Britney Spears Wants YOU To Design A Shirt For Her
So she can sell it and make $$$ off your hard work

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to design a kickass Britney Spears t-shirt? If so, Brit Brit herself wants you to send in your design to her so that she can sell the shirt on her official website and make money off your hard work. Don’t fret tho, if your design is chosen as the winner, you’ll get a few FREE t-shirts of your own design TO HAVE! Interested? The deets for the contest are below:

Britney is looking for her next hot t-shirt and she wants you to design it! The winning design will be for sale in the Britney Spears Online Store, the winner will receive designer credit and once printed, we will send you a few of your winning t-shirts! Contest submissions will be accepted starting September 14 at 9am PST, ending September 28 at 5pm PST. Britney will pick her favorite design and we will announce the winner on October 5. Enter today for a chance to see your design come to life! Contest details, rules, approved images and entry form are HERE.

To be honest, this doesn’t sound like a fun contest at all. Yes, if you win you can say you designed a Britney Spears t-shirt but there isn’t any mention of a monetary pay-off at all. All Britney does is sit back, pick the best design and make money. All YOU do is work hard on your design and get a few t-shirts. HMMMMM. I’m sure there will be plenty of folks very willing to enter this contest even tho there isn’t much of a prize. Are any of y’all willing to enter?

I’m SO not willing to put in my hard work for no pay-off- what a rip! (even it if it is Britney)

  2. jessica says:

Lululemon does the same thing. Design a product that they think will sell and they give you a free one. ugh.

  3. Andres says:

Sounds like the perfect contest for a lazy performer who lip-synced 99.5% of her last concert. Love her to death, but beyoch is LAZY.

  4. Jaime says:

As a graphic designer (that gets a salary for producing things like t-shirts), spec work is my biggest pet peeve.

It is insulting to our industry (would you ask a bunch of dentists for a filling, then only pay for the best one?), and it usually results in a lackluster design (because any trained designer knows better then to work for free)

I didn’t go to school for 5 years to work for free, but if Britney wants a shirt that was designed by a 14 year old, she will certainly get one. (Have you seen the horrible tattooed sleeved shirts she has for this tour? I’m sure she’s not concerned with the out come anyway.)

    That’s my rant.

Gotta agree with Andres about the laziness (except for that love her to death part). It does seem like a cheap and greedy contest. They should at least give the winner $500 or something! Jaime brings up a good point that they won’t just be getting something from the winner, they will benefit from seeing the work of so many people and could “borrow” some of those ideas in the future. To be fair, this contest probably wasn’t Britney’s idea, but one of her promoters.

  6. CHASE says:

Britney isn’t even involved in these kind of contests. I doubt she even knows she has a Twitter account! I don’t know… I mean, her official website blows hardcore. And all the promos for her ‘Circus’ era suck. I want new Britney with new material and new energy! I find it to be a joke she’s releasing ‘The Singles Collection’ only after two albums! She had GH: My Prerogative. Her team, in general, suck.

John Mayer had a similar contest awhile back…

  8. Chivonne says:

I agree with what everyone else said. This is a horrible idea. Not only will the winner not win anything but there are others that will lose their ideas as well. Design a t shirt and if we like it we get to keep it and give you the very thing you created……….? If I liked the tshirt I made so much I’d just get one made up my self. DUH

  9. ashley says:

This is bad, someone with talent with art could get rip off in the end. May sound like a cool idea, but in the end sounds like you will get nothing for your hard work.

  10. Lulu says:

agree /w Chase… I doubt she evens knows about this.

  11. J says:

omg get over it. if your not gonna buy the shirts or not gonna enter the contest, then stfu – they dont really care about your opinions.

  12. Kitti says:

Well yeah but her company will be the one making the t-shirts so it’s only fair that she gets the money. Besides, if this t-shirt turns out to be popular, the designer might even gain fame from this because he/she will be credited.

  13. Michelina says:

Come on there really should be some type of money involved for the winner that’s just doesn’t seem too cool and I know she can afford the skins!!
I wouldn’t do it just so I can say ” Hey girl I designed that shirt for Brittany Spears” no thanks I am sure the winner will out alot of hard work into their design.
Good luck to everyone who is doing the design!!

  14. greer says:

@ kitti hmmmm not sure how much fame people get for designing music tee shirts…..

  15. Marco says:

@ Chase, you are correct and this is a perfect example of: “Strike while the iron is hot” … they are trying to do as much as possible while they have a good chance of achieving success since she is all high up right now again after a few years. I will make sure to buy The Collections though, I’m her #1 fan :)
