Today has been a bit of a nightmare. I just found out that someone back home in Michigan tried to open new cellphone lines on my accounts and I’ve been on the phone with customer service people on and off all morning trying to get it all sorted out. It feels like such a violation to have someone access your personal information in order to steal from you. I have had credit card fraud happen to me before but when something like this happens … you never get used to it and it never feels good. I’m happy that all the fraudulent activity (to my knowledge) has been curtailed but it still feels really shitty.
Last night I was able to hang out with Darion and Josh for dinner and catching up … so that was nice. We grabbed some grub and then made our way out for coffee and dessert afterward. It was really great getting to spend time with them. I have an appointment this afternoon but being on the phone all day has really put a dent in my work day. I’m gonna try and get as much work done while I can but … blah … it’s just been a pain in the ass. Let this be a lesson, pay attention to your online accounts … you never know when your info could be compromised. It’s a crappy feeling, let me tell you.

Use Life Lock! that is what my family and i have!
Doesn’t it seem worse when it’s someone you know? Good Luck clearing it up.
P.S. Saw your comments in the L.A Times article on Megan Fox………………very cool!!
I am sorry this happened to you. I tried to use a card in LA a few years ago to withdraw money and found my bank had canceled the card due to someone hacking into my accounts. What a nightmare and I thank the bank for canceling my cards. Good Luck.
Sorry to hear it – why would someone do that to someone so nice. Geez, glad you worked it out.
no censorchip shut the hell up. identity theft sucks for anyone it happens to and you are being an ass.
Ugh, same thing happened to my brother a few months ago. But he was lucky and all they were able to do was open a few cell phone accounts that the company shut down immediately and it didn’t affect his credit. Hopefully you will be just as lucky.
@ “No Censorchip” Wow, ever heard of karma??? Let us know how it all turns out when you meet her!
I am so, so sorry this happened to you! This happened to my mum recently, so I know the devestating effect it has on someone. Make sure you check that it was just cell phones they tried to open. My mum lost everything, and I do mean everything. The unbelievably painful part is that it is my brother (her son) that did it to her. I don’t know about the U.S., but in Canada you can red flag your details so that everytime credit is opened in your name, you have to be contacted to see if it is you getting the credit opened. Good luck.
That scares the crap out of me. I’m actually in the middle of waiting for a copy of mine because something weird popped up when I got my own car insurance policy. It really is disgusting how easy it apparently is for people to do this.
