From LA To NYC To MTV VMAs
Woot!! It’s great to be back in the Big Apple again … as you may recall, I was just here a few weeks ago to attend the 4 Nine Inch Nails shows that took place here at the Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and Terminal 5 … twice … and now I’m back for another week of fun. I have to give a shout-out and props to Virgin America for being the coolest, most kickass airline in the US. Not only does their ability to offer wifi make long flights much more enjoyable but pretty much everything about flying with them is a joy … right down to the sexy mood lighting:
Alt rocker Ryan Adams was on our flight from LA to NYC as well … I recognized him immediately and noticed that he was proudly wearing his wedding ring even tho wifey Mandy Moore was not with him :)
My time here in NYC is going to be very bizzy … in a few hours, I’m making my way down to Radio City Music Hall to work the red carpet at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and then I’ll be attending the show:
I’ve been fighting off a cold and it was really hit or miss whether or not I’d be up for going to the VMAs but I’m feeling better today so I’m 90% positive I’ll attend. MTV puts on such amazing parties, I really really don’t want to miss it. I’ll be taking photos from the red carpet and will do my best to send Twitter updates and Twitpics to my official Twitter account HERE so stay tuned and follow all the fun. Tomorrow, I’ll share all my photos and, hopefully, fun experiences from the show :)
The rest of the week is bizzy, too. I’m seeing Hamlet starring Jude Law, Rock of Ages starring Tom Lenk and Kerry Butler and will be meeting up with dear friends along the way … the big event will be David’s birthday party next weekend!! So much going on … I better get to it.

BRITNEY BETTER PERFORM OR SHOW! I think she’s rumored to perform… I’m so nervous! I haven’t been this excited about the VMA’s in a long time! I hope Britney blows Beyonce and Lady CaCa out of the water! TEAM BRIT! Sorry, that was nauseating. hahaha

I am so absolutely pissed! I cannot stand Kanye West! Like it was really Taylor Swift’s fault?! MTV picked the winners. If anything, bad mad at MTV! I am so furious right now it’s actually kind of ridiculous. What a way to ruin her moment! Oh, and the video may not have been good BUT, you know what? Taylor outsold Lady GaGa, Beyonce, ETC.

Mandy Moore’s in London shooting a movie. Ryan Adams is heading to NYC to be the artist in residence at the Morrison Gallery for a couple of weeks, and to do a conversation with Mary Louise Parker at the NYPL.

Can’t wait to read your take on the whole Kanye West/Taylor Swift deal – especially since you were there. I like his music, but wow, he really has no class at all. Also, I don’t think Beyonce’s video was the best of the year. Frankly, neither video was so fantastic and the award could have gone to either one of them and been fine.
Very nice of Beyonce to bring Taylor out to finish her speech. Maybe Kanye will learn something from that. His pathetic “apology” on his blog was quite patronizing. I think that guy needs some therapy or something, he seems to have some real anger and out-of-control ego issues – not a good combo. Was he drunk? Time for rehab. And a real one, not some Lindsay Lohan style celebrity spa rehab. Maybe someone can send him a phone book with the “A” section highlighted.
