‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ Releases A Movie Trailer
1, 2, Freddie's coming for you ...

Back in July we got our first look at the remake of the classic 80′s horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street and then shortly thereafter (to coincide with San Diego Comic Con) we got to see the first teaser poster from the film. Today My Space Trailer Park brings us our first look at the trailer video for the redux … here are a few screencaps:

Let’s be honest … the original Nightmare is just an untouchable classic film. There is no way any redux will ever be able to take its place or top it … so with that in mind, let’s just not expect the world from this remake. The trailer seems to have all the bases covered but … I dunno … it just doesn’t come close to the original film in my book. The new Freddie‘s voice in this redux is going to take some getting used to … I mean, I’m intrigued by this film but I’ve yet to be blown away. After the jump, check out the video trailer in full to see for yourselves …

Click HERE to watch this trailer on You Tube should this embed does not work for you. Again … it looks OK but I’m still not wowed. I was absolutely RUINED as a kid by Robert Englund as Freddie Krueger. Altho the subsequent Nightmare sequels got really cheesy and not so scary, Freddie wrecked my sleep all the way up to A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Will the new Freddie Krueger do the same? I’m not so sure … what do y’all think?

hmmm… I’m not sure I’m sold on the new Freddie. I agree with you Trent, I was tormented by the original Freddie. He freaked me the hell out!

  2. nicole says:

i dunno if i can watch the trailer lol, Freddie scared the shit outta me haha

  3. Ama says:

hmm this version looks interesting, it kind of looks like it will have a more emotional feel within it. Which may make it scarier, or may make it lame. ((Also Kellan Lutz is in this movie I think XD So I may have to check it out anyways))

I dunno, usually sequels or anything of that sort from horror films are never that scary. Like, the movie Chucky scared me so bad when I was little I stopped playing with dolls all together. but after watching the movie where he had a child it was more ‘humor’ then ‘horror’. So hopefully this movie won’t be the same. It looks good from this trailer though, something about someone being able to attack you in your dreams is pretty scary by itself XD

  4. Melissa Lomeli says:

I will see it just to see Kellan Lutz! Please I have always loved Freddie!!!

  5. Melissa Lomeli says:

    Not please…plus! Lol!

  6. CB says:

I may watch it on DVD, but chances are slim to none that I’ll pay any real money to see this tripe. I’d rather they just re-release the original that scared the crap out of a whole generation in the 80′s.

  7. Jen says:

Yeah, not feeling his voice at all.

  8. Cupcake says:

Hmm…looks pretty good but then again all trailors usually do. I will give this a shot bc. I’m a huge fan of scary/horror films. Let’s hope its worth it!

  9. Cupcake says:

Also: Kellan Lutz is in it? Hell yeah! If he’s half naked during the whole movie then IT WILL be worth it – Hellz Yeah!

  10. Mr. Gyllenhaal says:

I AM NOT FEELING IT AT ALL!!!!

  11. CHASE says:

Why does this movie remind me of Silent Hill? The dream sequences look really weird and in the original Freddy movies it was just basic settings and not out of the norm THAT much. I think the trailer is lacking simplicity in its every day settings that we all associate ourselves in like the original movies… I haven’t seen all of them, though. Michael Bay? Really? EH.

  12. It’s all about the song… that song gets me everytime.

Funny that the trailer focuses on Katie Cassidy’s character – Kris, who had an awesome death in the original……as opposed to the actual lead……Nancy…. portrayed by the hot chick that is not currently starring on Melrose Place (Rooney Mara)

  13. Joanna says:

    NOONE CAN REPLACE ROBERT ENGLUND!!!
This freddy krueger kind of looks like a muppet with the
    short nose, lol!

  14. Shawn says:

I agree Trent..a little intrigued about the remake but nothing will ever compare to creepy Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger..R. England is one of the great kings of horror! The Nightmare series were some of my fave horror movies growing up…let’s hope it’s not a complete let down as the F’13th remake/reimagining was

  15. aimie says:

truly the scariest horror movie villan of all time. i am stoked to see it redone. i HOPE it is great. and from the looks of the trailer i’ll be pleased. here’s to hoping that all the good scenes aren’t in the trailer and the rest sucks!!! lol

  16. Jenn says:

Do you think they have the waterbed scene? To me, it looks like they threw in a bit on Nightmare 2 in there as well. The original was a classic.
Can’t Hollywood come up with anything original anymore.

  17. kate says:

I love Robert Englund. Like, massively. He is one of my favorite horror actors of all time, he brings a great mix of humor and sadism to his interpretation of Freddy Kruger.

HOWEVER, Jackie Earle Haley has proven time and time again that he is one scary guy when he wants to be. He delivers disturbing performances when it is asked of him (LITTLE CHILDREN, WATCHMEN), and I have complete and utter faith in him. So I think that there is room in my heart for two Freddys.

  18. Jessica says:

Freddie doesn’t look or sound scary at all : /

  19. jennie says:

i will not be seeing this. i have been the biggest fan of the all the nightmare on elm street movies and robert englund is freddy. period. nobody can play him. they can’t match is voice, his menacing laugh or his look. this is like the poor man’s freddy. jackie earle haley may be a scary guy but he’s not freddy. those shoes were filled a long time ago.
