Levi Johnston Does ‘The Early Show’, Dishes On Sarah Palin
Levi Johnston, who gave a dishy interview to Vanity Fair magazine and will be appearing in the nude for Playgirl, made an appearance on The Early Show this morning to talk about all the things he could spill about his former almost-mother-in-law Sarah Palin (former Vice Presidential candidate and former Alaska governor) in a seemingly candid interview. Johnston reveals that he is hiding “huge things” about Sarah Palin that would really “hurt her” but out of love for his child (with Palin daughter Bristol) he has thus far refused to divulge. Here is a screencap from Levi’s appearance on The Early Show today and some excerpts from PART 1 of his interview:

Levi Johnston says he’s keeping some “huge” things about Sarah Palin from the public. In Part One of a two-part exclusive interview with “Early Show” co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, which aired Wednesday, the father of Palin’s grandson says, “There are some things that I have that are huge. And I haven’t said them because I’m not gonna hurt her that way. ” … I have things that can, you know — that would get her in trouble, and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I’m not gonna go that far. You know, I mean, if I really wanted to hurt her, I could, very easily. But there’s — I’m not gonna do it. I’m not going that far.” Johnston says he’s referring to things Palin did while she was governor of Alaska. Asked whether those actions were illegal or immoral, he refused to elaborate. Johnston also told Rodriguez he’s been hearing a lot about his saying in a recent first-person tell-all in Vanity Fair magazine that Palin routinely referred to her baby, Trig, who suffers from Down syndrome, as “retarded.” “I was just in shock for the first time I heard it,” Johnston recalled for Rodriguez. “And then she’d say it regularly. And I think she was joking, but it doesn’t make it right.” Still, Johnston remarked to Rodriguez, “Those are just little … things I put in Vanity Fair. You know, all the big things I got, I’m keeping — you know, I’m keeping them in, and — you know, it’s just something that probably will never come out.” He added that he’s “sure Sarah’s got something … coming for me,” perhaps in her soon-to-be-released memoir, but, “I’m not worried about her saying anything about me. I’ve really never done anything bad. I don’t have anything to hide. So she can go on and say what she wants.” Johnston stood by his contention in Vanity Fair that Sarah and Todd Palin would not only regularly talk about divorce — they’d do it in front of their children, adding to Rodriguez, “I’m sure it really hurt their kids, you know. I didn’t like it. I wasn’t even their kid.” Spokespeople for the Palins deny the divorce assertion. Johnston told Rodriguez Palin’s daughter, Bristol Palin, the mother of his son, Tripp, did most of the mothering of Trig, because Sarah and Todd weren’t around much. Now an aspiring actor and model, Johnston is going for the ultimate exposure — in an upcoming issue of Playgirl magazine. He told Rodriguez the Playgirl spread will be done “tastefully,” saying, “I’m not gonna just go out there and get naked.” He expands on that in Part Two of the interview, which airs Thursday. The interview with Rodriguez is the latest in a he-said-she-said battle with the Palin family. Johnston burst onto the public stage at the Republican National Convention in August, the handsome boyfriend of vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter. After the Republicans lost the election, Johnston and Bristol broke up. She had his baby in December. But he says the Palins shut him out of their lives. And that’s when the battle began, each side accusing the other of lying.
Now, because Johnston and Palin have been embroiled in a war of words you have to take what each side says with a huge grain of salt … that being said, if Palin really is guilty of “playfully” calling her child “my retarded baby” then I am truly disgusted. Considering that Johnston was pulled into the Palin household after he got Bristol pregs (in an effort to keep better media control of his person) it makes sense that he would be privy to some very embarrassing and damaging things about the family. Tho, the fact that he’s pimping his upcoming nude pictorial for Playgirl in the process does take a bit of weight away from his claims. After the jump, watch video of Part 1 of Levi’s Early Show interview and judge for yourselves …
On the one hand, I absolutely believe that this kid most deff has first-hand knowledge of the Palin family that could be extremely damaging … on the other hand, I know that this kid is really trying to make a name for himself as a pseudo-celebrity … in the end, one must take what he says with a HUGE grain of salt. But I absolutely believe that where there’s smoke, there’s fire. It sounds like Levi Johnston could be a huge problem for Sarah Palin in the future … if he really wants to be. The question becomes, will Palin attack him enough to force his hand? I guess we’ll have to wait and see where this war of words takes us.

Look, I was VERY against Sarah Palin and basically everything she said and “believed in.” But I don’t know, I think this kind might have her topped. He’s pretty disgusting. What was he calling himself for a minute there? Johnny Hollywood was it? *Barf*

This guy makes me want to throw up. He is so trashy.
October 28th, 2009 at 8:57 am
Levi, just let it all go! WHo cares anymore. You are about to be nude in Playgirl and don’t need to keep this shit up. The last thing you want people to think is you are can’t be trusted. I wouldn’t want to be friends with someone like that!
October 28th, 2009 at 9:11 am
@emily — I don’t think he’s trashy, I think he’s young and immature. Someone picks a fight with him so he’s gonna pick back. He wants to be famous so he’s listening to people who are, no doubt, promising him fame and fortune. None of this immaturity, tho, discounts that he may be holding some very damaging info. It’s just gross all the way around, the Palins as the adults should know better than to pick a fight with a kid.

He is sooo sketchy. So did he appear on the Early Show as Levi Johnston or Johnny Hollywood? LOL
October 28th, 2009 at 9:18 am
Could this not be seen as bribery or blackmail? I mean, “i could hurt her, but I won’t” what is he trying to gain? (other than celebrity/fame) He doesn’t really bother me however…
October 28th, 2009 at 9:30 am
agrees with Faith. and to add this guy has soaked up his 15 minutes of fame and then some. who cares what this ass hat has to say?
October 28th, 2009 at 9:40 am
whether you like sarah palin or not….this kid is just sleazy.
October 28th, 2009 at 9:52 am
Thank God Bristol didn’t marry him. If he REALLY had love for his child, he would keep his mouth shut and not pose nude for that trash pub for all the world to see. He says he has “huge secrets” to tell about SP, but since he’s such a great guy, he’s not going to tell them. Oh, please.
October 28th, 2009 at 10:03 am
Does that mean you weren’t disgusted with her prior to that little bit of information regarding her ‘retarded’ child? Because I have always found her repellent.
October 28th, 2009 at 10:06 am
@Freddie — There are a great many things about Palin’s politics that I do not agree with, my disgust would come in if she truly referred to her child in this way.
October 28th, 2009 at 10:15 am
I feel sorry for Bristol the most. You know Sarah is probably nagging her on a daily basis for her mistakes and what not.
October 28th, 2009 at 10:16 am
why would SP have carried the baby to term, and then refer to him in that way? I am the mother of a child w/special needs and I don’t know of any parents in my support community that feel that way about their child. I think this guy is a lying turd, and the news media should stop putting him on TV.
October 28th, 2009 at 10:23 am
@Ann because if found out that she had an abortion and being republican – woulda made things worse than having the “retarded baby”. I really don’t doubt that she said it. She never seemed too motherly to the little baby at all. Her daughters or husband were always holding him. And I still hate myself cause I still think Levi’s kinda hot & KNOW I’ll be checkin out playgirl to check out “the goods”!
October 28th, 2009 at 10:24 am
@Chase – agreed. and i have a feeling that poor girl would never stand up to her mom
October 28th, 2009 at 10:31 am
Before the election I told my friends two things:
1. If the Republicans lose, we’ll never hear from S Palin again. (Okay, clearly I was wrong on that)
2. If the Republicans lose Bristol and Levi will not get married. (And they didn’t, but come on, who didn’t hear the shot gun cock when that whole “marriage” announcement was made…)
October 28th, 2009 at 10:35 am
While I don’t’ particularly like him, Sarah is the one that made him famous, and I guess you kind of reap what you sow.
Let’s face it he needs to make all the money he can to pay for the attorney’s he’s going to need to be in his kids life. Unless he’s telling the truth about having something huge on her and he’s using that. Once he does spill the beans, and if it’s there he eventually will, he’s going to need attorneys to get near that kid again. They seem like a very vindictive family.
October 28th, 2009 at 10:52 am
I think that he is a pretty dim bulb, but he is young, and ultimately he did not ask for this kind of attention. The Palins thrust it upon him when they made him go to the Republican National Convention and put him up on stage as a prop. Well, sometimes those decisions bite you in the tooshie. Sarah Palin has really shown how little integrity she has with the lies she spreads. Other republicans say misleading comments, but Palin flat out lies about the most serious of things. Anyone who is willing to put seniors in fear of losing their lives to gain political points is capable of anything, IMO. It really doesn’t get any lower than “death panels”.
October 28th, 2009 at 11:16 am
LOL. This kid is hilarious.
October 28th, 2009 at 11:23 am
I am not a Palin fan by any stretch of the imagination, but as a mother myself, I have a very hard time believing a mother would refer to her child as “my retarded baby.” Do you think you’re kind of defending him because of your dislike for Sarah Palin? Would you feel this way if it were a guy trying to blackmail someone you really liked and respected? I mean how old is he? Immaturity is not an excuse. He’s just an attention whore!
October 28th, 2009 at 11:33 am
“There are some things that I have that are huge” – let’s hope this includes his peen in the playgirl spread.
October 28th, 2009 at 11:37 am
Trent, while that is obviously completely disgusting, I’m saying that I didn’t find this at all shocking coming from her. She’s a horrible human being. I wouldn’t even know where to begin. How about the fact that she hates gays? That’s a pretty big one. Calling her kid retarded is icing on the cake. I don’t know if Palin knows this or not, but in Psychology, ‘retarded’ is actually an official term for a mental or physical retardation.
October 28th, 2009 at 11:42 am
You know, regardless of what you think about Palin, and regardless of whether any of what Levi says is true or not I think is beside the point. Yes, Sarah Palin is a liar and she treated you like dirt. Time to move on, Levi! So she acted like an a-hole…no need for you to be one, too. Seriously, being a parent myself I think if he really loves his son as much as he says he does he would move past this grudge and stop hammering the Palins to get his 15 minutes of fame.
October 28th, 2009 at 11:43 am
LMAO Gabe!!!
October 28th, 2009 at 11:51 am
As the child of a Father who is an entertainer and relatively famous, I lived in the hell created by my father sharing “his view” of my “horrible” mother’s side of the family. My parents never married and much of what my father shared was actually true. But it was clear to me VERY EARLY ON that my father could not say “I love you” to me and then vilify my relatives at the same time (publicly!) His spreading of information was always self-serving, as is Levi’s. LOVE is not self-serving or boastful. Levi is both. His son will remain the victim here.
October 28th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
Does anyone else get the feeling like this whole thing is going to end badly for this guy? I just have a bad feeling that one day he will “disappear” and we’ll never hear from him again because Palin will have taken care of him.
October 28th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
first of all, i have NEVER been a fan of sarah palin – the woman whom, IF she were elected into office as vice president, would have taken all the years of progress within woman’s rights, fifty steps back. there is also an alleged theory about her baby, trig, and that she never wanted to have him, mainly because she knew he would be born with down syndrome. she was giving a speech in texas when her water broke while she was seven months pregnant… yet, she still boarded a plane and chose to fly 3,000 miles before actually going to the hospital. granted, take it with a grain of salt, but i wouldn’t trust that woman farther than i could throw her. levi, or “johnny hollywood” (HAHAHA), is just trying to use what he can to gain whatever fame possible. the only reason why people know who he is, is because he knocked up sarah’s daughter. i’m sure he’s got some heavy dirt on that woman and i’m sure that even if there is no retaliation on sarah’s part for this interview, as soon as “johnny hollywood’s” 15 minutes of fame are up, he’ll dish. you just wait…
October 28th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
I don’t like Sarah Palin but this guy needs to let it go. He is clearly trying to extend his 15 mins of fame and the easiest way to do that is bash the Palins as people will listen. At this point hes ridiculous for stooping to their level and we probably can’t trust a lot of what he says.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
@Freddie– “Horrible human being”? really, guys? you can disagree with her politics but don’t you think it’s a bit much to go THAT far? i don’t necessarily like the woman but to go as far as calling her a ‘horrible human being’ is beyond political disagreement…it’s just distasteful.
Trent, puh-LEASE stop perpetuating this skeeze. he’s disgusting and makes my skin crawl. his desperation would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
I can’t even stand to watch him–he is so full of himself. What a role model for his son….
October 28th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
@ Anna: are you on crack? ‘Distasteful’? I’ll tell you what’s distasteful – discriminating against certain groups of people because of regressive, immature “political convictions”. Some people are shit. It’s not subjective, it’s fact.
October 28th, 2009 at 8:02 pm
@Freddie…wow, over-react much? Just because you disagree with their politics doesn’t mean they’re horrible people.
For example, I disagree STRONGLY with some of Obama’s policies…namely, healthcare’s public option, the war in Iraq/Afghanistan (and i have a horse in that race, my fiance is deployed right now) and his stance on quite a few other policies. But I would never insult him as a person simply because i don’t agree with him. Get a grip. People are going to have different opinions than you. it’s their right.
October 29th, 2009 at 4:30 am
This guy’s got nothing. No big secrets, no dirty laundry on the Palin clan, and no balls.
When is this high school drop out going have a ghost writer publish his shocking tell-all book? And I’m not a Republican, but this guy is an opportunistic slut.
October 29th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Oh man! Is it bad that I’m enjoying this?
October 29th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
I’d have to agree that Sarah Palin is disgusting- partisanship and gay rights aside, as a woman, I have never been so ashamed of another female “leader”- from her records in Alaska to the absolute stupidity that comes out of her mouth. I can respect that her views are different from mine (just like John McCain, who I respect as a leader), but she’s misinformed, stupid if you will, and I find stupid, misinformed people especially disgusting when they are in power.
October 29th, 2009 at 2:57 pm
@ Anna: that applies to personal opinions. When people take them public (as in politics), and thus have the power to influence peoples’ lives, then no – I disagree with you – opinions are not just opinions that are beautiful and unique as snowflakes and should be cherishes. Then that’s a lot more serious. And, by the way, this is my opinion. According to you, I’m allowed to voice it without repercussions.
