First Look: Hilary Duff On ‘Gossip Girl’
E!’s Watch with Kristin blog brings us our first look at Hilary Duff in character as Olivia Burke on Gossip Girl. Here is a new promo pic released by The CW that features Hil D. in her debut ep on the show which will air on October 5:
Here she is! Hilary Duff joins the cast of Gossip Girl as movie star Olivia Burke for the Oct. 5 episode titled “Dan de Fleurette,” and we have the exclusive first look at Duff in character on the set! Duff’s character is assigned to be Vanessa’s (Jessica Szohr) roommate at NYU—their dorm room is the setting of the still above—and through Vanessa, Olivia gets to know Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley). Olivia becomes attracted to Dan, and vica versa. Of course, there’s a twist: Dan is so tuned out to pop culture that he doesn’t realize the girl he’s falling for is a huge movie star famous for her role in a Twilight-esque series of vampire movies. Still, the two college kids manage to make their odd-couple pairing work, and cuteness ensues. Yay!
LOL! Isn’t it amazing that Hilary Duff in character as Olivia Burke looks a lot like Hilary Duff in, well, real life? I’m thinking the fact that the Olivia character is described as “movie star who enrolls at NYU“ will help Hilary’s acting abilities immensely … but, I guess there’s always room for epic failure. I’ll hold off on judgment of her acting skills on GG until I actually see them in action. This is a nice sneak peek tho … hopefully we’ll get to see something more substantial soon.

that outfit is horribly unflattering on her….couldn’t they get more creative then a twilight-esque role? I hate when shows play off whatevr super hot at the moment, forgetting that by the time its in re-runs msot people wont get it.

Ha, she will be perfect on the show. I have never seen a single episode. I don’t think I would like it even thou the whole free world has nothing but good things to say.

ive had my doubt when reading sneaks into upcoming storylines in the past – but gossip girl always comes through! 100% yay!

It’s also a bit of Emma Watson goes to Brown. Remember she thinks she won’t be as recognizable “in the states” in comparison to going to school in England? I will try to give Duff a chance, but yes, she is always playing Lizzie McGuire.

Hm, I don’t know. I have never watched the show, and honestly I have no clue what its about besides a lot of drama(Which is why I don’t watch it ^^;)
But yeah, I’ve never really been a fan of Hilary Duff just because, to me, she seems like someone who always plays the girl that giggles and falls down…a lot. Though I hope this goes over well for her, since she has only been doing little parts since Lizzie McGuire.

friggin’ love how e! refers to her as a ‘movie star’. That’s RICH! but i do luv me some duff, which is all the more reason why i’ll SO tune in to GG when it returns.
