Nine Inch Nails ‘Wave Goodbye’ To The EchoPlex, LA
Last night Nine Inch Nails played the second of the 4 final dates of the Wave Goodbye Tour at The EchoPlex in Los Angeles, CA in front of a sold out house of about 700 fans. Last night’s venue was supposed to be the last one of the tour but due to illness and rescheduling, it became the 3rd to last show of the tour:
As you might expect, Trent Reznor brought not only a blistering set of songs but also brought out a special guest to perform with NIN on stage … providing a rock solid, raucous show for the audience. As amazing as last night’s intimate show was, I’m very glad that it was not the site of the last NIN show ever. The place is small, yes, but it offers terrible sightlines for most of the people in the venue. I was standing next to the soundboard, maybe 20 feet from the stage and I really couldn’t see much of TR, Robin Finck, Justin Meldal-Johnsen or Ilan Rubin. I’m really looking forward to seeing NIN in the other two upcoming venues (The Henry Fonda Theater on Tuesday, The Wiltern on Thursday) to enjoy a better view of the final two performances.

My plan is to be in the pit for the Henry Fonda show on Tuesday as I’ll be interviewing Trent Reznor before Thursday’s show at The Wiltern and want to just take in the show experience in full (ie. unmangled by the pit of fans).
Today will be a short posting day as David and I would like to enjoy Labor Day with our friends. Things will be back to normal tomorrow!!

Thank you for posting this. Enjoy the upcoming shows and don’t forget that you are one of the few lucky fans that are going to see the LAST NIN ever. I’m so jealous :p
