Over the past few weeks we have been first official look at the new cast. A new promo photo of the newly assembled A-Team has hit the Internets … behold:

Fans of “The A-Team” don’t have to wait much longer for a real look at the new do-gooder mercenaries with the release of the film’s first official photo. Standing in front of the mist and armed with guns are Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck, Quinton Jackson as B.A. Baracus, Sharlto Copley as H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdoch and Liam Neeson as Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith … “The A-Team” is a big screen adaptation to the popular ’80s NBC series of the same name. The original idea of the TV series is used for the movie version, meaning the story will still revolve around four war veterans who are convicted of armed robbery but manage to escape from military prison and become do-gooder mercenaries. Jessica Biel adds to the cast ensemble as she will be seen starring as the ex-lover of Face who becomes the Army general pursuing the mercenary team. Appointed director Joe Carnahan, in the meantime, is also tapped to polish the Skip Woods’ script along with writer Brian Bloom. The movie is expecting a June 11, 2010 U.S. release.

As I’ve said all along, they did an amazing job casting this movie … when you compare this new A-Team with the original A-Team …

… you can see how great care has been paid to keep the spirit of the original characters alive while updating their looks to fit in with modern times. Yes, I’m kinda bummed that B.A. Baracus (played originally by Mr. T) doesn’t like to wear heaps of gold chains around his neck anymore but I can understand why the change was made. At least the new B.A. still has a mohawk :) Thus far, I’m likin’ what I’m seein’ … this movie adaptation might turn out to be notsobad after all.
