Jude Law Plays With His Sons In NYC
Yesterday morning the world got its first look at Jude Law’s new daughter Sophia Lee with babymama Samantha Burke but I don’t think that Jude was among the curious folks checking out Hello! magazine to see what the little darling looks like. Jude spent part of his bizzy Monday playing with his sons Rafferty Indiana and Rudy in NYC … very likely paying no attention to the fact that his newborn daughter is featured on the cover of the new issue of Hello!
Jude Law played the hands-on father to sons Rafferty, 13, and Rudy, seven, taking them for a kickabout in the park in New York. And the irony would not be lost on Samantha Burke, the mother of his fourth child, Sophia Lee, now five weeks old, who was unveiled in an interview with Hello! magazine yesterday. While Jude, 36, played happy families with his boys – daughter Iris, nine, is also in the city with her father – Miss Burke has yet to introduce the actor to his new daughter, born as a result of their brief liaison. The model said Law has given no indication that he will visit the baby. ‘There are no plans for it to happen at the moment, but I know he’s busy,’ she said, referring to his current lead role in Hamlet on Broadway. Miss Burke, 25, who had a brief relationship with Law as he made a film in New York, said there had been no contact from the actor, who has three children by ex-wife Sadie Frost.
HMMM … it sure does look like Jude really loves and adores his children … with Sadie Frost. Tho, he doesn’t seem to exhibit the same affinity for his newborn daughter Sophia Lee. While I can understand that he may not be proud of fathering a child from a “one-night stand” liaison, I cannot for the life me imagine how one could so easily discard the birth of a new child. I do hope, for Sophia’s sake, that Jude decides to to meet with his daughter … she sure is a cutie … and I’m sure she’d love to meet her daddy.

Dead beat dad!!! I don’t give a fuck about his relationship with the babies mom, but that’s your kid regardless of the situation. That baby didn’t do anything so man the fuck up and be a dad douche bag.

@Jadedkitten – how do you know he’s a deadbeat? I’m sure he’ll support his child financially. It would suck if he was totally not in his daughter’s life…I agree with that, since it’s not her fault her mom’s 2 stupid to be on birth control and her dad can’t keep it in his pants or use a condom.

It is hard not to be judgemental when you hear that he has not visited, or even sent a card. He is not the first man to father a child from a one night stand. It is however his daughter and while DNA makes a blood bond, direct contact with your child is what makes an emotional and father bond. Let’s hope he can see past what he may consider obstacles in connecting with his daughter. They will both gain from it.

I really hope that Ms.Burke isn’t making it so Mr.Law can’t go see his daughter(as in not letting him see her), and then making him look like he doesn’t want to go and see her.
If that made any sense at all. I think Mr.Law may wait for awhile before seeing her. though it is messed up, I take it he likes to keep his children and private life, private. So he will probably wait till all this spotlight on the ‘love child’ cools down a bit, before going to see her., but I really hope he does try to make some contact with her before it becomes to late.

To be blunt, it’s not like the baby’s going to know if he shows up right away. And, after the mom sold his kid’s photos to Hello, I can see that it would be hard to see emotionally supporting her in these first few days as a priority. Especially given that he has a professional, 6 days a week, contracted commitment here in NYC.

It’s not really much different then being a sperm donor. Although, because he’s not anonymous if he doesn’t form a relationship now it’ll probably be an issue when she’s older.

He’s already said he’ll provide for the baby financially and that he plans to be in her life. I think Samantha would do well to stop whoring her new child all over the place and start acting less like a money-grabber. How do we know that a date hasn’t been arranged for him to meet the baby? He’s never been a dead-beat dad before, I doubt he would be now.

Please.This woman wants one thing only- her 15 minutes fame.
Jude paid for all her hospital and maternity bills and has probably already sent monthly support to the kid. She wanted money and her face plastered in magazines so people will know her. Pathetic. She will use that kid thruout her life. I feel sorry for thekid. This could have been done with dignity and privately.
Friends of Jude had said that he wanted this done as privately as possible since he does not want his own kids pictured himself but Samantha is determined to make it a circus. How is he supposed to see his kid when he knows she’ll probably tip the paps as soon as he does? I think he is doing what is best right now.
