‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ Releases A Movie Trailer
1, 2, Freddie's coming for you ...

Back in July we got our first look at the remake of the classic 80′s horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street and then shortly thereafter (to coincide with San Diego Comic Con) we got to see the first teaser poster from the film. Today My Space Trailer Park brings us our first look at the trailer video for the redux … here are a few screencaps:

Let’s be honest … the original Nightmare is just an untouchable classic film. There is no way any redux will ever be able to take its place or top it … so with that in mind, let’s just not expect the world from this remake. The trailer seems to have all the bases covered but … I dunno … it just doesn’t come close to the original film in my book. The new Freddie‘s voice in this redux is going to take some getting used to … I mean, I’m intrigued by this film but I’ve yet to be blown away. After the jump, check out the video trailer in full to see for yourselves …

Click HERE to watch this trailer on You Tube should this embed does not work for you. Again … it looks OK but I’m still not wowed. I was absolutely RUINED as a kid by Robert Englund as Freddie Krueger. Altho the subsequent Nightmare sequels got really cheesy and not so scary, Freddie wrecked my sleep all the way up to A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Will the new Freddie Krueger do the same? I’m not so sure … what do y’all think?

yeah that song still gets me….but Freddy sounds like that guy from “Slingblade”

  2. Rebecca says:

Original freddy terrifying. This freddy kind of looks like a toad. I will probably still see it though, love crappy teen horror movies. And Katie Cassidy and Connie Britton are awesome.

  3. Elkay says:

Ditto what Kate said! Englund’s Freddy scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid, but I think Jackie Earle Haley is a phenomenal actor and will really make it his own. We all were skeptical of Heath Ledger as the Joker since everyone loved Jack Nicholson, but he blew our minds. I think JEH will do the same.

I’m really not sure about this. I loved the original and I swear I didn’t sleep for a week after seeing it, but I hate remakes. On the other hand the director Sam Bayer is a crazy man with amazing visually stunning music videos. This means either he will do everything possible to make it look great because it’s his film directorial debut, or it’ll suck because up till now he’s maxed out at 3 1/2 mins worth of stunning.
I mean the man has done videos for everyone from Nirvana to Blind Melon, Jesus and Mary Chain, Marilyn Manson, The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Garbage, The cranberries, The Offspring, The Cult, The Strokes, Justin Timberlake, and My Chermical Romance. Not to mention I think he;s done the last 6 Green Day videos, and that doesn’t even cover the commercials he’s done.
I guess I’ll have to wait and see more trailers.

for me, the original is the best.

the one playing the new freddie is better as rorschach

they had me interested…until he started talking…he sounds like a disney character bad guy…

  7. Brenda says:

OMG, I still have a recurring nightmare involving Freddie Krueger that pops up every few years since I was about 10 (I’m 27 now). It’s always Freddie chasing me around my neighborhood. When I was a little kid I used to be afraid to walk up the stairs and go to bed if it was dark just in case Freddie was waiting for me. The first movie was great and a total classic. Freddie got a little too cheesy after that, but I still watched them since I watch just about every horror movie that comes out. I love them.

  8. Jennie says:

After seeing A Nightmare on Elm Street when i was younger i wouldnt go to the bathroom alobe out of fear he would pop out of the toilet and i was also afraid of pool drains for the same reason. No one will be able to replace Robert Englund he is Freddy Kruger

  9. Danny says:

Wow. He is not scary AT ALL! This will make a nice rental when it comes to DVD, I would not pay 10-12 dollars to see this though! It’s sad that Hollywood has to ruin everything that we grew up on and make it over for the next generation instead of coming up with new ideas. Oh yeah, the one new idea they had was Twilight which castrated vampires and turned them into sparkly love pets. The only interesting thing about the trailer is the guy who keeps showing naked flesh, if there is lots of male nudity it will be worth it. The stupidest thing about the remake is I hear they are making Freddy innocent of the child molestation which ruins the whole concept of the film. Freddy is not supposed to be a tragic figure who was wrongly accused, he was an evil human being who became a dream demon.

Hmm..the whole opening had me cheesed out, but I have to agree with you…the original scared the shizz out of me…I’m not sure this can compare. The signature scene was the girl rising in her sleep as she’s being killed. How do you top that? Re-doing it, won’t help make this a “new” reason to watch the flick. hmmmm

  11. Aislin says:

this is pathetic, it’s a crappily redone combination of the first 2 movies. Seriously. Can’t they rerelease the old awesome ones???
