Last night a group of friends and I were lucky enough to attend Kylie Minogue‘s performance at the Hollywood Bowl here in Hollywood, CA as part of her first ever North American tour titled For You, For Me. Altho I was fortunate enough to attend her tour kickoff concert in Oakland, CA last week I was THRILLED to be able to see Kylie perform live in LA outside under the full moon and stars:

I know there are many of y’all who have still yet to see the show so I won’t spoil anything for those of you who wish to remain unspoiled. I understand that Kylie‘s performance last night was a dream come true for her … not only did she explain to the crowd how honored she was to be performing at the Bowl but she also shared her elation on Twitter. KYLIE Minogue says playing live is her therapy against the harsh realities of life. The singer also told how she has now fulfilled a career dream – by performing on the “hallowed ground” at the Hollywood Bowl as part of her first ever US tour. Kylie, who battled breast cancer in 2005, said she finds solace in going on the road and performing for fans. The 41-year-old said: “There is something to be said for the tour bubble. When life’s getting really difficult – ‘Let’s go on tour!’ I didn’t know if I would be able to do any of this and the fact that I can, I love it even more.” Getting emotional in front of thousands of fans at the iconic outdoor arena in Hollywood on Sunday night, she said: “Thank you very very very very very much. “Playing at the Bowl is just beyond words. I can’t believe I’m standing on hallowed ground. And if I think about it too long I’ll get far too emotional.” Others to have played the Hollywood Bowl, in Los Angeles, include THE BEATLES, FRANK SINATRA, BOB DYLAN, THE ROLLING STONES and ELTON JOHN. Speaking in a pre-concert interview, Kylie also said her mum Carol, who she has credited with pulling her through her cancer fight, was an integral part of her road crew. She said: “My mum has been on every tour I’ve done. All the crew – if my mum’s not there, they’ll cry. They love her.”

Just today, Kylie posted the following message on her official Twitter profile:

Last night was such an amazing experience. I felt incredibly honored to be performing at The Hollywood Bowl….it was a dream come true!!

It was a dream come true for her fans as well … everyone in the place was floored. The setlist performed last night included I Should Be So Lucky as part of the finale … it was a very nice surprise :) David, Josh, Tony and I had the time of our lives … it was such an amazing thrill to see Kylie explode on the stage last night.
