Here are a few new photos from the NYC set of Sex and the City 2 which continued filming this weekend. In the first photo, we can see that Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) are lunching/babysitting little actress Alexandra or Parker Fong (Lily York Goldenblatt) … and then the ladies leave the restaurant without little Lily. Kristen Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt) was not present in the scene so it looks like Aunties Carrie and Samantha were taking care of little Lily:

Of course, we have no real idea what is going on in this scene … but it is cute to see SJP and Kim Cattrall with the little girl (either Alexandra or Parker) who plays Charlotte‘s eldest daughter. Because the scenes are all filmed out of order, we don’t know what is going on … but it is still fun to see the film being made.

Neil Patrick Harris, who we just saw lookin’ all wet and sexy in the pages of Rolling Stone magazine over the weekend, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of New York magazine. In his coverstory interview, NPH talks about his upcoming stint as Emmy Awards host and also expresses that he and his boyfriend David Burtka would make great parents … even tho they aren’t expecting to become dads any time soon. The cover of New York magazine heralds NPH has “Hollywod’s First (Openly) Gay Breakthrough Star” but I’m really confused why they made him wear lipstick for his coverphoto. Despite rumors to the contrary, Neil Patrick Harris, star of How I Met Your Mother and host of this year’s Emmys, says he and partner David Burtka and are not expecting a child – yet. Still, “We’d make very good parents,” Harris, 36, tells New York Magazine. And they’re already making one very good couple. “We yin and yang very well,” he tells the magazine. “I’m just bowled over by him. I’m his forever protector, and I’m happiest when he’s happy.” But coming to terms with his sexuality in Hollywood wasn’t always so easy for the former child star of Doogie Howser, M.D. “I tried … dating different girls, being the funny, witty guy at the party,” he says. One person that helped inspire him? A gay Real World cast member. Danny Roberts, of The Real World: New Orleans, “was a unique entity at the time, as someone who was seemingly so confident in their own skin,” says Harris. As host of this year’s Emmy Awards, Harris jokes that he hoped to include the Muppets – specifically Statler and Waldorf up in the balcony – in the opening number. And while that plan didn’t pan out, the actor jokes, with self-mocking air quotes, that he’ll make this year’s show the “classy Emmys.” Tune in to the show Sept. 20 to see what he means!

Victoria Beckham showed off the Spring 2010 collection of her dress line at New York Fashion Week this weekend and, as I understand it, the collection was a huge success. Showcasing bold colors and adventurous fabrics and prints, VB seems to be confidently moving her design aesthetic into the true realm of high fashion. Already a favourite with the likes of Elle Macpherson and Dannii Minogue, Victoria Beckham has won universal praise from the fashion community since launching her label two seasons ago. So expectations were high for the launch of her latest collection at New York Fashion Week yesterday in a hip downtown art gallery. The fledgling designer didn’t disappoint, her latest offering braver and more confident than previous seasons. ‘This is my third collection, and I wanted to push myself, but I also wanted to be respectful of my customer,’ she said. ‘I want her to know she can rely on me.’ Featuring bolder colours, sombre-style prints and a more adventurous spectrum of fabrics and cuts, she seemed to have flexed her fashion muscles to fantastic effect. Presenting her spring/summer 2010 collection, Beckham had refashioned her signature fitted dress in a sunny yellow hue. This season’s popular peplum style was pared down in taupe with a geometric cut-out neckline, while another creation – worn by the designer herself for the occasion – played with the proportions of the overskirt, teaming it with a high hemline. A loose silky shift dress in a black, yellow and white print saw her step out of her tailored comfort zone, while formal eveningwear also featured for the first time in the shape of a stunning red silk goddess gown with a cut-out back and black trim.

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards opened up with a touching tribute by Madonna for the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. In what seemed like a semi-off-the-cuff address, Madonna delivered a speech that sought to highlight the similarities that she shared with Michael Jackson in an attempt to outline what went wrong with his life. While some felt that the speech focused too much on her (and, to be honest, I can understand why), I personally feel it was a touching tribute that was very Madonna (right down to the chastisement to the viewing audience that “we abandoned Michael Jackson” with the implication being that we are somewhat to blame for losing him) … and very well suited for MJ‘s memory. Michael Jackson, who was not only one of the most influential forces in MTV’s history but also provided its Video Music Awards with some of its most irreverent moments, got reverential treatment Sunday as Madonna and his sister Janet provided emotional tributes — one through words, one through song. It was a tender, special moment — a rarity for the Video Music Awards. But the mood didn’t last for long, thanks in part to another onstage outburst from Kanye West. Madonna kicked off the show at Radio City Music Hall with a poignant speech about her relationship with Michael Jackson, which began when she was a youngster idolizing the then-child star, then morphed into a friendship when both were at the apex of their careers, and later, grew distant. Madonna lamented the negative publicity that dogged him in his later years. “Sometimes, we have to lose things before we can truly appreciate them,” said Madonna, dressed in black. “Yes, Michael Jackson was a human being, but yes, he was a king,” she told the celebrity-studded crowd, which included Michael’s brother Jermaine and father Joe Jackson. “Long live the king.”

Once Madonna stopped talking about her, she really let her personal feelings about Michael Jackson come to the forefront of her speech and honestly honored his memory. Another MTV Video Music Awards has come and gone and while the focus of the show should be on the touching tribute to the late Michael Jackson by his peer Madonna and his sister Janet Jackson or the coolest performance of the night by P!nk … the focus is, instead, on what an asshole Kanye West is. In true Kanye fashion, West stormed the MTV VMA stage after Taylor Swift won the first award of the night, Best Female Video, after she stunned the audience by upsetting fellow nominees P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. As Taylor Swift was accepting her award, Kanye jumped up on the stage, took the mic from her hand and declared that Beyoncé should’ve won the award because she made “the best video of all time”. Taylor looked crushed, hurt and embarrassed and was not allowed to finish her acceptance speech … Beyoncé looked stunned and embarrassed by Kanye‘s rant as well. The auditorium booed Kanye off the stage, he flipped off the crowd with his middle finger and then was asked by MTV to leave the show. Here are a few photos of the incident:

The MTV video music awards held on Sunday paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson, but was overshadowed by an outburst by rapper Kanye West, who interrupted an acceptance speech by U.S. singer Taylor Swift. West, who is known for his outspoken ways, jumped up on stage while the 19-year-old Swift was making an acceptance speech for best female video for her hit song “You Belong With Me,” beating out singers including Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga. “I am really happy for you,” West said. “But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.” MTV said West, who was spotted earlier on the red carpet drinking alcohol, was ejected from an awards show already known for its circus-like atmosphere. West received loud boos from the crowd when his name was mentioned later in the show.

Kanye was seen carrying a big bottle of booze and was asked by MTV to leave the premises shortly after his rant:

Apparently, Kanye decided to go home and blog an “apology” to Taylor Swift for his outburst … but it doesn’t take a careful reading to understand that it’s not an apology at all:
