To each their own i found out with my 1st and i will find out a few weeks with my 21nd. Its a surprise no matter if you find out in 4months or 9months. I will say my sister in law didnt find out convinced herself she was having a girl , picked out a girlie bedroom set and was shocked when my nephew was born

I think it would be ‘fun’ not to know just for the fact that there would be no gender expectations put on the baby before it is even born. It would kind of force gender neutral clothing, decorations, etc.
Although at the same time it would be difficult to not have a gut feeling or wish for what she sex is, and then pissibly be disspointed. I had a friend who was SURE she was having a boy, they had picked out names and bought clothes, only to find out at the ultrasound that it was actally a girl. Imagine if she had waited untill birth to find out!

I don’t want to find out the sex of the baby when I am pregnant. Why bother? It’s much more exciting to find out when the baby is born. Plus, sometimes they are wrong. My SIL was told her first was a girl so everyone bought her girl stuff and then when the baby was born…suprise, it’s a boy! What a waste of everyone’s time and money on girl stuff.

We didn’t find out with our first and it was so wonderful hearing “It’s a BOY!!!!”

We found out with our second because I had a gut feeling she was a girl and I had my eye on this adorable bangle that my unborn baby just had to have ;) I was right, she was a girl.

With my third child, I was on my sixth pregnancy. I had lost 3 after my daughter. NOT finding out the gender this recent time around was not so much about the surprise as it was that I wanted this big ending to a long and heartbreaking journey of recurrent pregnancy loss. My healthy baby girl will be 7 months old tomorrow <3

I don’t know how people can not find out. I couldn’t do it! I think everyone should do what’s right for them, but for me the exciting part was meeting my daughter & seeing what she looked like, finding out the sex was part of the fun of pregnancy! But if they have that kind of restraint more power to them. She really does look awesome.

I did not find out with #2 and it was the best thing EVER. I am always trying to talk people into not finding out because really, why do you NEED to know beforehand? It’s such a great thing to be able to call and say “It’s a girl” and everyones so excited…. as opposed to Oh, so and so had their baby…. ooh yea what a let down. LOL

I absolutely don’t want to know the sex when I’m pregnant – there’s no need! it’s the one thing that I think we should hold out on knowing, otherwise it all just seems so…modern, and impatient. I think we’re so focused on instant-gratification, but there’s no way to speed up the 9 months of pregnancy, so we may as well not speed any of it up!

My sister chose not to find out..It KILLED me! I was dying to know, but once she had my little nephew Nigel, I decided it’s the only way to go..Though if I ever have another one, I don’t know if I’d be able to wait to find out..

I can undestand that she doesn’t want to know the sex of the baby. It’s a great surprise after all of the hard work!
Back in the “old days” when I had my kids we didn’t have that option to find out.
I think Giselle is having a boy too.
