Their wings get clipped to prevent them from getting spooked and flying away and falling victim to predators. When you take away their freedom of flight then it's only fair to give them new freedoms, such as a ride on your shoulder or inside your jacket, This gentle and devoted little bird was obviously hand-tamed as a baby and loves being with his favorite people, He just wants to be loved and included in family activities. Parrots like this one can live for 25 or 30 years. Some larger parrots, macaws, and cockatoos can live 60 to 80 years or more, It is both challenging and rewarding to keep a companion parrot, They should be considered a lifetime commititment and only acquired after due diligence.
