More Misery For Jessica Simpson
"WTF?!? Do I really have to sleep like this?"

Poor Jessica Simpson … the girl cannot seem to catch a break. The subtitle above is from a tweet she posted on her official Twitter profile yesterday from Uganda, Africa where she is currently suffering on holiday with her BFFs Cacee Cobb and Ken Paves. Actually, Jess isn’t really on holiday … she is on location to film segments for her new TV show The Price of Beauty (which has yet to find a distributor) but still — it appears that her misery continues. Considering the fact that she lost both her boyfriend (Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo) and her dog (Daisy Simpson) already this Summer, you’d think she’d want to travel to more luxurious locales to film her show. Well, at least she’s got her work to keep her company at night:

Jessica Simpson is moving on. Days after calling off the search for her dog Daisy who was snatched by a coyote last week, the star, 29, is in Uganda, Africa, filming more of her upcoming reality show, The Price of Beauty. “WTF?!?” she Twittered Wednesday after posting a photo of herself surrounded by protective fly nets. “Do I really have to sleep like this?” Simpson, who is in Africa with pals Ken Paves and Cacee Cobb, is “focusing on work” after the loss of her 5-year-old maltipoo, a source close to the star tells Usmagazine.com. “She’s so happy just seeing the world and opening her eyes to what’s out there,” another source tells Us. “This is a good project for her.” The star is also set to visit Mumbai, India, for the show, which does not yet have a premiere date.

Ugh … Jess always looks so … miserable. The pouty lip, the sad eyes … she really does seem to have the worst luck imaginable. True, her suffering in Africa is totally by her choice but still … considering the year she’s had thus far, it’d actually be nice to see her smile again. It is heartening that she, at least, has her work and her friends to rely on these days … how many knocks can one person take before they lose their shizz? I just hope this Price of Beauty TV show gets picked up and aired by some network … but, to be honest, considering her luck these days … well, I’m not really counting on it just yet.

I’m pretty sure VH1 picked it up for 2010. yes? I swear i saw that.

  2. Nic0Le says:

Is that a wedding band on her finger? Hrmmm, maybe she found some poor sap in Uganda to marry her, lol

  3. AmyM says:

ohahahahaha poor kitten. that is quite a face.

  4. zoe says:

um, maybe she needs a big dose of more life in uganda – sleeping with mosquito nets is nothing – how about the threat of mercenaries? let’s see if she gets kidnapped!! held for ransom with a knife at her throat and see if she’s still tweeting her ridiculous “WTF”s…
    dumb fucking blonde.

  5. K. says:

You know – she’s got a better head on her than Lilo and Brit – she could have gone off the deep end a long time ago and gotten herself into a lot of trouble. I think it’s great that she always picks up and keeps moving, regardless of how successful (or not) her projects are. The alternative is DUI’s, crotch shots, and late nights banging on the ex’s door in front of the papparazzi.

  6. tanya says:

i really hope she’s joking. if she really wants a big dose of bad luck, try sleeping without those nets and risk getting malaria. it’s endemic in uganda.

I wouldn’t really consider having as much money as she does and being able to travel the world on a whim the worst luck imaginable Trent.

    • @Jenn from Canada — Well, you know what I mean … it’s all relative. True, she is insanely rich … which could be considered lucky (esp. since her career is kind of a joke) but I suppose in the celeb world, she’s unlucky. Dude, her dog just got snatched away by coyotes in front of her eyes! That’s pretty unlucky and sad.

  8. Lauri says:

Despite her loss of boyfriend/dog…so much worse going on over there…..not really feeling any sadness for her having to sleep there/like that..by choice, ha.

  9. CoCo says:

I feel bad for her for a lot of the things that she has gone through… but not the sleeping with nets! haha! Does she want to be eaten in her sleep? Seriously! Glad she is “opening her eyes” to other cultures.

  10. Frog says:

I’m kinda offended by her tweet…is that just me? I like Jessica, I actually think she’d be pretty cool to hang out with but this high maintenance-ness is just really annoying…give up your king size bed for a little humbling reality check would ya. WTF some people sleep like that everyday.

  11. Meagan says:

I feel bad for her, but at the same time, I can’t help but think that she brings some of it upon herself. She is spoiled absolutely rotten, and she made her entire living based on being a dumb-ass with big boobs and no tact whatsoever. Sure, it sucks that she’s been dumped and I feel beyond horrible about her dog being eaten. But one has to question where she was that her dog was able to be snatched by a coyote? Probably somewhere that it needed to be on a leash. And there are usually good reasons for break-ups. Tony made it somewhat clear that she was the reason, and he’s clearly not hurting if he has a new girlfriend. I think she needs to use this as a sign from the gods that she needs to reconsider how she is living her life, and to reassess her approach to things.

  12. Jenn from Canada says:

Fair enough that losing her dog and her man are bad luck but not the worst luck imaginable (except maybe in her eyes). I can think of much worse things to happen to a person.

  13. mikisix says:

Call me crazy, but traveling the world on someone else’s dime wasn’t one of Dante’s rings of hell…

  14. LizzyMae says:

It’s rough being rich enough to travel the world and sleep safe from malaria when there are children in Africa who don’t have food, don’t have access to education and really don’t have much hope. Poor put upon Jessica Simpson. If she really doesn’t like the protective netting there are millions of people all over the world who will happily take them from her. The dog thing is sad, but lets be real.

  15. CB says:

I have to say that I respect the fact that she is at least going out and trying something new (complaining or not, because hey, which one of us wouldn’t?). Most of us comfort-loving Americans wouldn’t dare venture into the world of mosquito nets and long drop toilets. I’m the first to admit that I would cry if I had to squat over a hole to take a crap. Just being real here.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to taking my central a/c and microwave for granted.

  16. Jadedkitten says:

The only reason she didn’t have a breakdown is 1. She’s too stupid to have one she won’t even know where to start. 2. She’s on a tighter leash than Britney if anyone thinks Papa Joe isn’t calling all the shots in her life you’re kidding yourself.

  17. Sandy! says:

I wish I could feel bad for her. I really do.
My mom just got back from a missions trip to Uganda a couple of weeks ago. She saw kids carrying dead babies on their backs just to get a little bit of money and Jessica Simpson is complaining about sleeping with fly nets?
What an idiot. If it’s that much of an issue, take down the nets and let her get attacked by tsete flies

  18. CHASE says:

Poor Jessica. I can’t help BUT feel sorry for the poor girl. People don’t give her any slack and it really is unfortunate. Her career is down in the tubes and her acting choices… boy. She needs to A.) Fire her dad a.k.a. her manager B.) Get a new style C.) Stop being an airhead D.) Switch back to pop music and collaborate with hot producers D.) Go to a vocal coach and get her amazing voice back during her ‘I Wanna Love You Forever’ days. KTHANX

  19. Jenn says:

chase i love that your career advice includes ‘C.) stop being an airhead’. that is so rad.

  20. Would she rather sleep outside the net and be devoured by bugs?
