Director Quentin Tarantino Confirms The Production Of ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 3’

Woooooooooooooot!!!
Friday, October 2nd, 2009

In absolutely MOTHEREFFING FANTASTIC NEWS, it is my extreme pleasure to pass along the news that writer/director Quentin Tarantino has announced that he will be making Kill Bill: Vol. 3!!! Kill Bill: Vol 1 and Kill Bill: Vol 2 are among my all time fave films … and he did promise to make a third movie “10 years after Kill Bill 2” … so it looks like Part 3 will be hittin’ theaters sometime in 2014:

Speaking on an Italian talk show Parla Con Me, Quentin Tarantino confirms his plans to make a Kill Bill 3. The writer/director — whose last film Inglourious Basterds has generated over $245 million in worldwide box office — says that he will make another installment of his successful Kill Bill series, but that he wants there to be a 10-year break between the second and third film. That would put Kill Bill 3 with a 2014 release date and his star Uma Thurman at 44, just the right age to kick more ass.

If I remember correctly, Tarantino mentioned that Vol. 3 would feature the daughter of assassin Vernita Green/Jeannie Bell (aka Copperhead) lookin’ for revenge after witnessing her mother’s slaughter at the hands of Beatrix Kiddo (aka Black Mamba) … so I guess we can assume she will be in the film. As you may or may not know, Kill Bill was originally meant to be one big movie comprised of both Vols. 1 and 2 but due to time constraints it was broken into two films. I’m sure that Vol. 3 will be another chapter in The Bride saga … and I can’t freakin’ wait!! I know there are a lot of Kill Bill fans out there … who’s excited???

‘Friday The 13th Part 2’ Is On The Way

A sequel to the remake will hit theaters next Summer
Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Hot on the heels of the release of the first movie trailer for the new version of A Nightmare on Elm Street (which we got to see here on the blog last Monday) comes news that a sequel to the remake version of Friday the 13th has been greenlit and will be coming to theaters next Summer. As you may recall, the new version of Friday the 13th hit theaters this past February … and now we learn that Jason Voorhees is comin’ back for more in part deux:

New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. have announced that they are moving forward with the sequel to 2009’s “Friday the 13th” by setting up a release date. On Thursday, October 1, the studios revealed that they are aiming to bring “Friday the 13th Part 2″ into theaters across America in summer of 2010. The exact schedule for the release of this thirteenth installment in the series will be on August 13, 2010. On that particular date, “Part 2″ will be up against Screen Gems’ horror “Priest”, which deals with a warrior priest who disobeys church law by teaming with a young sheriff and a priestess to track down a band of renegade vampires and get his kidnapped niece back. The date has been teased by producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form earlier. “If it does get greenlit, and we are able to mount it in a reasonable amount of time, we will have the film opening on August 13th of 2010,” they told MovieWeb at the time. As for what this sequel will offer, the producers shared, “Jason is going to have a snowball fight. Look, for Friday the 13th II, which is a totally different film than A Nightmare on Elm Street, it needs to look different. It has a totally different feeling. We want to have fun.” They added, “We want to present something that audiences haven’t seen before. One of the things they haven’t seen before is Jason in the snow. They haven’t seen that before. Our goal is to bring them things they haven’t seen.”

Actually there was buzz going around that a sequel to the remake 13th was in the works just days after Friday the 13th opened last February. The film took in enough $$$ at the box office to make a sequel feasible. I’m not surprised … we are plainly aware that Hollywood has run out of ideas to the point that they have to remake everything, it makes sense that they would want to squeeze as many sequels out of these remakes as possible. I liked Friday the 13th but I wasn’t wowed … I suspect the same will be said about this sequel. Are any of y’all happy that Jason Voorhees will be back in Friday the 13th Part 2?

Beyoncé Is ‘Billboard’ Magazine’s ‘Woman Of The Year’

Bow Down
Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Beyoncé was on hand at The Pierre Hotel in NYC, NY earlier today to accept her latest accolade at Billboard magazine’s 4th Annual Women In Music Brunch. Billboard has named Beyoncé their Woman of the Year and presented her with her award at today’s award ceremony. Here are photos of B making her red carpet arrival earlier today:

Fans are still getting to know Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé’s musical alter ego, formally introduced on the singer’s 2008 album, “I Am…Sasha Fierce.” Most probably don’t know, however, that the singer/songwriter has been friends with Fierce since elementary school. Manager and father Mathew Knowles will never forget the moment he first met Fierce. A 7-year-old Beyoncé was entered in a talent search open to Houston elementary and middle school students. The song she sang? John Lennon’s “Imagine.” “Beyoncé was the youngest,” Knowles says. “She got up onstage and when she was finished, she received a standing ovation. Her mother [Tina Knowles] and I looked at each other and said, ‘That can’t be our Beyoncé. She’s shy and quiet.’ ” Twenty-two years later, that simmering brew of shy, quiet talent peppered with fierce determination and ambition is at a boiling point. The former frontwoman of Destiny’s Child has come into her own, enjoying one of the best years of a still-evolving solo career. On Oct. 2, Beyoncé will add one more honor to her array of accolades when she accepts Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award. The presentation will be made at Billboard’s Women in Music brunch in New York, recognizing the year’s top 30 women in the music business. “Beyoncé is a multiplatinum artist and a multitalented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman of the Year Award was created to honor,” Billboard editorial director Bill Werde says. “She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and her signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, business savvy and dedication to charitable causes.” In the past 12 months alone, Beyoncé has accomplished several career milestones. She not only sang “American the Beautiful” during the opening ceremony of the 2009 presidential inauguration, she also sang the Etta James hit “At Last” as President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama danced their first dance at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball. In March Beyoncé launched her worldwide I Am…tour, which has grossed some $53.5 million to date, according to Billboard Boxscore. She’s also the star and executive producer of the 2009 film “Obsessed,” which opened at No. 1 and has grossed more than $68.3 million in North America, according to Nielsen EDI. “I Am…Sasha Fierce” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it was released by Columbia Records in November. The album, the singer’s third solo set, has spun off a string of Billboard Hot 100 hits: “If I Were a Boy,” “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” “Halo,” “Ego” and “Sweet Dreams.” After accepting MTV’s video of the year award for her iconic “Single Ladies” video a few weeks ago, Beyoncé gained a new level of fan and industry respect at the Sept. 13 event when she unselfishly brought Taylor Swift back onstage to complete the acceptance speech cut off by Kanye West’s surprise interruption. Beyoncé also continued her commitment this year to ongoing philanthropic projects and entrepreneurial activities from fashion to fragrances.

Beyoncé is my girl and I couldn’t be more happy that she has been chosen as Billboard’s Woman of the Year. There is no doubt that she has enjoyed a storied music career thus far and has reached new heights of success as a solo artist. 2009 has deffo been her year and she is really the only person who could’ve been named Woman of the Year. I’ve been a Beyoncé fan for years but she really won me over as a superfan after I saw her perform live in concert. To be honest, I see no sign of the girl slowing down and I only wish her nothing but the happiest of successes. Much love and congrats goes out to Beyoncé on this latest achievement … she deffo earned it.

Next To ‘Paranormal’

The TV Guide
Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Blah!! I’ve been dealing with some server issues for the past hour or so so the site has been up and down … it seems to be back to normal, which is a good thing :) David and I made it back home from San Francisco, CA last night and immediately got settled in as best we could … now all of our luggage (and their contents) are strewn all over the house and everything’s a mess … home, sweet, home.

Tonight, my dear friend Charlie has organized a private screening of the new horror film Paranormal Activity (which is being described as the new Blair Witch Project) on the Paramount Studios Lot this evening for me and a bunch of friends TONIGHT:

Oh man … I’ve heard so many great things about this film … I can’t wait. About 13 of us will be seeing it this evening and we’re all very excited :) Check out the movie’s official site HERE and DEMAND that the movie be shown in your hometown. The way I understand it, the only way for Paranormal Activity to hit theaters where you live is to get people to DEMAND the movie be shown. I’ll be sure to let y’all know what I think of it but if you want to see this movie in your town, you gotta do something about it ;) Check out the trailer … it looks like a really great movie!!

We’ve got a couple fun events planned for the weekend … so, there’ll be no downtime just yet. I’m happy to be home tho.
