Taylor Lautner Says He Doesn’t Want To Be Shirtless In Movies Anymore
Brace yourselves, Taylor Lautner fans. According to the man himself, if he had his way … he wouldn’t be shirtless in movies anymore! This upsetting sentiment comes from a new interview with the lad where he bemoans the fact that his nekkid physique overshadows his, ahem, acting ability and, therefore, he would prefer to remain clothed in future films. Um … yeah:

Garnering more attention from the media ever since he bulked up in order to reprise his role as Jacob Black in “Twilight” sequel “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon”, Taylor Lautner has vowed to never appear shirtless in future film projects. He is quoted by Showbiz Spy as saying that he is afraid his muscular body will draw people’s attention away from his acting skill, which is much more important than his physical appearance. “I worked hard to get in shape for this role,” Lautner explains. “My motivation was the movie and the fans, but I don’t want to become known as just a body. If I had to choose, I would never take my shirt off again in a movie, but I guess that’s not very realistic. I certainly won’t be asking to do it, though.” Previously, Taylor Lautner told reporters at Teen Vogue’s 7th Annual Young Hollywood party in L.A. that he actually feels uncomfortable with his muscular body. “It’s so uncomfortable knowing that so many people are seeing pictures of me shirtless,” so he said. “It’s weird. It’s kind of embarrassing.”
Aww … poor little wolf. To be honest, I can appreciate that Lautner prolly feels embarrassed by all the attention his shirtlessness has brought him but, in all honesty, there would be zero attention (and, hence, zero $$$) if it weren’t for all the shirtlessness. Robert Pattinson was the only hunk getting any of the love from Twilight fans … until Taylor decided to fight messy hair with chiseled abs … now he’s getting a whole lotta attention all on his own. It comes with the territory, I’m afraid. Taylor should be careful not to bite the hand that feeds him … if he decides to make a career based solely on his acting abilities he might have to go back to making movies like THIS.

hes young…has a ton of time to get his acting together.
this might be a good idea on his part for the next few years. mind you i doubt it’ll last. if theres one thing you do in hollywood, you work with what you got.

I think this makes me like him more. It’s nice that he wants to be seen for his acting ability and not just how fit his body is. I’m sure as he gets older he will get into different roles that will challenge his acting skills, which will gain him more recognition for that if he can complete acting in different roles.
But for the next year or so(or a few years after the whole twilight buzz goes down) he will most likely be getting roles that require for him to take off his shirt(well…as long as he keeps in shape anyways XD)

Thank God, the less I see of him half naked the better. Not that there is anything wrong with him… on the contrary every time I sit gawking at the kids abs I feel a little like a dirty pedophile. I mean after all he is only 17.

i think he’s so uncomfortable because he’s so young and no one his age looks like this. i mean, my 17-year-old brother is about 6 ft. tall right now and looks like a stringbean. his shyness is really very cute though, i think.

I can’t say I don’t blame him. A lot of people are being ridiculous about his “hot factor” and it probably makes him feel uncomfortable. I mean, there’s even that site that is counting down to his legal age. It’s disgusting, really. I think people have went a little overboard about him. It’s probably shocking to him because it kind of just blew up. But, then again, he did work hard for his body so why not get some appreciation for it? I understand both sides.

I thought he did a great job as Shark Boy. He really have grown up a lot.
He is a gourgeous young man, with or without his shirt on…The fact that he seems so level headed is refreshing!

Is it wrong that I think the fact that they have a website counting down till his 18th birthday is kind of funny, but when they had one for the Olsen twin and Emma Watson I thought it was offensive. I really have to rethink the kind of person I am now. Crap I was just getting used to being evil now I have to add hypocrite too.
