With ya trent – she still has THE voice. Best in the industry.I cannot believe everyone excepts ones voice to be exactly the same 20 years later nearly. She may not be as good as the 90′s but she still is good and if not still the best!

Problem is she has that gentle voice when she sings normally until she belts out and hits the high notes. So of corse that voice is gonna change cause she has a very high gentle voice compared to someone like Xtine who sings very deeply. Not hatin on Xtina cause she is probably 3rd after Whitney – but i’m just drawin a comparison. I believe Xtina’s voice will be around for a while, not cause she is young – but when she is Mariahs age and if she is still around, i dont find her voice will change that dramatically.

I mean just cause Mariah is known for her wicked voice – doesn’t mean she needs to prove it on every album. She has already proved herself thousands of times over thousands of performances. Let her show off her writing skills or production side of things if she wants instead of belting out a whistle tone on song after song, album after album. I mean compare Beyonces I AM SASHA to BDAY – there aren’t as many screams or nutso outbursts like she does DEJAVU to be found on I AM SASHA – but she still has a good voice.

Her voice on this album sounds terrific. It has more “power” to it than it ever has. I really get tired of people complaining about Mariah not singing the way she used to- she has to sell records, and the way she sang 15 years ago doesn’t sell anymore. Besides, it’s more artistic and expressive, and her timing and phrasing are really brilliant. It’s 2009, people- get with the program.

The more I hear Obsessed, the more I like it. The “bathin in windex” line cracks me up! I dont think I would buy her cd, though. I haven’t liked her most of her music recently because she always sings in that whisper kind of voice.

I don’t care what anyone says… Mariah can sing. She is most definitely in the top 95th percentile of singers EVER. People who put her down are just haters. You don’t have to like her, but you can’t deny her talent.
