Kylie Minogue Performs ‘For You, For Me’ In NYC, NY

The TV Guide
October 13th, 2009

Last night I was lucky enough to attend my 4th and final performance of Kylie Minogue’s first ever North American Tour For You, For Me. My good friend Tony and I made our way to the Hammerstein Ballroom last night and managed to get all the way to the front gate right in front of the stage. It was the closest I’ve ever been to Kylie Minogue and it was a THRILL beyond words:

After the jump, you can check out a few of the AMAZING photos I snapped last night … I was all up in her grill so I got a lot of really fantastic photos. Tony managed to get video of Kylie busting out the Cabbage Patch dance move on stage and you can also watch that video behind the cut …

Since I was so close, I managed to take hundreds of awesome photos … watch my Twitter, I’ll post a link to the album when I upload them all in a few days. Hands down, last night was my fave of all the Kylie shows I’ve seen. It is such an exhilarating experience being that close to such an iconic pop icon. I’ve been front row for Madonna shows and for Britney Spears shows but Kylie’s effervescent nature is just infectious …

… and let me assure you, she looks FABULOUS in person. The woman is a true beauty inside and out and I am so thankful she finally decided to bring a tour to the US. Kylie plays her final US show of this tour at the Hammerstein Ballroom again tonight and then … that’s all folks. While I really wish I could go back one last time, it’s time for David and me to get back home to LA.

After the show last night, Tony and I met up with David and his friends Marissa and Shane for drinks at Splash Bar:

Then we called it a night.

And that’s it for our NYC trip … we fly back to SoCal in a few hours and are planning to be home for a while. We have some fun activities to look forward to at home … I’m anxious to get there already ;)

How was the security last night? On Sunday the woman checking my purse was hardcore yet somehow managed to miss my camera completely. I’m not sure I’ll have the same luck tonight. I will be pissed if they take my camera from me.

@Shazzer — The policy is so lame, they will search you and if they find a camera they’ll make you check it … but if you sneak it in, they won’t care once the show starts. I say hide the camera (my female friends put their cameras inside empty tampon boxes) and once you’re past security, you’ll be fine :)

    Empty tampon boxes…nice!

  4. Shazzer Says:

P.S. I saw Kelly Clarkson there the week before and cameras were allowed. I don’t know what changed.

@Shazzer — I know, it’s a trick guys can never use … I had to stuff my camera in my crotch :)

Saw the show on Sunday night and still don’t fully believe I actually got to see Kylie perform in NYC only like 40 ft in front of me! She has definitely got to be one of the most gracious, giving and just plain damn adorable perfomers I’ve ever had the pleasure of going to see.
As for the camera in the crotch, it’s all fun and games until your package starts to flash! ;-)

I was there Sunday night and although we had a hard time seeing anything as my BF and I are short, we managed to see enough and it was AWESOME! I am so glad I managed to get tickets to a Kylie show. My boyfriend and I briefly met Trent after the show on the way out. Sorry I didn’t say hi to your boyfriend too, I realize that was rude after I walked away. So jealous you got up front for night #2.

I went to both the Sunday and Monday shows too. Right up front on the floor on Sunday, but up in the 1st balcony on Monday. The floor definitely was alot more exciting. I may have stood for a total of seven hours that day (between the wait outside and standing during the show) but it was worth it!! :)
