More Misery For Jessica Simpson

"WTF?!? Do I really have to sleep like this?"
September 24th, 2009

Poor Jessica Simpson … the girl cannot seem to catch a break. The subtitle above is from a tweet she posted on her official Twitter profile yesterday from Uganda, Africa where she is currently suffering on holiday with her BFFs Cacee Cobb and Ken Paves. Actually, Jess isn’t really on holiday … she is on location to film segments for her new TV show The Price of Beauty (which has yet to find a distributor) but still — it appears that her misery continues. Considering the fact that she lost both her boyfriend (Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo) and her dog (Daisy Simpson) already this Summer, you’d think she’d want to travel to more luxurious locales to film her show. Well, at least she’s got her work to keep her company at night:

Jessica Simpson is moving on. Days after calling off the search for her dog Daisy who was snatched by a coyote last week, the star, 29, is in Uganda, Africa, filming more of her upcoming reality show, The Price of Beauty. “WTF?!?” she Twittered Wednesday after posting a photo of herself surrounded by protective fly nets. “Do I really have to sleep like this?” Simpson, who is in Africa with pals Ken Paves and Cacee Cobb, is “focusing on work” after the loss of her 5-year-old maltipoo, a source close to the star tells Usmagazine.com. “She’s so happy just seeing the world and opening her eyes to what’s out there,” another source tells Us. “This is a good project for her.” The star is also set to visit Mumbai, India, for the show, which does not yet have a premiere date.

Ugh … Jess always looks so … miserable. The pouty lip, the sad eyes … she really does seem to have the worst luck imaginable. True, her suffering in Africa is totally by her choice but still … considering the year she’s had thus far, it’d actually be nice to see her smile again. It is heartening that she, at least, has her work and her friends to rely on these days … how many knocks can one person take before they lose their shizz? I just hope this Price of Beauty TV show gets picked up and aired by some network … but, to be honest, considering her luck these days … well, I’m not really counting on it just yet.

I’m pretty sure VH1 picked it up for 2010. yes? I swear i saw that.

  2. Nic0Le Says:

Is that a wedding band on her finger? Hrmmm, maybe she found some poor sap in Uganda to marry her, lol

  3. AmyM Says:

ohahahahaha poor kitten. that is quite a face.

  4. zoe Says:

um, maybe she needs a big dose of more life in uganda – sleeping with mosquito nets is nothing – how about the threat of mercenaries? let’s see if she gets kidnapped!! held for ransom with a knife at her throat and see if she’s still tweeting her ridiculous “WTF”s…
    dumb fucking blonde.

  5. K. Says:

You know – she’s got a better head on her than Lilo and Brit – she could have gone off the deep end a long time ago and gotten herself into a lot of trouble. I think it’s great that she always picks up and keeps moving, regardless of how successful (or not) her projects are. The alternative is DUI’s, crotch shots, and late nights banging on the ex’s door in front of the papparazzi.

  6. tanya Says:

i really hope she’s joking. if she really wants a big dose of bad luck, try sleeping without those nets and risk getting malaria. it’s endemic in uganda.

  7. Jenn from Canada Says:

“The pouty lip, the sad eyes … she really does seem to have the worst luck imaginable. ”

I wouldn’t really consider having as much money as she does and being able to travel the world on a whim the worst luck imaginable Trent.

  8. Lauri Says:

Despite her loss of boyfriend/dog…so much worse going on over there…..not really feeling any sadness for her having to sleep there/like that..by choice, ha.

  9. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Jenn from Canada — Well, you know what I mean … it’s all relative. True, she is insanely rich … which could be considered lucky (esp. since her career is kind of a joke) but I suppose in the celeb world, she’s unlucky. Dude, her dog just got snatched away by coyotes in front of her eyes! That’s pretty unlucky and sad.

  10. CoCo Says:

I feel bad for her for a lot of the things that she has gone through… but not the sleeping with nets! haha! Does she want to be eaten in her sleep? Seriously! Glad she is “opening her eyes” to other cultures.

  11. Frog Says:

I’m kinda offended by her tweet…is that just me? I like Jessica, I actually think she’d be pretty cool to hang out with but this high maintenance-ness is just really annoying…give up your king size bed for a little humbling reality check would ya. WTF some people sleep like that everyday.

  12. Meagan Says:

I feel bad for her, but at the same time, I can’t help but think that she brings some of it upon herself. She is spoiled absolutely rotten, and she made her entire living based on being a dumb-ass with big boobs and no tact whatsoever. Sure, it sucks that she’s been dumped and I feel beyond horrible about her dog being eaten. But one has to question where she was that her dog was able to be snatched by a coyote? Probably somewhere that it needed to be on a leash. And there are usually good reasons for break-ups. Tony made it somewhat clear that she was the reason, and he’s clearly not hurting if he has a new girlfriend. I think she needs to use this as a sign from the gods that she needs to reconsider how she is living her life, and to reassess her approach to things.

  13. Jenn from Canada Says:

Fair enough that losing her dog and her man are bad luck but not the worst luck imaginable (except maybe in her eyes). I can think of much worse things to happen to a person.

  14. mikisix Says:

Call me crazy, but traveling the world on someone else’s dime wasn’t one of Dante’s rings of hell…

  15. LizzyMae Says:

It’s rough being rich enough to travel the world and sleep safe from malaria when there are children in Africa who don’t have food, don’t have access to education and really don’t have much hope. Poor put upon Jessica Simpson. If she really doesn’t like the protective netting there are millions of people all over the world who will happily take them from her. The dog thing is sad, but lets be real.

  16. CB Says:

I have to say that I respect the fact that she is at least going out and trying something new (complaining or not, because hey, which one of us wouldn’t?). Most of us comfort-loving Americans wouldn’t dare venture into the world of mosquito nets and long drop toilets. I’m the first to admit that I would cry if I had to squat over a hole to take a crap. Just being real here.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to taking my central a/c and microwave for granted.

  17. Jadedkitten Says:

The only reason she didn’t have a breakdown is 1. She’s too stupid to have one she won’t even know where to start. 2. She’s on a tighter leash than Britney if anyone thinks Papa Joe isn’t calling all the shots in her life you’re kidding yourself.

  18. Sandy! Says:

I wish I could feel bad for her. I really do.
My mom just got back from a missions trip to Uganda a couple of weeks ago. She saw kids carrying dead babies on their backs just to get a little bit of money and Jessica Simpson is complaining about sleeping with fly nets?
What an idiot. If it’s that much of an issue, take down the nets and let her get attacked by tsete flies

  19. CHASE Says:

Poor Jessica. I can’t help BUT feel sorry for the poor girl. People don’t give her any slack and it really is unfortunate. Her career is down in the tubes and her acting choices… boy. She needs to A.) Fire her dad a.k.a. her manager B.) Get a new style C.) Stop being an airhead D.) Switch back to pop music and collaborate with hot producers D.) Go to a vocal coach and get her amazing voice back during her ‘I Wanna Love You Forever’ days. KTHANX

  20. Jenn Says:

chase i love that your career advice includes ‘C.) stop being an airhead’. that is so rad.

  21. All Women Stalker Says:

Would she rather sleep outside the net and be devoured by bugs?

    -meream

  22. Lisa Says:

@Trent – I think it’s great that for once you feel bad for her but honestly this time I’m on the opposite side – plenty of girls lose their boyfriend and their pet but don’t have great, loving parents, a sister who is a best friend and plenty of money (no financial worries). I know a gal who lost a kid to SIDS, went through a divorce and lost a parent all in the same year & can barely pay her bills :(

I liken it to the golfer that ‘oh no they didn’t win’ but 2nd place still pays a few million – LOL

  23. Tilly Says:

I truly think the coyote was doing her dog a favor and just getting it away from her for it’s own protection….

  24. Marni Says:

@LizzyMae said everything i was thinking!

  25. Danny Says:

fuck her dog! She’s a spoiled little rich bitch who needs a dose of reality…the problem with these reality shows these rich bitches star on like the Simple Life…..they don’t learn anything…they don’t have any compassion or empathy, all she does is feel sorry for herself. It’s not cute, it’s not funny, it’s a slap in the face to all the children there dying of AIDS. Maybe she should visit them and realize how good she has it. I hope she gets malaria and dies. stupid bitch.

  26. pam Says:

Do people realize that every time they use WTF they are dropping the F bomb? If you wouldn’t say or type the f word don’t use WTF. I thought Jessica was nicer than that.

  27. jenn Says:

There are actually people in Uganda as well as other countries who don’t even have the “luxury” of sleeping with a mosquito net. Therefore, many men, women and children die from malaria by infected mosquitos. Did she not know her sleeping conditions before travelling? The mosquito nets are not decorative pieces out there, lol!
    Way to be sensitive Jessica!!

  28. Ama Says:

Wow. So I’ll admit that taking this picture like she is poor and suffering while there, is a little extreme. But so are a lot of these comments. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but really now? Do any of you know Jessica personally to be judging her as you are? Has she really done anything that bad, to deserve such words? I believe not. Sure, she isn’t the brightest one among us, but I’m sure she is smarter then some people. Yes, she has money and fame. But how far does that get you? It usually bugs me when people who have it better off then others whine and cry about everything. When there are others then them, that have it harder. But Jessica doesn’t seem the type to do that all the time.

Also for everyone who is like ‘its a dog get over it’. Maybe to you it was seen as a dog but to Jessica her dog may have been the only living thing that was constantly at her side. Without mentioning her famous exboyfriend, without wanting money, or without trying to ‘comfort’ her and then rely the information to the press. I feel bad for people such as her and others that are going through normal things, and people judging their every move and reaction to these situations tenfold. Sure, she signed up for it when wanting to become famous, and she has handled things in a good way. But every human has there bad times in life, she is having hers. I’m sorry to say this but, while money can buy a lot of things. It can’t buy honest friends, it can’t buy back a companion that was lost.

Sure, she could go and get another dog. I doubt it will be the same, she created a bond with Daisy that can’t be bought back. Also for those who were like ‘oh well where was she when the Coyote came? Why wasn’t there a leash on her?’

Uh yeah, have any of you seen or had to deal with coyotes? Right now in California, their land is getting taken over by humans more and more. Which is making it hard for coyotes to find food and shelter. When I lived in California five years ago, Coyotes were sneaking into peoples backyards and taking whatever animal was out there.

Daisy is a small dog, even if Jessica had a leash on her. Do you think she could have won in a game of tug o war with a hungry coyote. No. I’m really not trying to say Jessica is the greatest person out there, or the smartest. I haven’t seen her do anything aside from being somewhat lucky in the finical department to deserve the hateful words being thrown at her. She is having a bad time, you don’t have to cry for her or feel bad for her. But what will hateful words do? Nothing. She won’t read any of them(thankfully) but try and put yourself in her position. If with a lot of money, sooner or later you will notice money is everything.

That’s my end rant. I apologize but, after reading hateful words towards this female over and over again I can’t help but start feeling a bit annoyed.

  29. Catherine Says:

Agreed. Coyotes will eat whatever small animals they see. Have you not heard that the coyote problem in Cali has gotten so bad a woman actually got bitten?! Things like that can’t be prevented 100%. I’m not a huge fan of Jessica Simpson, but I know how attached I am to my dog. To watch your baby get snatched for supper? Not cool. I would be absolutely devestated. I do, however, also agree that the mosquito nets and uncomfortable temporary living conditions are just that– temporary. Just think of those who live like that from day to day… and don’t get paid or boo hooed to do so.

  30. Josh C. Says:

OMG…WTF people! Do you not get the sarcasm from her tweet and pic.

The show has been picked up by VH1 to air in early 2010…press release by VH1 awhile back too.

Give Jess a break. She seems like such a sweet and talented woman who has not been given fair judgement. What has she seriously done that makes you feel such hatred towards her…maybe she could go all bat crazy and endanger children like Britney to gain your respect.

  31. Ama Says:

*snort* there are some many mistakes in my last entry. I didn’t double check. I meant at the end of that, that money ISN’T everything. Not is XD

  32. Lisa Says:

@Josh C – she complained about getting in the tent AGAIN last night on twitter – something about meeting beautiful women in Uganda but not looking forward to the tent – she truly means it…
I actually LOVE her but I also like to stick w/facts.

  33. Jennie Says:

I truely belive jessica’s bad luck stems back to her failed marraige, nick truley loved her and when the newlyweds exploded she was looking for bigger and better things. also considering her virginal status when she got married she was never able to sow her wild oats, since the breakup she has had nothing but bad luck ever since

  34. Heather Says:

The girl needs a witch doctor or soemthing to get rid of her bad luck.

  35. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

    @Heather — For real!! LOL

  36. That Girl Says:

she doesn’t “have” to live like that. The other option is for her to forgo the bednets and get malaria.

  37. LoLo Says:

I agree Jennie. She is such a drama queen. You didn’t have to “know her” to see that she was completely smothering her ex Tony. And she was rude to Nick and took him for granted. Its sad about her dog but other than that I haven’t seen anything happen to her that she didn’t deserve. Example: going on a country tour when she didn’t even know the words to her own songs? She needs to figure out what she wants to achieve and then.. FOCUS.
