Hmmm … it looks like Kanye West‘s big mouth has finally hurt him where it matters most … in the wallet. As you may recall, Kanye very douchily stole the spotlight from Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards last month as she tried to give her Best Female Video acceptance speech and set off a firestorm of controversy with pretty much everyone on the planet (even President Obama called Kanye a “jackass” over the matter). Normally, his asshole behavior (which tends to piss off people on a regular basis) is just excused away without his needing to face any consequences. Days after the VMA incident, it was announced that Kanye would be teaming up with Lady Gaga for a co-headlinging tour called Fame Kills. Late yesterday, Live Nation released a statement annoucning that the tour has been CANCELED without offering any explanation why. Today … we know why … according to TMZ, ticket sales for the Fame Kills Tour were so low that the concert promoter decided to cut their losses before the tour even got underway … and additionally Kanye and Gaga just couldn’t get along. I guess Kanye and his “colorful behavior” don’t sell like they used to:
If Kanye West doesn’t regret hijacking Taylor Swift, he will now — we’re told his concert tour with Lady Gaga was scrapped because ticket sales sucked. And “sucked” happens to be a nicer version of the word we were told. And not only that — our insiders say another factor in the cancellation was West and Gaga’s people were at each others throats like their last names were Gosselin. When it came down do it, we’re told Gaga decided she’d be better off playing smaller venues … and far from the headache caused by Kanye’s ever present drama.
LMAOO!! Finally … perhaps, just maybe, Kanye West will finally learn that being an asshole will actually make people dislike you. How else will he learn better behavior? I find it humorous that Gaga was just days ago defending Kanye‘s douchey behavior and now we learn that she couldn’t stand him either … neither one of them sound very professional. I personally had ZERO interest in seeing this show so I have no personal stake in the matter … but I did want to pass along the info to highlight the fact that being an asshole DOES have its consequences. Do I think Kanye West will learn a lesson here? Not really … but there is always hope.
lady gaga is now touring on her own!! good on her i say. it does make me laugh though Trent how u go on about Gaga like she’s the plague (missing her out of your VMA report completely) but you were happy enough to accept her advert on you website for a few months!!

You know what I think? I think Gaga is an inhumane waste of talent. It’s clear that she’s got some but she thinks we’re all too stupid to appreciate it so instead she bastardizes the music industry with her cheap tricks and “flamboyant” costumes, guaranteed to make her enough money to last after nobody cares anymore…and eventually nobody will care. And at this point, if she sat down in jeans and a t-shirt and did an acoustic set, people would get almost as bored as I am every time I see her in her rediculous bid for attention.

TWO THINGS WRONG with that. Firstly, they are all pretty special considering Mmm Papi made the tracklist and any bonus track could replace that. and #2… Trouble is a wicked song although an iTunes Preorder bonus.

ANYWAY. I think it was a few things – probably lack of promoters, maybe some decided against Kanye. No money to pay for what would have been an expensive tour that Kanye n Lady Gaga would have demanded. They don’t have the expisure like Brit or Madonna to warrant them a high price tag tour like Britneys $50 million. I reckon that could be a factor…. high ticket prices. Trent, you do mention Brit & Beyonces prices – but they are superstars. Kanye is Rap which doesn’t sell out arenas like Pop Stars (unless they have like 5 artsits like his Glow in the Dark Tour). And Gaga has JUST come out onto the scene so they don’t deserve high price tickets.

I think also cause Kanye has been a douche lately that a lot may stay away from him perhaps. Or perhaps they booked it into too larger arenas that they weren’t gonna sell out in prediction so cancelling was the choice. And probably creative differences like they said. Either way – who cares! I’m form Australia and it wasn’t coming here anyway cause Lady gaga is touring here next year anyway by herself. She supported the Pussycat Dolls here and then announced on that tour she would be coming back – wonder if she will sell out here, if she doesn’t, that will prove whether she has the staying power or not since she was popular here before America. But i would have gone to Kanye/Gaga cause i do like Kanye as much of a douche that he is.

I would have paid $100 each but the total cost is $325 and I could fly to Seattle or Vegas for that price
