Chris Brown Announces Completion Of His New Album On Twitter

"GRAFFITI!!!! COMIN SOON"
September 6th, 2009

Chris Brown, who is currently in his homestate of Virginia paying for his conviction for brutally assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna, has posted a message on his official Twitter profile alerting fans to the fact that he has completed work on his new album titled Graffiti. But, will anyone be buying it when it gets released? Here is our first look at the (possibly fan-made) album artwork for Graffiti and the full text of Chris’s tweet message:

GRAFFITI!!!! COMIN SOON…. JUST FINISHED IT…HANDS DOWN … MY BEST ALBUM… THATS ALL IMA GIVE AWAY RIGHT NOW..

I sincerely hope this album artwork isn’t the real final mock and is just a fan-made creation cuz the word Graffiti is misspelled. To be honest, I was never a big Chris Brown fan before he revealed himself to be a brutal little monster, so I can pretty much assure you I won’t be picking up this album whenever it gets released. I don’t know that Chris Brown will have much success in the wake of his assault conviction but I suspect there are still many who will support his career, regardless of his brutal actions.

I’m stopping reading your blog today.

  2. nicole Says:

the cd will do just fine…i know alot of people want to see his career go down, but it wont.
and im pretty sure that is a fan made thing, cause that looks like a promo from the last album.
@Kate – you might wanna try that sentence again.

  3. CHASE Says:

I was never a Chris Brown fan before the whole Rihanna thing, either. I’m sure the CD will have moderate success but it won’t be as successful as before. I wonder what the songs will include? “I Don’t Remember Punching My Girlfriend” “Dance Away Thru Da Pain” “When In Doubt, Punch It Out!” “Jet Ski to Contemplate Ur Feelings When U Hit A Gurl” sounds like a hit to me! ~Go Chris~ (!?!?!)

  4. Juneh Says:

    ROFL @ Chase!
    Good one, good one ;D

  5. la princesa Says:

I’ve always been one to separate the person from the music, so chances are I’ll purchase it. If I didn’t do that, I’d miss out on good music.

  6. Alex Says:

He’s just one of those bad people out there who honestly don’t deserve anything they’ve got, it’s a shame he’s such a tool.

  7. Maya B Says:

I think it’s spelled right like it’s meant to sound like fate towards the end. grafate-i get it? lol and let’s go easy with the judgement. we have all lived somewhat screwed up lives, even though our parents tried really hard, and we’ve all been at the receiving end of judgement..so easy with the “little monster” name calling. gaia will be a much happier place if we can all learn to be a bit more forgiving. trent, with your millions of followers (me being on of them) you have got to bring some looooove to this blog baby and you will be bringing love to this world!

  8. samantha Says:

Somewhere there’s a bullet with his name on it. Hopefully it finds its mark, sooner rather than later. Once that transpires, I will experience schadenfreude like never before!

  9. amanda Says:

hahaa look at the album artwork–graffiti is spelled wrong! it’s not “graffati” idiot…hahahaa

  10. Ama Says:

-_-; WOW! Does this boy even think at all? Ever? Or is money the only thought that goes through that special mind of his?

Bleh. I hope this album doesn’t sell at all, or stores refuse to sell it(can they do that?) Maybe then he will realize he should go away for a few years.

  11. Kayla Says:

Dude! I greatly dislike his attempt to emulate Michael Jackson with his military jacket and one glove. like, really, that would be a pretty bold move if this is his actual album artwork…

  12. daniel Says:

i dont give a rats ass what people do in their personal lives. if the music is good i will buy it, doesnt mean i support people or their actions. with you is one of my fave songs..meh.

  13. Violet Says:

    @maya B

i agree with you… everyone makes mistakes, and has stupid decisions, you have to learn to forgive, or else then everyone would hate each other in the world.

and plus.. he makes good music.. why not listen to it? because of a stupid mistake that he did
what about michael jackson… there was rumours out there that he was a child molester .. people still listened to him, because he had good music.
people are really closed minded sometimes..

  14. hb Says:

everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance!!!

  15. Brittny Doll Says:

Love to see it flop worse then K-Fed when he released his album.

  16. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@hb — Forgiven is earned when punishment is paid in full. Chris Brown is still far from having earned forgiveness, in my book.

  17. Brenna Says:

I hope the people who want his music download it illegally and everyone else just ignores him.

  18. Diana Says:

I don’t think it’s up to us to forgive him. It’s up to Rihanna, his family, her family, their friends, etc… I also agree, if most of us had all the little details of our lives spilled out to the public, we would all be equally “hated”. I’m not defending what he did, it was horrible and totally unacceptable and he’s a lucky SOB he’s getting away with it so easily, but hopefully he will learn and get a second chance at life.

  19. Sara Says:

I think when you have chosen a career that is in the public eye you should not be surprised that when you do something really horrible people get mad at you for it. It may not be our business, but they give us all the info like it is with all their public statements and news updates and such. It’s hard not to feel something when you hear about the situation with Rihanna. If I really liked his music I would probably still get it but I’ve never been that impressed by it anyway and I’m sure I won’t start now.

  20. rudy Says:

    fuck Chris”woman abusive” Brown

  21. Ella Says:

anyone who wants his music should just download it illegally. then you can enjoy the music without supporting his violence.
… and yeah everyone makes mistakes, but let’s not pretend that punching your girlfriend in the face and choking her until she’s unconscious is on par with the kinds of mistakes everyone makes.

  22. Ash Says:

I think someone is getting a lil too much personally emotionally involved into this. I mean I dont condone Chis’ behavior whatsever, I dont even like him, but it seems as tho some ppl have a vendetta against him. ITs not up to YOU people to forgive him, its up to Rihanna. If you dont wanna supporst him, then dont listen to him or dont buy his music. BUt dont hate on somebody if they dont have nothing to do with you anyway

  23. Z Says:

He seems like a physically fit young man, I am sure he will be able to get a construction job now that his “music” career is over. It’s called reality.

  24. mike Says:

Forgiveness is rarely dished out, until you yourself are in that position..then it cant come quick enough

  25. Kay Says:

I’m not a fan of Chris Brown’s music but if people want to buy his music, that’s their decision. But I believe violence is never the answer in any relationship so it’s understandable why people feel they don’t need to give him any respect or buy his music. Maybe he only hit Rihanna, but if a rapist attacked someone else besides you, would you still treat this rapist the same as any other person without passing judgment? And like others have said, he gave a public statement, so it’s no longer a personal case…

  26. Em Says:

I will never ever give that woman hater a single penny. I hope that he disappears and never returns <3

  27. meh Says:

argh wat a scumbag. hope his album bombs.

  28. gunnarjet Says:

….I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY : YOU GONNA WORK !

  29. ashley Says:

he is desperate to gain fans back by making a new album, i know i’m not buying one since he is abusive.

  30. Jennifer Says:

anyone else find it funny that the album is named Graffiti, and part of his punishment will be cleaning up graffiti?

  31. Jordan Says:

Great Jennifer I read through all the comments to see if anyone mentioned that and you ended up just writing it up just ahead of me.

  32. Bill Says:

Oh, Trent…you have a funny view on things at times. “Forgiven is earned when punishment is paid in full?” I guess none of us, including you, are forgiven for anything at that rate. And, let’s get real for a minute shall we? A “brutal little monster” is a bit of an overstretch. I know everyone in our mamby pamby culture where sissy boys are revered is completely bowled over by actions such as Brown’s, but you set yourself up as judge and jury over another, thus relegating yourself to the ranks of monsters.

  33. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Bill — No, Chris Brown has his judge and he decided not to stand trial before a jury for fear of imprisonment. The man was convicted of criminal assault on another person, this is not something that I made up … he is now a convict. When he pays his debt to society then he can start earning back forgiveness. How is that view “funny”, Bill?

  34. Lana Says:

I think it’s going to do well. I just have a feeling.

  35. nicole Says:

some of you are saying that he’s only doing this cd cause he’s desperate…but you guys do realize this cd was pretty much half done before anything happened right? you guys didnt really think he’s be gone? he has a job to do. he has contracts with the label to complete.
you guys have to know this cd will do just fine. it may not go #1 like before…but lets just say he wont lose any sleep.

  36. Liz Says:

Lord! Could Chris be trying to be MJ any harder!? The one glove, the military jacket, and the throne. Who is Chris trying to kid. Any chance of him being the next MJ are completely out the window. Team RiRi!!

  37. Kristin Says:

Just wondering, if someone is sincerely contrite (not sure if he is), but just say, “if”, do we ever move on?

  38. Michelle Says:

Here’s what I don’t understand: When did being a fan of someone’s work suddenly mean you are a fan of the person and their actions? Case in point: I’ve been a Michael Jackson fan my entire life, although I will be the first person to admit that the man himself had some serious issues and had completely lost touch with any sort of reality. Yet I was excited anytime he made new music and will continue to be a fan for the rest of my life. It doesn’t mean I supported any of his personal decisions.

Chris Brown hit Rihanna and that is deplorable and horrifying and he was not only punished but is now dealing with the aftermath. Does that make him a good person in my book? Far from it… does it effect me listening to his new album? Absolutely not. I was a fan before this happened and I will be a fan until his music is no longer an interest to me.

I’m a big fan of your blog Trent, but haven’t you said before that there is a difference between liking the artist and liking the person? I think you are graying the lines on this one.

  39. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Michelle — I’m sorry but a convicted woman beater is not worthy of my fandom, graying lines or not, he sucks.

  40. Janelle Says:

@Michelle – Michael Jackson had a disturbing childhood. His brothers would have sex with girls in front of him as a child, his father beat him, he had a hardcore Jehova’s witness mother while being a superstar and sexually idolized by millions of girls/women. He had a mentally disturbing childhood that messed him up, not to mention an addiction.
That kind of life can logically and psychologically explain (though not forgive) his decay later in life. Chris Brown seemingly acknowledges his father’s abusive behavior and appears to have known all along it’s something deplorable what his father had done to his mother, but still acted in this violent manner. They are two very different lives and cannot be compared.

  41. EmJayDee Says:

@Michelle. Michael Jackson was never convicted. Chris Brown was.

  42. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

    @EmJayDee — Exactly, thank you :)

  43. Bill Says:

Trent, forgiveness is not something that is earned.

  44. Susie Says:

Yeah, the who MJ impersonation is a bit much. Kind of desperate if you ask me…but then, I get the sense that Chris Brown is a desperate person. I never cared much for him/his music before, and I certainly don’t care for it now. Maybe one day he’ll grow up.

  45. Susie Says:

Just noticed some of the debate here about Chris Brown’s worthiness, etc.

I totally respect your position on Chris, Trent. I don’t really feel he’s all that worthy myself – but I don’t write a celeb blog, so if you do really feel that way, that he’s not worthy of your fandom – then why not make the decision not create any future posts about him?

I understand that this blog is your job and part of that job must be to stay current and relevant and therefore post about the latest news, even if you don’t like it – BUT, you can still choose what you wish to report.

Posting about Chris Brown, whether you write it in a good light or not, still gives him media attention, which ultimately serves his career in one way or another. I honestly think that if you feel so strongly in your convictions about Chris Brown, his music, etc. – that you should consider standing by your convictions by not giving him more free publicity. Let other people write about / endorse him, it won’t make your blog any less popular or relevant in the eyes of your fans.

    Just my humble opinion.

  46. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Susie — To clarify, I choose to mention things like his new album for the express purpose of offering my opinion on it. I totally see your point but, from time to time, I choose to highlight things not necessarily to promote them.

  47. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Bill — In your estimation, in my estimation a convicted criminal has to prove worthy of forgiveness.

  48. That Girl Says:

A convicted criminal doesn’t have to prove worthy of forgiveness unless he committed a crime against you. This is why convicted criminals try to reenter society and end up repeating because people like you Trent refuse to allow them to work or live their lives. If you don’t like to be judged then don’t judge others. We all don’t agree with everything a person do but that is life. That is why on job applications it clearly states an employer cannot deny a person employment because of their criminal history but we know that rule isn’t always followed. So let’s give Chris a chance, if the album sucks, it sucks.

  49. Ash Says:

This is not the album cover or any cover at all. This photo is from the last album “Exclusive” This picture is a fan made from a blog. LOL!

Also I can bet 99.9% of these posters were never a Chris Brown fan or even bought his album. So it makes no difference to him what you guys feel or not. LMAO!

  50. Michelle Says:

I suppose we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. And I understand fully that Michael Jackson was not convicted and Chris Brown was. However, he has seemingly taken some steps to rectify his behavior and I believe has even showed some signs of remorse. I understand that forgiveness is something that has to be earned back, but again I contest that there is a difference between Chris Brown the man and Chris Brown the artist. Granted, I do think it was fair for Doublemint to pull his endorsement, as he really isn’t in a position to serve as a role model right now, but again i stand behind my conviction that as long as he continues to put out good music I, for one, am going to continue to listen. And hopefully he will also work on his own problems and serve whatever his sentence is and end up coming out of this a better person, which really is something we should all hope for.
