‘The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus’ Releases A Movie Trailer
Step right up

Yesterday we saw a few photos from the UK premiere of the new film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and today we get our first look at the film’s video trailer. As you may already know, Parnassus was the late Heath Ledger‘s last film (it was the project he was working on when he passed away in early ’08) and it is finally ready for release. Here are a few caps from the first official movie trailer for the film:

Because Heath passed away before the film was completed, the movie was tweaked a bit to fill in the gaps … Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law appear in the film as Heath‘s character in the scenes he had yet to complete. It’s a pretty ingenius way to salvage the film. After the jump, check out the video trailer in full to see what Doctor Parnassus is all about …

It looks good … creepy … visually fun. I can see why Heath would want to take on this role … he was always looking for new ways to expand his craft. This is the first role he chose after appearing as The Joker in Batman: The Dark Knight. I’m anxious to see this film … I have been for a long time.

It looks beautiful. Even if it’s bad I will love it because it’s pretty. I’m sure it will be fascinating though.

  3. Mela says:

Ooo…this is intriguing to me in the same way as Alice! It just looks so far out and totally stunning to the eye.

  4. Illise says:

  5. Autumn says:

This moving looks so good, and I can’t wait to see it. I am also excited because I think this is Lily Cole’s first movie? She is the red haired girl (and also a professional model).

  6. Meg says:

I saw this movie at a film festival a couple weeks back! As you can imagine it’s very bittersweet. Really good though!

  7. Amanda says:

I don’t like how Heath’s name wasn’t mentioned in the credits… not sure why they did that.

  8. Jie Hui says:

How could they [very meanly] leave Heath Ledger’s name out of the credits?! I totally agree with Amanda.

I even thought there’d be something like “And remembering, HEATH LEDGER” or something along that line.

    :(

  9. Lilly says:

I don’t know what you guys are talking about. Heath’s name is the first one listed!! Go to 1:01, it’s right there!!

  10. Michael says:

@ Lily – lol I was just about to say the same thing. His name is the first one mentioned, at 1:01, with the words “Academy Award Winner” right above it – kinda hard to miss guys!!

  11. Kendra says:

I actually saw this a few months back..It looks so awesome!

  12. BoodyNeptune says:

I should add in, Johnny, Jude and Colin did it pro-bono, and any money they did get they gave to Matilda.

  13. M3 says:

Can’t wait to see this! I’ll be there opening weekend, that’s for sure…with a box of tissues.

  14. mimi says:

i love how johnny says “nothing is permanent.. not even death.” this movie will be incredible.

@Autumn – this isnt lily cole’s first movie. im fairly sure st trinian’s was. either way, she looks beautiful in this.

  15. Nettie says:

I can’t wait to see this. Pretty much everything that Terry Gilliam does turns out to be phantasmagorically thoughprovoking and mind-blowingly amazing, and I am sure it will be a fitting tribute to Heath Ledger.

  16. Ally says:

It is so sad that this is the last new material we will see from Heath. I really hope the movie does him justice.

  17. Sweet_Lady says:

How will it be explained that other actors are filling in? Or are we just supposed to know why someone is in the scene because Heath didn’t get a chance to finish it. The movie looks interesting but oh so confusing!

  18. TVKimmy says:

This looks amazing. I was hesitant when they said Depp, Farrell and Law were going to finish the film but it looks like it was really well done. Even if all the actors were crap, which we know they aren’t, it is a visually stunning piece of work. I will definitely be seeing this one.

  19. Chivonne says:

It’ll be weird to see him but at the same time I’m excited. Seeing him in Batman I was so amazed. He was incredible. And anything with Johnny Depp is an instant must watch for me, I didn’t know that they did it pro bono……… I’m proud of them.
