In July we learned that married couple LeAnn Rimes and Deane Sherement were dunzo after it was widely reported that she engaged in an extra-marital affair with her co-star Eddie Cibrian earlier this year. Yesterday, LeAnn made the split official by announcing on her official website that she and hubby Dean are, in fact, divorcing:

“After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage. This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another. Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support – it is deeply appreciated.”
Well ain’t that nice of her to keep her fans in the loop about this development in her personal life. I noted that LeAnn has a section devoted to PHOTOS on her official site and check it out to see what personal photos are on display of her and her ex-husband, now “committed and caring friend” Deane. It turns out that all photos that feature LeAnn and Dean have been removed from the site (save for a small thumbnail photo of the couple under the heading “Miscellaneous”) but a new photo of LeAnn and her rumored paramour Eddie Cibrian has been “Just Added”:
Considering LeAnn and Eddie went public with their relationship last week when new photos of the pair on a golfing date came to light, the switching of Deane‘s photos for Eddie‘s photos shouldn’t be too surprising. While it is sad when any marriage falls apart, I think it’s especially sad when divorce comes on the heels of such public cheating. Sheremet is much better off without his cheating wife … here’s hoping he finds true happiness one day.

I absolutely agree that cheating is unforgivable, very self-centered and disgusting, however I believe that every cheating has a reason.
Apparently the spelling of “Deane” is how his name is spelled on his birth certificate. I read that somewhere.
People reported that the spelling she has there is his given name, and I bet money her representatives typed that, not her.
Cheating is deplorable and LeAnn shouldn’t be flaunting it. I’m sure Eddie’s children will appreciate it when they are older and read all of this.
I thought his name was spelled “Deane” ? I remember seeing it when they were first married and thinking it was an odd way to spell the name.

LeAnn should be cautious because if Eddie was willing to leave his wife(mother of his 2 kids) for another woman, he may do the same to her someday. Actually, I would find it hard to trust in any relationship that originated out of adultry, but thats just me. I would also like to add, without offending anyone, that Deane needs to come out of the closet. I could be wrong, but time will tell.

Sooo.. I know this is only going to spark gay rumours, but I head that Dean has always been gay and that this was a sham marriage.

@Paul I heard that too… who knows if it’s true. They were wayyyy young when they got married. I think cheating is lame and am not condoning it – but… you change a lot from when you’re 19 to 27. & @MeG – you’re dead on! People that think their relationship that started off as an affair is going to make it – are pretty delusional. Once a cheater, usually always a cheater. Good luck to ‘em all.

IDK folks although I don’t condone cheating at all, I do believe that if it is happening there were probably problems in the marriage for a while. There were rumors of trouble between these two for quite some time. And lest we forget it is a celebrity marriage which usually equates to no matter how “perfect” things look on the outside there is usually a lot of turmoil going on on the inside and very few couples make it. Today Leann Rimes and Eddie are under the spot light but it will soon be forgotten. Brad and Angelina anyone or Clare Danes and Billy Crudup (whose wife was pregnant at the time) or Julia Robert and Danny Moder ( I think his wife was also pregnant) Brittney Spears and K-fed (again shar jackson I think was pregnant at the time he switched teams) or for a bit of english flavor Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. It takes two to tango Eddie deserves as much of the blame as Leann R.Hollywood or “celebrity” marriages are not pretty people and I don’t condone cheating but shiz happens…..

I’m with pretty much everyone here.. I dont condone cheating and I would never do that to someone myself as it has been done to me, however, if there is a relationship and there is cheating involved, then there is a reason. We only know what is made public, not what is happening behind closed doors. We are not personally involved in their lives so we dont know the actual true story, just what paps put out there. I do think she is getting a bad name for herself because everyone calls her a homewrecker/etc, yet, the same people tend to over look the fact that Eddie left his wife/children. But yet, its LeAnn getting hit the hardest, as is usually the case (the woman being the bad guy). You also have to remember, she married when she was 19 and 7 yrs (?) of marriage is a long time considering how young she was. I never thought the marriage would last and felt it was only a matter of time (and w/the rumors about him, have heard of troubles before) but still.. We dont know the in/outs of what happened so give her a break!

For all those commenting on the “misspelling” of Deane’s name. The way she spelled it is the correct spelling. Deane dropped the “e” from the spelling in school after a teacher repeatedly mispronounced it as Deanne. This was brought up by several fans after LeAnn started spelling it with the “e” in journals and she filled us in on the above info. As for the photo claims…I was just on LeAnn’s site after reading this and no pictures, with Deane or otherwise have been removed. They have added 4 photos from the filming of Northern Lights which surprise surprise do contain co-start Eddie Cibrian. Personally I think people need to realize that we do NOT know the whole story and the only people that do are LeAnn and Deane and even if we did it is still NOT our place to judge. It is her life …Let her live it!!!!!!!! I for one would rather see them dissolve their marriage and save their friendship rather than to stay together and grow to hate each other. I will always love and support LeAnn and I wish both LeAnn and Deane the best in all of their future endevours.
I agree & to be honest I’d rather them divorce than it getting to a Scott Peterson situation. The likelyhood. of Eddie & Leann making it are slim. I also thought she got married way too young but that’s how it is usually done in the south. This will probably end up being similar to Madonna & the affair with the married baseball player or Sienna Miller & the married guy. It’s just speeding up the envitable which is divorce in an already damaged marriage.
