‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Has Officially Wrapped In Vancouver

While it remains to be seen if all filming of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has been completed or not it would appear that production on the film in Vancouver, BC has already wrapped. The cast and crew enjoyed a wrap party for Eclipse in Vancouver last weekend … here is what the invitation looked like:

As far as invites go, this one is kinda fug but … a wrap party is a wrap party, I suppose. Again, while production may have wrapped in Vancouver, that doesn’t mean that more filming may take place elsewhere in the world. But, even if there is more work to be done on the film, it’s clear that it is very near completion … at least on the filming end. It’s pretty crazy how quickly these films get made … you don’t suppose the quality will suffer because of all of this haste, do you?

Shirtlessness, apparently, runs in the family
Matthew McConaughey Gets Handy, Levi Alves Just Happy To Have His Arms Intact

Here are a few photos of Matthew McConaughey doing a bit of handy work around his home in Malibu, CA (in various states of undress) while his grandmother/nanny looks after his son, Levi Alves. As you may recall, we recently saw photos of Granny Alves yanking little Levi up by his right arm while he was playing at the beach … I’m not trying to overworry here but, it really looks like he is missing his right arm entirely in these photos:

I mean, I know that Levi didn’t have his arm pulled off by his overzealous grandmother but it is humorous how you cannot see his arm at all in these photos. I really do hope the little guy wasn’t injured by granny’s need to manhandle the little dude. As for Matthew, it’s been so long since we’ve seen him out in public sans shirt that I don’t even know what to say. The only thing that would make these pictures even awesomer would be a cameo by McConanaughey‘s new pet bird. These people need a reality show, don’t you think?

That's what 'Friends' are for
Lisa Kudrow Will Join Courteney Cox-Arquette On ‘Cougar Town’

While we wait to hear about any movement on an official Friends reunion, Entertainment Weekly brings us the great news that Lisa Kudrow has officially signed on to do a guest stint on Courteney Cox-Arquette‘s new hit sitcom Cougar Town!

It’s not an actual Friends reunion, but I’ll take it: Lisa Kudrow has signed on to guest star opposite ex-Friend Courteney Cox on Cougar Town, an ABC spokesperson confirms. “She’ll play a dermatologist that my character can’t stop going to even though [she's] mean to me,” Cox told tvguidemagazine.com. The Cox-Kudrow reunion episode will shoot next month and air in early 2010.

And this is how Cox described Kudow‘s character to TV Guide:

“If it all works out, she’ll play a dermatologist that my character can’t stop going to even though the doctor is mean to me.” Is it a Botox thing? The show’s writers are not exactly sure yet, says Cox, who’s also producing the show, “but whatever it is, she’s the best in town at what she does and I become addicted.”

It turns out that both Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston have been considered as future guest stars … this is what Courteney had to say about the prospect of having other former Friends castmates appear on the show:

“I did ask Matthew [Perry] if he’d play my boyfriend on the show,” she says, “but he thought it was a little too much after Chandler and Monica.” Then there’s Jennifer Aniston, whom Cox has remained closest with among the Friends stars. “I’d love for her to be on the show, too,” Cox says. “Obviously we can’t cast her so close to Lisa’s appearance but if there’s a great part for her, I’d send it right away. She’s younger than me so she can’t play my contemporary even though she did on Friends, but I think we can find something great for her to play.”

This is all very exciting stuff to mebbe look forward to … but for now, I’m perfectly content with having Phoebe and Monica together again … er, Lisa and Courteney, that is ;) The Friends reunion may never actually take place but in the meantime, we have Cougar Town to enjoy!

Lilith Fair Announces First Batch Of 2010 Tour Stops

Great news music fans! Earlier this year we learned from Sarah McLachlan herself that Lilith Fair will return in 2010 and today LilithFair.com was officially launched, announcing the first batch of tour stops for the 2010 tour:

Nearly 6 months ago, Nettwerk CEO and Lilith Fair co-founder Terry McBride announced via Twitter that the all-female festival would make its return in 2010. Today, the official Lilith 2010 website launches, not only revealing the new look and feel of Lilith a decade later, but also the first set of cities that the traveling festival will be hitting–New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, London and more. Check out www.lilithfair.com for the complete list.

“I can’t reveal anything further now,”says McBride, “but I can assure fans that we have some exciting announcements over the course of the following weeks, from confirmed artists to additional cities to innovative social initiatives. Lilith 2010 is very much upon us.”

Lilith 2010 promises to be a much bigger summer festival than it was in the past, traveling for the first time overseas and celebrating a mix of international artists and local up-and-comers. To capture the new energy of Lilith, Vancouver’s Traction Creative was brought on board to reinvigorate the Lilith brand—the new look is revealed today for the first time with the launch of the website.

From 1997 through 1999, Lilith Fair was one of the highest grossing touring festivals in the world, with over 1.5 million fans in attendance and raising over $10 million dollars for national and local charities. Founded by Grammy-award winning artist Sarah McLachlan along with Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond and Terry McBride, Lilith Fair was the only tour of its kind—a celebration of women in music featuring artists like Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, The Dixie Chicks, Missy Elliot, The Pretenders, Nelly Furtado, Jewel, Queen Latifah, Indigo Girls, Tegan and Sara and of course, Sarah McLachlan.

Follow @lilithfair on Twitter for the most up to date information.

This is very exciting news! Lilith Fair is one of my fave touring music festivals and I am anxious for its return. I’ve already started following @lilithfair on Twitter for the latest updates … I can’t wait to find out who will be hittin’ the road next year! After the jump, check out the list of the first announced tour stops on Lilith Fair 2010 …

Say it ain't so!!!
Taylor Lautner Says He Doesn’t Want To Be Shirtless In Movies Anymore

Brace yourselves, Taylor Lautner fans. According to the man himself, if he had his way … he wouldn’t be shirtless in movies anymore! This upsetting sentiment comes from a new interview with the lad where he bemoans the fact that his nekkid physique overshadows his, ahem, acting ability and, therefore, he would prefer to remain clothed in future films. Um … yeah:

Garnering more attention from the media ever since he bulked up in order to reprise his role as Jacob Black in “Twilight” sequel “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon”, Taylor Lautner has vowed to never appear shirtless in future film projects. He is quoted by Showbiz Spy as saying that he is afraid his muscular body will draw people’s attention away from his acting skill, which is much more important than his physical appearance. “I worked hard to get in shape for this role,” Lautner explains. “My motivation was the movie and the fans, but I don’t want to become known as just a body. If I had to choose, I would never take my shirt off again in a movie, but I guess that’s not very realistic. I certainly won’t be asking to do it, though.” Previously, Taylor Lautner told reporters at Teen Vogue’s 7th Annual Young Hollywood party in L.A. that he actually feels uncomfortable with his muscular body. “It’s so uncomfortable knowing that so many people are seeing pictures of me shirtless,” so he said. “It’s weird. It’s kind of embarrassing.”

Aww … poor little wolf. To be honest, I can appreciate that Lautner prolly feels embarrassed by all the attention his shirtlessness has brought him but, in all honesty, there would be zero attention (and, hence, zero $$$) if it weren’t for all the shirtlessness. Robert Pattinson was the only hunk getting any of the love from Twilight fans … until Taylor decided to fight messy hair with chiseled abs … now he’s getting a whole lotta attention all on his own. It comes with the territory, I’m afraid. Taylor should be careful not to bite the hand that feeds him … if he decides to make a career based solely on his acting abilities he might have to go back to making movies like THIS.

The TV Guide
Showtime, At Last

Yesterday was a bizzy day for me … I spent most of it running around all over town taking care of various errands … some fun, some not so fun but all very necessary. Much of my evening was spent hunting for props to go along with my AWESOME Hallowe’en costume. I don’t want to say, just yet, what I’m gonna be for Hallowe’en this year but I will reveal that I had to go to Toys R Us, Office Max, CVS Pharmacy and The Sports Authority to procure the items needed to go along with my costume :) I have but ONE last item to get … and it better arrive by mail in time for Hallowe’en night! I’ll be making the big reveal on Twitter Saturday … I think many of y’all will love it ;)

Tonight, I’m meeting up with a bunch of friends for a 9pm screening of Michael Jackson’s This Is It:

At long last we will finally see if all the hype leading up to this inside look at Michael Jackson‘s last days alive really amounts to anything. I’m totally reserving judgment until I see the film for myself. I’m really exctied … mebbe I’ll see some of you out at the theater tonight? Wherever in the world you are, I’m sure a great many of you will be watching the movie as well … 9PM PT, 12AM ET and so on. Showtime … at last.

'True Blood' gets gayer, Bea Arthur's gift, Is Ortega 'Footloose' or not?
Taylor2 hangin' out at a hotel?
Taylor Swift & Taylor Lautner Spend Some More Time Together

Yesterday we saw a cute photo of Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner enjoying an LA Kings hockey game together at the Staples Center on Sunday evening and it really did look like the Taylors were very cozy. Today we get to see more photos of Taylor2 later on Sunday night … as they made their way to a hotel in Beverly Hills, CA:

Now, it is entirely possible that the BFF Taylors were merely staying at the same hotel and there was nothing untoward going on … but I suppose it’s just as likely that Taylor2 were having a “friendly” sleep over as well. Whatever the heck is going on, I gotta say … I kinda love the Taylors together. Ever since I saw photos of the pair together on the set of Valentine’s Day over the Summer, I thought they made a cute couple. Hopefully their coupling up will continue … long live, Taylor2!

On the day the world gets is first look at his new daughter in 'Hello!' mag
Jude Law Plays With His Sons In NYC

Yesterday morning the world got its first look at Jude Law‘s new daughter Sophia Lee with babymama Samantha Burke but I don’t think that Jude was among the curious folks checking out Hello! magazine to see what the little darling looks like. Jude spent part of his bizzy Monday playing with his sons Rafferty Indiana and Rudy in NYC … very likely paying no attention to the fact that his newborn daughter is featured on the cover of the new issue of Hello!

Jude Law played the hands-on father to sons Rafferty, 13, and Rudy, seven, taking them for a kickabout in the park in New York. And the irony would not be lost on Samantha Burke, the mother of his fourth child, Sophia Lee, now five weeks old, who was unveiled in an interview with Hello! magazine yesterday. While Jude, 36, played happy families with his boys – daughter Iris, nine, is also in the city with her father – Miss Burke has yet to introduce the actor to his new daughter, born as a result of their brief liaison. The model said Law has given no indication that he will visit the baby. ‘There are no plans for it to happen at the moment, but I know he’s busy,’ she said, referring to his current lead role in Hamlet on Broadway. Miss Burke, 25, who had a brief relationship with Law as he made a film in New York, said there had been no contact from the actor, who has three children by ex-wife Sadie Frost.

HMMM … it sure does look like Jude really loves and adores his children … with Sadie Frost. Tho, he doesn’t seem to exhibit the same affinity for his newborn daughter Sophia Lee. While I can understand that he may not be proud of fathering a child from a “one-night stand” liaison, I cannot for the life me imagine how one could so easily discard the birth of a new child. I do hope, for Sophia‘s sake, that Jude decides to to meet with his daughter … she sure is a cutie … and I’m sure she’d love to meet her daddy.

"I love the role. I love the show. I have been an enormous supporter of it for 30 years."
Eric Braeden Talks About His ‘Return’ To ‘The Young & The Restless’

A few weeks ago, Young and the Restless soap opera fans learned the shocking news that iconic character Victor Newman (played by Eric Braeden) was being written off of the show after Braeden refused to take a contract pay cut to keep his job … then we heard from Braden himself railing against his studio bosses for the way they treated him … then over the weekend we learned the not so shocking news that a compromise has been worked out and Victor Newman WON’T be written off the show … and today we hear from Eric Braeden again in a new interview where he discusses the deal he worked out to stay on the show:

He’s back. Just a little more than two weeks ago, Eric Braeden announced that he would be exiting his role as Victor Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” following a salary dispute with Sony, the production company that owns the daytime drama.

Now, Eric talks to ET about his return, following the resumption and successful conclusion of contract negotiations.

ET: How did it come about that you got back into negotiations? Do you think “Y&R” fans had anything to do with it?
Eric Braeden: Let us just say that we arrived at a mutually beneficial arrangement. Obviously, I was very touched by the fans’ reaction and support. I must say in all humbleness, it touched me. I had no idea. I am inclined to be a cynic about some things, and I did not expect this type of outpouring. Did it have something to do with the outcome? I am sure it did. I come from the world of sports where you fight very hard on both sides. You finally come to the end and you shake hands.

ET: How sad were you to be walking away from the character?
Eric Braeden: As you know, in any kind of divorce or loss like that, you go through so many emotions, you can’t think straight for awhile. It is kind of a grieving process. It is all kinds of emotions rolled into one.

ET: When are you back? Right now, your last airdate is Nov. 2.
Eric Braeden: I don’t know. You would have to ask [head writer] Maria Bell. I don’t know when that is planned. Obviously, it would have been difficult. No question about that. I love the role. I love the show. I have been an enormous supporter of it for 30 years.

ET: Can we assume you signed a new three-year deal?
Eric Braeden: You can assume something like that.

ET: What do you look forward to for Victor in the future?
Eric Braeden: To come back and take revenge!

ET: He is so good at that.
Eric Braeden: He is very good at that.

ET: The other show owned by Sony let two of its top cast members go, and didn’t suffer in the ratings.
Eric Braeden: It is very difficult to ascertain to what degree one is important to the fabric of the whole thing. You don’t know until afterwards. That is the enormous gamble that you take. It is impossible to foretell.

As an avid fan of the show (which my mother got me hooked on in the mid-80′s) I’ve been paying particular attention to all this, ahem, drama and since Y&R has been the #1 daytime drama for over a decade now, I know there are many fans of the show out there as well. It sounds to me like Braeden decided to bite the bullet, take the pay cut and keep his job. Methinks this sends a clear message to the rest of the Y&R cast that if the most central character on the show can be threatened with exile off the show than any character can as well. For now … all’s right in Genoa City, WI (where Y&R takes place) … let the rein of Victor Newman carry on!
