Jude Law Helps Jonny Lee Miller With Baby Duty

But presumable not with "baby doodie"
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Here are a few cute pics of Jude Law hanging out with his BFF and fellow actor Jonny Lee Miller as he and another friend took Jonny’s son Buster Timothy out for a stroll in the West Village here in NYC yesterday. As you may recall, Jude is in town to perform Hamlet on Broadway (the show begins previews this week) and it looks like he was spending some of his downtime with his bros … behold:

My guess is that Jude was lookin’ to get reacquainted with baby tips from Jonny now that he’s got a new child on the way … but he prolly should be brushin’ up on his Hamlet, methinks ;) I suppose Jude’s already memorized all of his lines since he just completed his Hamlet run in the West End in England … but still, Broadway’s an entirely different beast. At least it looks like he’s having fun with his bros … and the baby. Hahahahaha … they do make a strange sight, don’t they?

Victoria Beckham Does ‘The View’

"I really feel that with David I've met my soul mate."
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Victoria Beckham, who just showed her third dress collection here at New York Fashion Week over the weekend, paid a visit to the ladies on The View to talk about how fabulous her life is with hubby David Beckham (who, altho he is hot, can’t seem to play golf to save his life). Here are a couple screencaps from VB’s appearance on The View yesterday morning:

Victoria Beckham opened up about marriage, and life with the ‘handsome one’, husband David Beckham, 34, on a US chat show yesterday. Victoria, 35, submitted herself to a grilling from the women on show The View led by Hollywood star Whoopi Goldberg, 53. Looking chic in one of the sold-out dresses from her fashion line – the grey cashmere Giral strapless sheath – she was asked if she still felt sexy after ten years of marriage, to which Victoria said: ‘Yes I still feel sexy. We’re so lucky to have each other. I really feel that with David I’ve met my soul mate. He’s a really amazing father and a really great husband as well, yes I still feel sexy. I go to bed with David Beckham every night, I’m trying.’ Victoria, who is known for her trademark ‘Posh pout’ complained she was sick of being considered the ‘funny’ one in her marriage to David Beckham. ‘Everybody says “David’s so handsome and she’s so funny” – I’m sick of being the funny one,’ she said. Whoopi had personally requested Posh – who is currently promoting the Beckhams’ new fragrance, Signature Story – as a guest but only remembered after the slot was confirmed that she is allergic to scent. So the former Spice Girl was banned from spraying the perfume near Whoopi. The 250-strong audience, who were all given goody bags containing the new fragrance, had to sign a promise in writing not to open the bottles in the ABC studios. Victoria was asked about her signature unsmiling pose in photos, and she said that her mind was elsewhere most of the time she was having her picture taken. Posh said her famous pout was not a conscious move – but that it is just the way her ‘face falls’ naturally. She said: ‘I just think that’s just me. Maybe it’s the way my face falls, I don’t know.’ The singer turned fashionista added: ‘At the end of the day I do what I do. Half the time I’m just doing it, thinking, getting it done, sorting out the kids, you know.’ She also shared her secret of looking so good every time she is photographed at an airport. ‘I think it’s the way I was brought up … when you travel you always look nice. I always have a tracksuit or my pyjamas in my bag, so I go into the toilet – I’m a bit like Superman when I get in there, I put on something comfortable.’

LMAOOOOO about the fragrance … Whoopi may have said she was allergic but what she prolly really meant was, I don’t want no VB stink on me ;) Vicki B. does come across more personable in live interviews than she does in photos. After the jump, check out how personable she was on The View yesterday morning …

Penn Badgley Does ‘VMan’ Magazine

Not Just Another Teen Idol
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Penn Badgley, Gossip Girl hunk and star of the upcoming thriller The Stepfather (due out in theaters next month), is featured in the pages of the new issue of VMan magazine wherein he poses for a few purdy pictures and chats a bit about his status as a teen idol. Here are a few photos from Penn’s VMan photospread along with a few quotes from the accompanying interview:

“I’m not just a teen star idol. I’m not just that.”

“They brought me on to be the awkward sort of confident nerd. In the beginning, they wrote to my ability to stutter very well – it’s a comedic kind of thing.”

“You barely have to be famous for people to scream when they see you.”

“If you look at the lives we’re leading on the show and the lives we’re leading offscreen, I mean, they’re very fucking similar. But it’s not weird, it doesn’t feel incestuous.”

“In certain circles we’re treated like royalty. We’re treated like the Kennedys. We’re never going to be able to separate New York City from Gossip Girl and vice versa.”

“I’ve always tried to distance myself from the character. You don’t want people to think of you as this one guy.”

I gotta say, I wasn’t really wowed by the GG season 3 premiere ep last night … too much of it seemed overly contrived … but I’m sure things will be gettin’ good real soon. As for Penn, I’m happy to see that he is getting his own time in the spotlight … with The Stepfather, he’ll be a star in his own right. I love how the trailer for the film features Penn shirtless as many times as possible … that’s really the right way to market a film to teens ;)

Prince Henry ‘Harry’ Charles Albert David of Wales Turns 25, Inherits Millions

Birthday Lurve
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Birthday lurve goes out today to Prince Harry, our favorite ginger royal from the UK, who is celebrating his 25th birthday. Not only will Prince Harry be receiving lots of birthday cards, gifts and (most likely) a really big cake but he will also be coming into a hefty inheritance left to him by his late mother Princess Diana. Yes, methinks today is going to be a great birthday for his royal hotness:

Prince Harry turned 25 on Tuesday, becoming an even more eligible bachelor as he gained access to part of his inheritance from his mother, Princess Diana. The quarter-century mark denoted a coming of age for the flame-haired prince, who is third in line of succession to the British throne and possesses both his mother’s sense of adventure and her common touch. The younger son of Diana and Prince Charles spent his birthday continuing his pilot training in the Royal Air Force, but he was hardly out of the spotlight. British media ran a flood of pictures, showing Harry’s steady progression from a toddler in short pants to an earnest soldier in combat gear. At each step — with his easy smile and approachable ways — he reminded many of Diana. Other sympathetic images included the 12-year-old boy who walked behind his mother’s coffin to Westminster Abbey and the confident 24-year-old who spoke movingly at a memorial service in 2007 about “the best mother in the world.” “When she was alive, we completely took for granted her unrivaled love of life, laughter, fun and folly. She was our guardian, friend and protector. She never once allowed her unfaltering love for us to go unspoken or undemonstrated,” he said. Harry and his brother Prince William were left equal shares in their mother’s estate following her death in a car crash in Paris in 1997. With inheritance taxes deducted, the estate was valued at nearly 13 million pounds at the time, but its present value has not been disclosed. The Sunday Times Young Rich List — published in April — guessed that Prince Harry and Prince William were each worth 28 million pounds ($46 million). It did not break out how much was related to Diana’s estate. Under Diana’s will, the princes are entitled to all the income from their part of her estate when they are 25 and they gain access to the capital at age 30. William is now 27. Patrick Jephson, who was involved with Diana’s finances when he worked as her private secretary, said the princess’ money was “very prudently” invested and that Harry will also have access to some of the considerable wealth generated by the Duchy of Cornwall, which is under Prince Charles’ control. “Of all the concerns that a young man in his position might have, money is not one of them, and likely never will be,” Jephson said. As a lieutenant in the British Army, Harry’s annual pay is between 29,006 to 32,061 pounds per year ($48,000 to $53,000) … Dickie Arbiter, former royal spokesman and now a commentator, said Harry’s new wealth was unlikely to change his life. “I doubt whether he’ll touch the money because he manages quite well with his Army salary. What does he need to spend it on? Very little,” Arbiter said on Sky News … Prince Henry Charles Albert David was born in 1984, fulfilling what Diana had called her duty to produce “an heir and a spare” … Harry is third in the line of succession to the throne, behind his father and his elder brother. There are precedents for younger brothers to become king, including Harry’s great-grandfather, King George VI who stepped in when his elder brother, King Edward VIII, abdicated. More likely, Harry will fall further back in the line of succession if William has children. Jephson said the young prince went through some rocky patches but is now living up to his parents’ high expectations. “His record of service to the country, both in the army and in his royal duties, would surely make both his parents and his grandparents very proud,” he said.

While it is very true that Prince Harry has suffered a few missteps in the public eye, I think for the most part he is a good kid who grew up into a fine young man. His commitment to the service of his country is commendable and his desire to help the less fortunate (a desire instilled in him by his late mother) is extremely admirable. The young prince may not be perfect but he seems willing to learn from his mistakes and right the wrongs he may have caused. I wish him all the Birthday Lurve today and hope he will get to enjoy many, many more birthdays to come!!

Kelly Clarkson Closes Out The Samsung/AT&T Summer Krush Concert Tour

Performs LIVE at the Hollywood & Highland Complex
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Last night in Hollywood, CA, Kelly Clarkson performed a live concert at the Hollywood & Highland Complex to close out the Samsung/AT&T Summer Kush Concert Tour in front of hordes of fans. My roving reporter and BFF Darion was on hand to attend last night’s concert and he sends in a bunch of fantastic photos to share with all of us. Here are some of Darion’s photos along with his take on Kelly Clarkson’s live performance last night:

Josh and I had the pleasure of attending a live outdoor concert today at the Hollywood and Highland complex in Los Angeles – next to the Kodak theater, where they host the Oscars. We had SUCH an amazing night! It was the final concert in the Samsung AT&T Summer Krush concert tour – and headlining tonight was one of my favorite singers, Kelly Clarkson! They were also taping several songs for Jimmy Kimmel Live! – Set to air tonight, Tuesday September 15th on his show. Samsung/AT&T were there to promo their new Samsung Jack slim mobile phone, and had kiosks set up where you could check it out. Josh and I were set up in the VIP area at the H&H “Babylon Court”, with a great vantage point above the crowds – PLUS an open bar and tons of food! It was kind of ridic. Kelly came on shortly after 8pm – and got off to a rousing start with “Miss Independent”! The crowd went ballistic and you could tell there were a lot of hardcore fans there. She then slowed things down with “Already Gone”, then got people jumping with “My Life Would Suck Without You” – which made for such a cool sight! Looking up and down the various levels of the Hollywood & Highland complex, you could see people jumping and singing along on every floor! I had the pleasure of attending Kelly’s last tour through LA for her latest album, and let me tell you – the girl can SING! She puts on such a great show. Josh hadn’t seen her live before, and was blown away by how great she sounds live! Her voice is just amazing – if you get the chance to see her on her tour, GO! There’s no lipsyncing, homegirl has some pipes! Kelly continued with “Breakaway”, “If I Can’t Have You”, and then what she called one of her personal favorites – “Never Again”. Several times throughout the show I thought she was waving to us – but apparently we were standing next to some ‘close personal friends’ of hers. Awww! I still pretended she was singing to me! ;) The acoustics outside sounded great and the crowd was really crazy for her – you could tell Kelly was having fun and she was really playful with the crowd. She ended the concert by performing Since You Been Gone – you could feel the thumping of everyone jumping and going crazy! The concert rocked and it was an amazing night, we had a blast! HUGE shout out to Wendy for setting us up, and Danielle and the Samsung/AT&T crew for taking care of us – and most of all to Trent & PITNB!

Aww … I’m so glad that Darion and Josh had a great time last night. Trust me, if I were home I would’ve deffo been there to see Kelly Clarkson perform live but I’m really happy that Darion and Josh were there to enjoy it for themselves. I have been very fortunate to see Kelly perform live before and Darion is right, homegirl can sing and she absolutely does so live. Much love to Wendy and Danielle from Samsung/AT&T for taking such good care of my friends and love goes out to Darion and Josh for reporting back.

[thanks Darion]

Last night David and I met up with our dear friend Jordan who lives in LA but has been in NYC for the past few weeks on business. Since we hadn’t seen him since he left LA, we had to get together while we were all in town … so we met up for dinner at Westville in the West Village and then made our way to the meat packing district for drinks at the Standard Hotel:

We always have a great time with Jojo and last night was no exception. We all got sufficiently caught up and just had a great time hanging out. The weather here was cool and breezy last night, which was perfect for strolling the streets of the West Village (well, when Jordan wasn’t being a doll to carry me).

Tonight, David and I are meeting up with his good friend Lisa so I’m really looking forward to that … I think we’re keeping things really chill tonight. Weee!
