People magazine brings us our FIRST LOOK at the newest member of the Richie-Madden family today … Sparrow James Midnight (who was born last month) and his mom Nicole Richie are featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of People … check out their adorable coverphoto:
Six weeks after welcoming their first son, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden – along with their 21-month-old daughter Harlow – are showing off the latest addition to their family, Sparrow James Midnight Madden. “I couldn’t be happier,” Richie tells PEOPLE. “The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I’m right where I belong.” In an interview at their home in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, Richie, 28, and Madden, 30, her boyfriend and front man of the band Good Charlotte, say they are deprived of sleep, but grateful their daughter Harlow is now fawning over a baby brother. “I’m glad I had a girl before I had a boy,” says Richie. “She just loves him so much.” Adds the children’s proud papa, “She’s very gentle with him.”

Man-o-man … look at how cute they are. As Harlow Winter gets older she looks more and more like Nicole … and little Sparrow looks so much like his father Joel Madden. They are just … precious. At last … we get to see what this new little guy looks like … and he’s a doll.

Amazing how motherhood just lightens ones way. I always wondered my purpose until I became a mother and it fulfills everything I stand for. By the look of love in Nicoles eyes, you can tell she lives for those kids. SO CUTE!
So beautiful. Clearly she loves her family and is very happy. Which is just WONDERFUL – especially if you remember the god-forsaken show that she and Paris did out in Arkansas. UGG!! The comment of “how she’s losing the baby weight” really takes me aback. I really think she’s a tiny person. Losing much more weight (while chasing 2 minis) might be more detrimental than it’s worth. Hopefully, she’ll be careful and have extra hands to help her out as necessary. =) Good luck!
Looks a lot like dad, thats a cute happy family
They are a sweet little family but I simply cannot understand why they don’t make it legal and get married. Children have rights when their parents are married, none when the parents are not married. Joel can walk away anytime without a legal commitment.

I just never understand it when parents put their children on the covers of magazines. Moments with your baby are the most precious things, and they are selling those and exploiting their kids to keep THEMSELVES in the limelight. So many stars do it, but I just find it to be really disgusting. Pimping out your children to promote yourself. Blech.
