INSANE! It’s disturbing that they can get away with that “reasoning”. 2009 and still this backward thinking…very sad and disappointing. I feel very ignorant right now because I didn’t realize the severity of “legal”discrimination. Honestly, I thought the right to marry was the large issue but obviously that is a small piece of the big picture.I’m going to check out the Red Cross here in Canada because I want to hear somebody try to explain this BS. Wow.
@MeG: There was a question that said something to the effect of “Have you had sexual contact with another male, even once, since 1977?” I answered truthfully, and there you have it. The Red Cross chica told me that I would be placed on an “indefinite deferral list”. So, I’ve been blacklisted. It’s really put me in a foul mood. I feel like we’re living in the 1950′s or something.
No doubt it has put you in a foul mood, but not everyone is stuck in the past, so hold your head high, its their loss! Thanks for sharing your story because it has really opened my eyes to how serious this issue is.

Whoopi Goldberg is a typical Hollywood suck-up who just wants to work with that pervert. She makes me sick and I went to their message boards and wrote a really excellent message but the bastards moderated it and never posted it. Whoopi can suck it and Polanski belongs in prison for RAPING A CHILD. “Rape-rape” indeed, Whoopi.
Let me make something clear. I also believe Roman Polanski needs to face & accept his punishment for this horrible crime. However, this sight needs to do its research. Rather than copying & pasting some Fox news “story”, you might wanna check your facts. I watched what Whoopi said and she was in no way condoning what Polanski did. When she was talking about it “not being rape”, she meant as the official CRIMINAL CHARGES Polanski faced back in the 1970s. She wasn’t saying it wasn’t rape, just that that wasn’t the particular charge.
