesterday afternoon, David flew back East to be with his friends and family for the Thanksgiving holiday and I stayed here at home to hold down the fort. Many folks have asked why I decided not to fly back with him so I figured I’d explain a bit more. The bottom line is that I’m SO over flying for right now … I did so much back and forth traveling over the Summer that I am now totally spent. I decided not to fly back with David or to Detroit this week. While I’ll prolly be going back to Detroit for Xmas, I’m really very happy being home right now.

Ryan‘s back tattoo looks like a hand holding another hand … with angel wings? I dunno, whatever it is I hope he continues to show it off cuz I don’t mind seeing Ryan Phillippe from the front or from the back. Ye gods, I love that the weather is still so nice here in SoCal … here’s hoping we get to see more pics of Ryan in various states of undress in the weeks to come. Woot!!

Last week we learned that Tori Amos played a concert at the famed Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia and over the weekend, Tori played a concert at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre: Riverside Theatre in Perth. Here are a few photos of the very beautiful Tori Amos from her Perth show on Saturday lookin’ like the goddess that she is in her floor-length silver gown:

According to fan reports from Undented.com, Tori‘s show was a more quiet and subdued one than usual. Tori kept the conversation to a bare minimum and played to a smaller, quieter audience. In my opinion, that is not a bad thing at all … the setlist she performed ran the gamut from old to new and sounded very much like one of her early concert performances (minus the Tori stories, that is). Sad news for LA Galaxy fans today … the boys in blue, gold and white ended up losing the Major League Soccer Championship due to a heartbreaking penalty shot by Real Salt Lake, the MLS Eastern Conference champs. Here are a few pics of David Beckham during the championship match last night (which very well could be his last Galaxy game ever) and some deets about the game itself:

Real Salt Lake sealed an upset win over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday night with a 5-4 penalty victory, after extra-time in the Major League Soccer Cup final that ended with the score at 1-1. Robbie Russell netted the vital spot kick after Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando made two saves and MLS Most Valuable Player, and LA Galaxy captain, Langdon Donovan sent his shot sailing over the crossbar. Salt Lake’s win at the Qwest Field arena in Seattle, ended David Beckham’s bid to claim a third national title in as many different nations, having previously won the English Premier League with Manchester United and La Liga with Spain’s Real Madrid. The Galaxy struck first, with midfielder Mike Magee drilling a 41st-minute shot into an open net. His strike came after Beckham passed to Donovan, who set-up Magee at the far post. Seattle: America’s soccer city. Real Salt Lake hit back with 25 minutes left when Robbie Findley reacted first after Yuri Movsisyan’s attempt on goal was blocked, tying the match and setting up the penalty shootout. Beckham got the Galaxy off to a good start in the shoot out as he scored with confidence, but his team could not follow in the same manner. Jovan Kirovski’s shot was blocked by Rimando, but Saunders followed by stopping the effort of Salt Lake captain Kyle Beckerman before Donovan blazed over the crossbar to leave the score 5-4. Galaxy came into the game as favorites, but flattered to deceive as it was revealed Beckham had played with an injured right ankle. “We all want to win titles and personally I’d love to be successful but I think we have been successful this year without winning tonight,” Beckham told reporters after the game. “We have quietened a few people along the way which is always nice but we couldn’t finish it off. “I wouldn’t say it’s tougher to lose on penalties but it’s Russian roulette, that’s just the way it is. It’s not a nice way to lose. The people that step up are brave enough to step up and if you score, great and if you miss it’s hard to take, but it just wasn’t our night,” Beckham added. Beckham is due to return to AC Milan in January for another loan spell as he bids to secure a place in England’s World Cup squad for next year’s finals in South Africa.

As you can see, Becks wore his sons names on his soccer boots but, unfortch, it wasn’t enough to bring him and the Galaxy good luck last night. As much as I may question Becks‘s loyalty to the LA Galaxy, it does seem as if he was really emotionally invested in last night’s game. Becks actually teared up and cried after the loss … and even more upsetting, he was apparently too sad to strip off his jersey to leave the game shirtless. Sad.
