Wooooot!! I’ve got some potential great news for Britney Spears fans!! Altho the legendary Ms. Spears just released her first-ever Singles Collection album, it is now being reported that she will also release a NEW ALBUM of NEW MATERIAL in early 2010!

Britney Spears will release the follow-up to 2008’s Circus in late spring 2010, it has been confirmed. According to her record label Jive, the singer is working towards a May release for her seventh studio album. US songwriter Sean Garrett recently confirmed that he is penning material for the new record. The 27-year-old is also expected to team up with Max Martin, who wrote previous hits including ‘…Baby One More Time’, ‘If U Seek Amy’ and current single ’3′. Spears released The Singles Collection on November 16.

Yahoo! Music has just posted a new video of a live performance by Tori Amos of the seasonal track Pink & Glitter taken from her new holiday album Midwinter Graces … here are a few screencaps from her performance:

I’m not sure if Tori plans to release traditional music videos or singles from this album so live performance videos like this might be all we can expect. The members of the band Fall Out Boy have announced today that they are going to take an “indefinite” break from “band duties”. While “taking a break” is a not exactly the same as “breaking-up”, it seems to me that it could be the first step down that path. Could the end of Fall Out Boy be near?

Fall Out Boy are set to take an “indefinite” break from band duties, their spokesperson has confirmed. Pete Wenz and the rest of the Chicago four-piece are set to step away their musical commitments within the band and have not set a schedule for any possible return. “It’s a break with an indefinite date when they’re coming back,” their spokesperson told NME.COM. The band are set to release a greatest hits compilation album, ‘Believers Never Die’, on November 30.

HMMM … while this announcement isn’t necessarily cause for alarm, the timing of this “indefinite break” (ie. after the release of a greatest hits album) seems kinda suspicious. Might the time be right for members of FOB to launch solo careers? Could the plan be for the guys to move into other directions? Pete Wentz, avid Twitter user, has been curiously silent on this announcement today … so I think I’ll hold off on making any assumptions until we hear more from the guys themselves. Even still … this news is a bit worrisome. What do y’all think … is Fall Out Boy about to be dunzo?

Oh no! It is being reported that Nicole Richie, mother of Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight, has admitted herself to the hospital after coming down with a case of pneumonia! This far there are no deets on her condition, all we know is that she has been admitted and is “doing well”:

Nicole Richie has checked herself into a Los Angeles hospital. A representative for Richie [says], “Nicole has checked into Ceders Sinai where she is being treated for pneumonia. She is doing well.” Earlier this week, a Los Angeles judge has granted Richie a permanent restraining order against two celebrity photographers who she says are harassing her. Richie, 28, appeared at the court hearing Monday afternoon accompanied by her rocker partner, Joel Madden. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson approved Richie’s petition for a three year restraining order against the paparazzi. Two weeks ago, the actress was granted a temporary restraining order after her Range Rover was rear ended at a Beverly Hills intersection, according to police. The reality T.V. actress was hurt in the crash that took place at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Canon Drive on October 5th. Richie says the driver of that car, Edwardo Arrivabene, 29, and another photographer, Ivon Emilio Melo Miguel continue to follow her and her children in an attempt to take pictures of them. Arrivabene was arrested after the crash and was booked for driving without a license. His car was also impounded. Arrivabene told KTLA that he and Miguel were entirely to blame for the accident and they were sorry. He also said that he planned to pay for any and all damages. He said the crash happened when Arrivabene tried to pick up a camera that had fallen to the floor of the car. According to Richie’s court filing, the men “scream at the reality show actress” in an attempt to get a reaction from her. She says she is frightened by the harassment and is in fear for her own safety and the safety of her children. Judge Goodson granted the orders against Arrivabene and Miguel who agreed to stay 50 yards away from Richie. Miguel apologized and said he would not take pictures of her if she didn’t want him to. Both Richie and Madden say they don’t want either man to take pictures of them anymore. Judge Goodson said she was concerned about impeding the photographers’ First Amendment rights to take pictures, but issued the order after both men said they would abide by the ruling. Richie and Madden, have two children. Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born in September and Harlow turns 2 in January.

While I’m certain that Nicole‘s legal woes are not to blame for her sudden illness I can imagine that the upsetting state of having to go to court to deal with all of this drama has been a drain on her mentally and physically. I understand that pneumonia can be pretty brutal so I wish her a speedy and full recovery. Here’s hoping Nicole‘s stay in the hospital will be a relaxing and short one. Get well soon, Nicole!!

Both Twilight heartthrobs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are featured in separate interviews in the new issue of Parade magazine so whether you are on Team Edward or Team Jacob you can have your fill of awesome Twilightness. First up, here are excerpts from R. Pattz‘s interview with Parade wherein he confesses that real love can be even more lethal than a vampire bite:

Robert Pattinson turned millions of females around the world into frenzied fans when they saw him heat up the screen in Twilight as the heartthrob vampire Edward Cullen. And the love continues as Pattinson returns in New Moon. Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf got up close and personal with the devilish and charming 23-year-old superstar. Pattinson shared his thoughts on being romantically challenged and getting a handle on becoming an overnight celebrity.

The love bug bites the deepest.
“What’s interesting about this story is that it’s supposed to be about this all-powerful immortal creature. But he’s completely destroyed just by falling in love with this normal girl. He can’t control anything afterwards. His entire life turns upside down. So I guess love can be more lethal than a vampire bite.”

A new perspective on relationships.
“Getting involved in Twilight has definitely changed my mind about how people are kind of fanatical about wanting to have the perfect relationship. I had no idea that people were so desperate and felt like it was so unobtainable. They want to put this idea of unconditional devotion just so high above everything else, which is why they can’t get enough of this story.”

Advice to the lovelorn Bella.
“I keep wanting to tell people who think she should choose between Edward or Jacob that she should choose someone else. Jacob seems like the perfect viable option at the beginning of New Moon, but he turns out to be just as tortured as Edward is. So I guess Bella is just an unlucky girl.”

Breaking up was hard to do.
“There was something weird about doing that scene where Edward tells Bella he’s never going to see her again. Millions of fans see it as the ideal for a relationship. So breaking up the ideal relationship is pretty daunting. As for a breakup like that in my own life, I can’t think of one.”

And don’t ask him about being romantic.
“I don’t know, I can’t think of a single romantic thing I’ve ever done. That’s terrible. Wait. I put a flower in someone’s locker when I was 15-years-old. It was a girl named Maria. She thought it was somebody else that had done it and the other guy was trying to take credit.”

The scene where he almost took it all off.
“I felt pretty goofy stepping out into the sunlight in front of 2,000 people in a town square, ripping my clothes off. I was essentially doing a striptease. But here’s the irony, it was also one of the moments where I’ve really felt closest to people’s emotional attachment to Edward. There were so many extras in that scene who were Twilight fans who had flown in just to be a part of it. It was a moment where I’ve felt the whole weight of anticipation, and I guess responsibility as well, of being Edward, for all the people who were kind of so obsessed with the stories. It was quite uplifting and it was also very nerve-wracking.”

Going head-to-head with Taylor Lautner.
“I didn’t see Taylor until just a little bit before we started shooting. I had the same reaction as everybody else. It’s like, ‘Jeez, now I have to go to the gym.’ Looking at Taylor’s martial arts videos from when he was nine, I wouldn’t really want to fight him for real unless maybe I had some kind of weapon. But in the story as it’s written, I think it’s actually a fact that Edward would win over Jacob. So I guess I can hold onto that for my ego.”

The good news (and the bad) about becoming famous.
“It’s a scary situation to be in, in a lot of ways. You really have to question yourself a lot more. Before Twilight, I did any movie that I could and I tried to make the best of it afterwards. But now you’re expected to come and provide, not only economic viability at the box office, but also a smashing performance as well. When no one’s watching your movies and you get a part, you can do whatever the hell you want. I don’t have that luxury anymore.”

What he has in common with Edward.
“I guess stubbornness in some ways about some things. Edward is pretty self-righteous, and I guess I am too. I get quite obsessive about things and possessive as well. I have very specific ideas about how I want to do my work and how I want to be perceived, to the point of ridiculousness sometimes. I don’t listen to anyone else. That’s why I don’t have a publicist. I can’t stand it if someone is trying to tell me to do something, even if it’s probably a mistake sometimes. I’m like a control freak about it. I’ve never really struggled with anything until recently. I’ve got to stop being so self-depreciating because people are starting to believe it. Like, ‘That guy is an idiot.’”

LOL … I love these answers … it’s starting to sound like Rob‘s getting a bit tired of talking about Twilight but he’s really being a good sport about it all. Last night was the most recent meeting of The Turtle Party: Book Club where we discussed our final thoughts on the Charles Bukowksi novel Post Office. There were a couple of readers who weren’t too keen on the book but most of us loved its simple and colorful style. I, personally, loved the book and am very much looking forward to reading more of Bukowski‘s work.

Andy was charged with bringing a few selections for our next book and from his picks we decided to read Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer:

Funny enough, I picked up this book a few months ago to have on hand because I’ve always wanted to read it … it’s been on my “To Read” book pile for a while so now I can finally read it. I understand that this book was made into a movie starring Elijah Wood but I don’t think any of us Turtle Partiers have seen it. Because of the coming holidays, we decided to change up our meeting schedule a bit … we’ll be meeting in 3 weeks time (instead of two) and then again after the New Year.

Last night’s get-together was really fun … I really enjoy getting together for our book club meetings. We have so much fun :)

Plans for tonight are in flux … so I’m not sure what I’m doing yet. Unfortch, I’ve not been feeling better at all so I honestly would not be opposed to another relaxing night at home. I could get some reading done :)

OOOOOH and I’m happy to report that my ticket for the Michael Jackson: This Is It concert performance that David and I were supposed to see back in September (which never happened due to MJ‘s untimely death) finally arrived. As I understand it, there were 8 different 3D designs printed on the various tickets for the various performances:

The tickets printed with the special lenticular process, were inspired and designed by Michael Jackson for the fans attending his shows. This is the actual “oversized” concert ticket, measuring 82mm x 186mm (3.23in x 7.32in) for the 50 This Is It shows at The O2. His hopes were his fans would want to keep the special ticket as a reminder of the memorable evening that they would share together. The lenticular concert tickets feature one of eight unique designs printed via the lenticular printing process. Lenticular printing is a 3D process that can contain animation, multiple photos, morphing or a combination of these. The front of the ticket is the lenticular image and the reverse side is the standard ticket detail including the performer name, tour name, show date, venue, section number, row number, and seat number.

After almost everyone even remotely associated with The Twilight Saga was in attendance at the lavish Hollywood premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon in Westwood, CA on Monday night, principal stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner made their way to Knoxville, TN for another New Moon premiere last night. The Knoxville premiere was billed as a major charity fundraiser but it also allowed some Tennessean fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with a couple of their fave Twilight stars:

Fans lined up Tuesday night as Regal welcomed two stars of “New Moon,” the second movie in the highly popular “Twilight” series, in a benefit premiere. Stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner spoke to the media and signed autographs for fans on the red carpet. It was all hands on deck at the Regal Pinnacle 18 in Turkey Creek Monday. In addition to the regular theater staff, an extra crew of 75 people spent the day building props, setting up lights and making sure everything is perfect for the premiere. “The guest list includes mostly sponsors. That’s how the fundraiser is able to raise so much money,” says Russ Nunley, Regal Entertainment Group Vice President of Marketing and Communications. The proceeds benefit Variety, The Children’s Charity of Eastern Tennessee. “Variety is a non-profit organization that helps a lot of existing children’s groups do good work,” Nunley says. The money goes to programs for kids across East Tennessee. Last year, Regal raised more than $300,000. This year’s total will be announced at the premier. “I think everyone will be very pleased and even shocked at how much money can be raised by showing a movie one night here at the Pinnacle,” Nunley says. Winners for tickets to the screening were already selected and called for the opportunity to purchase two. “New Moon” opens for its first public screening at 12:01 a.m. Friday. But all 18 screens at the Pinnacle are already sold out for that time, so the theater has added a new 2:55 a.m. showing as well. This is Regal Entertainment Group’s seventh annual Tennessee benefit screening.

What a great event!! I am, again, very impressed with Kristen Stewart‘s willingness to give so generously of her time to help raise funds for needy charities. As you may recall, she recently participated in an event to raise funds for Juvenile Diabetes research and now this … well done, Kristen. She and Taylor both looked great on the red carpet last night … I’m sure the fine folks in Knoxville really appreciated their attendance last night. We are just a few days away from the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon in theaters … are y’all ready for the onslaught?

Yesterday we got our first look at the first photo released by Playgirl from their much ballyhooed photoshoot with Levi Johnston but The Insider last night took us on the set of the shoot to give us more of a preview of what we can expect in the mag … to be honest, and this should come as no surprise, there isn’t all that much to crow about:

Now, obvs, The Insider cannot show us anything of any substance on broadcast television but we learned early yesterday that there will be nothing to see anyways … Levi‘s Playgirl shoot will be painfully bare of any p33n which seems to negate the whole reason for posing in a nudie mag in the first place. But, as you can see in the first screencap, Levi does give a hint of what he’s hiding in his athletic shorts and, well, it makes a little more sense why he’d be so shy and choose not to show what his mama gave him. Madonna, who has been in Brazil for the past week or so engaged in activities that ranged from touring the more underprivileged slums of the country to partying with one of Brazil’s billionaires, was spotted back on the streets of NYC last night … curiously without her much younger toyboy Jesus Luz:

It was widely speculated that another of Maddy‘s planned activities in Brazil was to meet Jesus‘s family, including his mother Cristiane Regina Da Silva who is 14 years younger than Madonna. There was a report that Mama Luz was spotted making her way into Madonna & Child‘s Brazilian hotel but there hasn’t been much more info about that meeting. One hopes that a meeting of the moms went well … it’d be a shame for Madonna to lose her young lover because she failed to impress his mother.
