Ed Westwick Finally Enjoys Man-On-Man Action On ‘Gossip Girl’
Sealed With A Kiss

Last August we learned that Ed Westwick‘s character, Chuck Bass, on Gossip Girl would be engaging a bit of man-on-man action on the show and last night was the ep where it all took place. Because Chuck Bass was a bisexual character in the Gossip Girl book series, fans have been wondering if the TV version of Chuck Bass would be emulating his literary counterpart … and it turns out that he does — but on a much smaller scale. Here are a few screen caps of Ed Westwick gettin’ all amorous with co-star Neal Bledsoe:

To be honest, the kiss wasn’t really all that … but on a primetime TV series aimed at the tween set, I think it was adequate. After the jump, check out a screenshot of the actual smooch and watch video of the full scene …

Heh … cute. I really loved the very end of the clip where Chuck tells Blair Waldorf that it wasn’t the first time he ever kissed a guy before. Throwing that little bit in seems to be a nod to the Chuck Bass we know from the book series. And … who knows … perhaps Chuck will be taking future steps towards indulging in the manaction. One can only hope. What did y’all think … were you satisfied?

Oh Trent yay! I wasn’t sure if you read the books too. I haven’t watched the past two seasons partly because I was so disappointed with how they didn’t follow the series…at all. I honestly think Blair was the only character that was close to the books. Do you think they are on the right track now?

    • @g — I do not think they will stay very true to the books but it seems like they are interested in at least acknowledging the book series. TV has to be watered down, unfortch. We may see more things from the books come to the small screen but I wouldn’t count on seeing too much.

    it was tame but appropriate.
glad they included it, they need to be using more storylines from the books!

  3. Smoo says:

It was good, the key was that it wasn’t too much. It was done cleverly, not put in there just to be put in there. They are nowhere near the books, they can’t be for a mainstream show that is on for three seasons plus

    Needed more movement.

I just wish they had better gay representation. I mean we are almost approaching 2010 and the representation is so minimal. I mean it would be nice to see more actual gay couples on shows that are listed as main cast members. I know we have Scotty and Kevin on Brothers and Sisters (which i adore) and a few others but again its very minimal. A show like Gossip Girl should have more gays on it, especially from the setting it takes place. P.S. Chuck is hot!

Ugh! Ed is sooooooo not attractive. I couldn’t even enjoy this man on man action

  7. Sean says:

Sorry but the kiss was lame. When it was over, I actually almost screamed “that’s it?”. Oh well, maybe we’ll get more down the road…

  8. Lilliah says:

Ha- I’m still only on the 2nd season dvds, and based on the first picture, I thought it was his uncle Jack he was gonna kiss!

I would like to add the following to Trent’s response to *@g*

“Regular” TV may need to be, in your words, “watered down”… The same can’t be said (thankfully) for cable TV. Great gay/bi-themed shows like “The L Word” & “Queer As Folk” being great examples.
    -
I’m not sure if there are any other gay shows on cable right now… But I did hear something awhile back re: “QAF” coming back to cable with BRAND NEW EPISODES! Do you know anything about it – I really miss it… Also, what ever happened to “The L Word” prison spin-off series? That is why they killed off Jenny, right? To tell you the truth, I felt ripped off not knowing what REALLY happened – murder or accident – maybe even suicide…
    -
Sorry to run on but Gossip Girl on TV will never be like the books… Too many so-called “morality” focus groups out there to accept college kids doing ANYTHING deemed wild, EXCEPT allowing for gays to be representing… Wow, no gays in high schools or colleges – I never knew that (sarcasm definitely intended)!
    -
What would cable have done with the books?

QAF is coming back!?!?!?!?!!! WHOOHOO!!!! I love that show and I hope this news is true. The only thing is, I really didn’t get the whole atraction to Justin(you know, Brians jailbait BF)
I kinda thought his head was too big for his body. lol!
