"I can't wait to become a part of each and every one of your lives"

After many months of talk and the last few weeks of hype, Heather Locklear finally steps back into Amanda Woodward‘s stiletto heels and micro-mini skirts and makes her long-awaited return to Melrose Place tonight! But, before the show airs in full on The CW later on tonight, Access Hollywood gives us our first 3-minute look at Amanda‘s reappearance on MP right now:

OMG … I am so excited … I cannot wait to watch this ep in full. It looks like Amanda will come back with guns blazing, ready to take out any and everyone in her way. Here’s hoping Heather Locklear will give MP the jolt of new life it really could use right about now. It’s great to have the original Melrose HBIC back in biz.

MTV Acquires The Rights To Air ‘Michael Jackson’s This Is It’ On Cable TV

First we learn that Disneyland may be bringing Michael Jackson‘s 1986 sci-fi mini-movie/music video Captain EO back from the dead in early 2010 and now we learn that MTV has acquired the rights to air Michael Jackson’s This Is It on cable TV in 2011:

From the press release: MTV Networks (a division of Viacom), has acquired the exclusive United States television rights to air one of the most anticipated films of the year — Michael Jackson’s This Is It. The critically acclaimed and commercially successful film becomes available to MTV Networks in 2011, and continuing through the entire six-year network window. The deal includes all domestic channels under the MTV Networks umbrella, including MTV, VH1, VH1 Classic and Palladia and rounds out the music networks’ commitment to celebrating the life and legacy of Michael Jackson. The arrangement also extends to Viacom’s BET Networks, including its newest channel, Centric. Channels and premiere dates will be announced at a later time. “The film is a true testament to Michael’s musical genius, passion and commitment to his craft,” said Van Toffler, President of the MTV Networks Music Group. “Michael Jackson has always been inextricably tied to our viewers as they witnessed his evolution from a talented performer to a global icon who redefined music. Now, with this film, we can help give his fans a chance to see his final performance.” THIS IS IT, premiered nationwide on October 28, earning the #1 box office spot for the weekend and offering Jackson fans and music lovers everywhere a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created and rehearsed for his sold-out, historic comeback concerts that would have kicked off this past summer at London’s O2 Arena. Chronicling from March through June, 2009, the film is produced with the full support of the Estate of Michael Jackson and drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind the scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing numerous songs for the show. Audiences are given a privileged and private look at Jackson as he was never before seen. In raw and candid detail, Michael Jackson’s This Is It is the last documentation of Michael Jackson at work, capturing the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius and great artist at work. Kenny Ortega, who was both Michael Jackson’s creative partner for the concert tour and the director of the stage show serves as the film’s director, and Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and Paul Gongaware are producers. Executive producers are John Branca and John McClain. The film is being distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing. One of the best reviewed film of the year, Michael Jackson’s This Is It has already reached $222.6 million in box office receipts worldwide. The deal was brokered by Sony Pictures Television and Ben Zurier, Executive Vice President, Program Strategy, VH1, VH1 Classic & Palladia for MTV Networks. MTV Networks will also collaborate with Sony Pictures Entertainment in marketing the DVD release of the film in early 2010.

Interesting … I would’ve thought that a major cable network like HBO or Showtime would’ve been interested in acquiring the rights to air this movie but I can’t say I can argue with the wisdom of letting MTV have the rights. MTV stands for Music Television and rarely airs anything remotely resembling anything musical … winning the rights to this film could be a huge boon for the network. It looks like we can look forward to many, many reruns of This Is It on the various MTV networks in 2011 and beyond.

‘Alice In Wonderland’ Releases A Mad Hatter Promo Poster

Earlier this month we learned that the folks promoting Tim Burton‘s Alice In Wonderland released a movie poster on Facebook featuring the White Queen and then released a poster featuring Alice herself. Today, the official Alice In Wonderland Facebook page releases a third poster featuring the wily Mad Hatter, played by Johnny Depp:

The message posted with this Mad Hatter movie poster alludes to the fact that it will be the “last” promo photo shared on Facebook for a while. I suppose it makes sense that the folks promoting the show would put a halt on releasing goodies to fans so early before the film hits theaters. Of the three posters, I think I like this one the least … I don’t think they featured the Mad Hatter as expertly as they could’ve. That being said, we still have a lot of time to wait before the film opens in theaters next Spring … I’ll take any and everything they’ve got to give. I just hope they don’t make us wait too long before they release another fun goodie.

Michael Jackson’s ‘Captain EO’ Will Reportedly Return To Disneyland

In the wake of the smashing box office success of Michael Jackson‘s final rehearsal/concert film This Is It, there are new reports that MJ‘s 1986 classic sci-fi 3D film Captain EO will return from exile to be shown again at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, CA starting next year. Now, none of this has been officially confirmed by the folks at Disney but it makes total sense that they would want to revive the mini-movie/music video in the wake of MJ‘s untimely death earlier this year:

“Captain EO” is coming back. The word from Hollywood is that Disneyland is planning to revive Michael Jackson’s 3D film beginning in January. Heavily influenced by “Star Wars,” the 1986 short film was produced by George Lucas and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Back in those days, Michael had the money from “Thriller” to make anything happen. Among the cast: Michael, Anjelica Huston, Dick Shawn — the latter died less than a year after “Captain EO” was released. It’s the 3D version coming back to Disneyland, but you can watch a less complex version on YouTube. “Captain EO” was pulled from Disneyland years ago. But with Jackson’s “This Is It” up to about $220 million worldwide, interest in him is rekindled. It’s another tragic irony for Jackson. And, believe it or not, the “This Is It” companion CD looks like it sold well over 125,000 copies last week — even though it’s just greatest hits. “Captain EO” contains a video of Jackson dancing and singing a song called “We Are Here to Change the World.” No word yet on whether Huston or any of the other “Captain EO” cast members will get paid for this revival. According to sources, Disney has the right to use the film whenever it wants to. I’m told they’re even thinking of having a premiere — with a red carpet — if they can get Jackson family members to attend. Hey, La Toya — you should call them right away!

Again, until we get official confirmation from Disney, I think it’s a bit premature to be celebratin’ this good news just yet … but it is encouraging that this rumor is making the rounds. I never got to see Captain EO (which I always regarded as the bastard child of The Muppet Show and Star Wars) when it was showing at Disney in the late 80′s so I would be VERY interested in seeing it on the big screen with my own eyes. I wonder if it’s possible for updated new scenes to be added to the original film. That being said, the entire Captain EO mini-movie can be viewed online right now. After the jump, watch it in full for yourselves …

First Look: Levi Johnston For ‘Playgirl’

Earlier today we learned the disappointing yet not at all surprising news that Levi Johnston‘s Playgirl “nudie” photospread will NOT, I repeat will NOT show any penis. But this afternoon, Playgirl is giving us our first look at what we will be seeing when the photospread is finally released (link NSFW) later on this week … behold:

Levi Johnston gets naked for PLAYGIRL.com! Our photo shoot with Levi this past Thursday and Friday was outstanding! Stay tuned in the next few days for the first of several steamy photo sets of Alaska’s hottest hunk. Become a member of PLAYGIRL.com and see Levi Johnston nude!

I find it very misleading for Playgirl to announce that Johnston will be “nude” and not mention that he will not be “full frontally” nude. It sounds like all we’re gonna get is a bunch of carefully posed photos that show bare ass, a hockey stick and not much more. To be fair, the photos can still be very hot as one needn’t show it all for a photo to be steamy (which is likely what this “wet armpit” preview photo wants us to believe) … it just seems incredibly lame for Levi Johnston to fall short of expectations, as it were, and wimp out on showing us everything he’s got to offer.

UPDATE: The Insider is airing a commercial that announces that they were on set for Levi‘s Playgirl shoot and will preview some of the pics tonight — after the jump, check out a couple of screencaps from that commercial to get a peek at what’s in store …

Recuperating

Blah … I’m still feeling a bit under the weather so my yesterday was pretty … well, blah. I didn’t leave the house and spent much of time time laying around trying to feel better. The good news is that I was able to watch a whole bunch of Dexter season 2 eps while I was laying about:

But even the laying about got old. I can’t say that I’m feeling worse, it’s just that I’m not feeling better … which I guess is the lesser of two evils.

Tonight I’ll have to get out of the house because The Turtle Party: Book Club meets to discuss the rest of Charles Bukowski‘s Post Office and to select our next book. Turtle Partier: Andy will be bringing selections for us to to choose from so it should be a fun night out.

Watch: Beyoncé Featuring Lady Gaga, ‘Video Phone (Extended Remix)’

At long last we get our first look at the new Beyoncé and Lady Gaga collaborative effort for B‘s new music video for her single Video Phone (Extended Remix) available on the re-release of Beyoncé‘s I Am … Sasha Fierce (Platinum Edition) album. The ladies teamed up for a duet of sorts for this new single and both appear in the just released music video:

The video is mostly Beyoncé with just a little Gaga thrown in … to be honest, and I’m not trying to sound like a hater here, this collabo kinda falls flat. Gaga‘s contribution to the song is totally unnecessary both musically and visually. Her one added verse is forgettable and her scenes in the video are totally uninteresting. To be honest, I don’t really love all the different Beyoncé looks included in the video either … I also find it funny that we don’t ever see a video phone … not once. That said, I’ll leave it to y’all to judge for yourselves — after the jump, check out the video in full …

Josh Duhamel Makes A Pass On The Set Of ‘The Romantics’

Josh Duhamel, who has been dealing with scurrilous allegations that he had an illicit sexual affair with a stripper in recent weeks, was lookin’ all happy-go-lucky on the Long Island, NY set of his new film The Romantics. Here are a few pics of Josh throwin’ around the ol’ pig skin with some of the film crew in between takes:

It would seem that vicious rumors are not enough to keep this man down … he looks calm, cool and very collected. I don’t personally understand the fun in throwing around a ball back and forth but I understand it’s a very fun activity. I guess I’ll have to take those who enjoy the practice at their word. I can say, tho, that I like the sight of other folks — particularly hot ones like Josh here — tossing around the football. Josh looks cute when he’s all sporty, don’t he?

Vroom Vroom!
Ryan Reynolds Looks Hawt On A Hog

Yesterday we saw a couple photos of hottie Ryan Reynolds making his way to the gym and today we get to see a few more pics of the lad out and about here in SoCal … as you can see, Ryan was out for a motorcycle ride and he was lookin’ damn goooood:

I kinda love that it looks like Ryan fell out of a catalog … he has that simple style that seems effortless and yet totally put together. The sweater, gloves, boots … he looks great! Ugh … not only is Ryan Reynolds a hottie to the max but he’s also a terribly stylish man who knows how to dress. Scarlett Johansson may be a nice girl and all but she SO does not deserve this. Boo!
