At long last, the much talked about Green Hornet movie helmed by Michel Gondry but written for the screen by Seth Rogen (who also stars as Britt Reid/The Green Hornet in the film), has started filming here in Los Angeles, CA. Here are a few photos of Rogen with co-star Cameron Diaz (who plays Lenore Casey Case in the film) on the SoCal set of The Green Hornet yesterday afternoon:
Now, I’m not a big fan of The Green Hornet but I do love that the emphasis of this superhero story is not on superpowers (like Superman) or technical gadgetry (like Batman) but on martial arts, which is always fun for little boys. It remains to be seen how Rogen will portray The Green Hornet … methinks hes gonna try and go funny like Robert Downey, Jr. did in Iron Man but, to be honest, I’m not totally convinced he can pull it off as successfully. BUT, I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. The Green Hornet is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2010.

I didnt know cameron diaz was in it, she should be good in this movie, I’m not totally convinced that Seth Rogen will do a good job either, but I had my doubts about Robert Downey and I was wrong.
Have we heard who’s going to be Kato yet? I heard that it was suppose to be this really good martial arts guy but they decided to pass cause they were worried he would show up Seth. But that’s really his job so…
Seth Rogen ruins everything! He plays the same character OVER AND OVER again and it’s extremely annoying. He’s a typecast character to me. FAIL
I heard it was Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, and Shaolin Soccer) who will play Kato. so this may very well be a comedy, if so

What do you mean why did they pick this guy? Read: “written for the screen by Seth Rogen”, I would say that is why he is playing the part of The Green Hornet…but I like him, so I am good with this.
I think Seth Rogen is hot in his goofy way. I am excited to see this.
