Mariah Carey Performs At The Pearl Inside The Palms Hotel & Casino
Mariah Carey, who will be dropping her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel at the end of this month, performed her first of a string of concerts at The Pearl theater inside the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV last night. Mimi’s mini-residency in Las Vegas is meant to give her fans, or lambs as she likes to call them, the opportunity to hear her perform new music along with her big hits. Here are a few photos from last night’s performance and some deets from the show:

Mariah’s first show in Las Vegas just recently ended, and it was absolutely amazing! Mariah did an incredible job singing the familiar hits as well as songs from the new album … Below is the show’s set list:
Butterfly intro
Daydream interlude
Shake It Off
Touch My Body
Fly Like A Bird
Make It Happen
Angels Cry
Always Be My Baby
It’s Like That
Subtle Invitation
Trey Lorenz – Rock With You (Michael Jackson Tribute)
Honey
Heartbreaker (Remix + Original)
Close My Eyes
My All
Obsessed
Up Out My Face
I Want To Know What Love Is
We Belong Together
I have yet had the pleasure to see Mariah Carey perform live in concert so I cannot offer a perspective but I understand her performance last night was pretty great. I don’t believe these concerts at The Pearl are meant to be over the top productions, I believe the focus is on the new songs and, of course, her singing. I’m curious to see video from these performances … I really wanna hear Mimi perform live, especially her new stuff. I wouldn’t mind see her making her on stage entrance on that swing thing either ;)

I saw Mariah in concert several years ago and she was fantastic. She doesn’t put on over the top performances (a la Britney) because she focuses on the singing. But she sings everything live and it’s amazing!!! :) Wish I could go to one of the Vegas shows, i’m dying for her to tour (to Chicago) once the new CD drops.

I’ve seen Mariah in concert several times and she is AMAZING. She sings so much better live, you wouldn’t even believe it! I really wish I could go to the Vegas shows, but I need to save that money for her tour (hopefully she tours!).

I’ve seen Mariah once in August 2005 and she is truly amazing. She sings everything live and it totally wasn’t over-the-top at all. Her singing is the main focus since, of course, she has one of the best voices, if not the best voice, in pop music. Trent, have you heard the 30 seconds snippets of all the songs on her new album yet on youtube? If not, I highly suggest it. It’s totally reminiscent of her Daydream and Butterfly-era music. Classic Mariah!

You might (and maybe should!) get struck down for covering NIN AND Mariah Carey on the same page… thats like two worlds colliding.

I had the immense pleasure of seeing Mariah at Madison Square Garden in February of 2000, and it remains one of the most amazing concerts I’ve ever seen. You know how she wears ridiculously high stilettos? At the show, her easily-6-inch-high heel BROKE mid-song, and she just kept walking around the stage, singing her songs, until her next costume change when she could change her shoes. She may be a diva, but she really gives her all to her fans when she’s onstage. I was SO impressed by that.

She looks heaps like classic 90’s Mariah here. She’s so sexy that way. Brown & curly. True, original Diva right there people!

Why does she insist on wearing those super tight hoochie mama dresses?! It drives me nuts.
