Last week we got our first look at Victoria Beckham on the cover of the new issue of Elle magazine … and today we get to see a few photos from her Elle photospread PLUS we get to read a few more quotes from her Elle coverstory interview:

On being separated from husband David Beckham for six months while he was playing soccer in Milan:
“I felt like someone had chopped my arm off, to be completely honest. Everything we do, we do together. I very rarely go out on my own, unless it’s a work commitment.”

On keeping herself busy with TV while David was away:
“I’ve done Nip/Tuck, Brothers & Sisters, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice. Then I got into Gossip Girl. I’m beyond obsessed with that show.”

On the Los Angeles style of dress:
“I find it odd that people will go to a nice restaurant or to theater in jeans and T-shirts. You know, it’s great, David loves it. But it’s very different to my personal style.”

On her ever changing personal style:
“There are celebrities who always look great, always look pretty, but it’s always the same hair, the same makeup, and I find that quite boring. I want to change it up, do something really creative. I think that might be why women like me.”

On whether her look has changed since moving from England to Beverly Hills:

“David and I have a working relationship together, and we also have a private life together. Someone used the example recently of Brad and Angelina. They might be in a movie together, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to let someone film them at home. I don’t do ‘at homes’ with my family. I don’t march my kids down red carpets. It’s just not how we choose to do things.”

On the prices of her own dresses:
“Would I think twice about buying a dress that costs $2,000? Yeah! Of course I would. I’d try it on and go home and think about it before I bought it.”

On raising her children:
“[They] bloody well will work. Same as myself, same as David. They’re not going to be the kind of kids that just hang about. I want them to be able to fulfill their passions, but I think it’s important that the children grow up and have respect for themselves.”

Far and away my favorite quote from her entire interview has to be, “We should just not talk about each other’s boobs.” LOLOLOLOL!!! She may look like a cold, unfeeling robotic animatron from planet Plastic but methinks her creators fashioned her with a pretty capable funny bone. The photos are meh. but the quotes are pretty priceless … don’t you think?

Last weekend we got our first good look at Courteney Cox-Arquette in her return to network TV in her new ABC series Cougar Town … today we get to see more pics of the Cougar in action on the set of her show. It must be, like, impossible for Courteney to ever look bad … ever:

Courteney has always been a beautiful woman but is it just me or has she gotten a lot more sexy in her “advanced” age? I don’t care what age she is, she looks fantastic … and I guess that is the point of her new show. I’m not really all that excited about much of the new TV programming debuting this Fall but Cougar Town is deffo on my list. It’s great to have Mrs. Cox-Arquette back on the scene again.

A Real Housewife of New York City, New Jersey and Atlanta each is featured on the cover of the new issue of The Advocate magazine along with Bravo TV programming honcho Andy Cohen. Cohen speaks openly and frankly with the mag about being an out and proud man in the TV biz, lookin’ very much like the gay Ward Cleaver alongside his Housewives:

“I couldn’t be gayer.” As Andy Cohen makes this proclamation, he couldn’t be prouder. It’s 9:30 a.m., and the Bravo executive is in a seersucker suit, seated in a Sirius XM Radio studio in midtown Manhattan. He’s a guest on The Gayle King Show and has been asked to sound off on Whitney Houston’s highly anticipated comeback, a topic he’s thrilled to discuss. From Madonna to Sandra Bernhard to the ubiquitous Real Housewives his network is churning out, Cohen loves his divas. Tieless, the top two buttons of his lavender shirt left open, his hands circling through the air, he is on. His excitement about Whit’s new album is not unlike that of a 15-year-old girl gushing over the Jonas Brothers at her cafeteria lunch table. Then, as if they were tasked with proving Cohen’s previous statement, he and King start to sing along to Houston’s new single, “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.” Cohen sways in his chair, snaps his fingers, and swings his head back and forth in front of the mike. Watching the silver-haired, impeccably tan, 41-year-old former CBS News producer surrender to his inner pop tart, you’d have to agree — this man couldn’t be gayer.

Ugh .. that’s about all of Cohen‘s interview that I could stomach, if you are interested … you can read the rest of it HERE. While I generally love Andy Cohen (something about his crossed/wonky eye is kinda cute), I find that he tends to really irritate me when exposed to him for long periods of time. His late-night talk show Watch What Happens is kinda painful to watch, mainly because he tends to bug. That being said, the man is a reality TV genius … he consistently comes up with really fun programming that I just can get enough of (The Real Housewives, Top Chef, Tabitha’s Salon Make-over, Project Runway). True, some of Bravo‘s reality programming sucks balls (Miami Social, Millionaire Match-Maker, The Rachel Zoe Project) but overall, Bravo has become THE home of fun and entertaining reality TV. While I feel that Andy‘s fame may be going to his head just a touch, I hope he continues to bring the entertainment … if he starts believing they hype that he’s the star, he may lose his eye for finding great new TV programming. Methinks Mr. Cohen should stay behind the scenes where he’s been more successful rather than in the spotlight where he is decidedly much less of a success.

It’s official!! Whitney Houston‘s comeback album I Look To You is a bona fide hit! Not only did it debut in the #1 spot on the album chart here in the US (as the most successful solo female album of the year) but it also debuted at #1 in countries all around the globe! Here is a new promo pic of our dear Whitney and some info on how well her album did in its first week of sales:

Congratulations are in order for Nicole Richie and Joel Madden on the birth of their second child, a baby boy they have named Sparrow James Midnight! The official announcement was made on Nicole‘s official website but the news was quickly disseminated by Joel on his official Twitter profile. It’s a boy!!

In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009 Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.

Joel tweeted: Geuss who’s back….. Oh i’m sorry we were only having a little baby boy.

I guess it turns out that those rumors we heard back in May about the baby being a boy turned out to be true!! You may recall that we learned over the weekend that Nicole reportedly checked into the hospital to give birth … and at last the Nic/Joel‘s second child is born! Surely this must be a magic baby … he was born on 09.09.09. I can only imagine that the little guy is as cute as his big sister Harlow Winter Kate. Much, much love and congrats to the happy family on their expansion!! XO

Last night was the 3rd of 4 Nine Inch Nails concerts performed here in SoCal on the Wave Goodbye Tour and by many accounts, NIN managed to outdo themselves yet again. Not only was I at last night’s show but I was front and center against the rail and managed to witness the almost 3 hour show from the best “seat” in the house:

The theme of the show was Guest Stars because not only did Gary Numan come out to perform with NIN again but so, too, did David Bowie‘s pianist Mike Garson, Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato, Jane’s Addiction bandmember Eric Avery and former Nine Inch Nails bandmember Danny Lohner … AND, the show opening band Health even came out to perform on one of the songs (making it seem like there were 45 people on stage) — it was a truly fantastic sight to behold. Janet Jackson is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine which features the worldwide exclusive first interview with Ms. Jackson since the death of her older brother Michael Jackson. Here is Janet‘s Harper’s Bazaar coverphoto along with excerpts from her coverstory interview:

Janet Jackson hasn’t watched television since her brother Michael died suddenly in Los Angeles on June 25. She has blocked herself off completely from the hysterical media coverage of his death — who did it, what did it. “It will drive you crazy,” she says. “People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, How’s Obama doing? I haven’t read a newspaper. On top of that, [we've lost] a family member.” The last time Janet saw Michael was on May 14, two days before her 43rd birthday. It was a family celebration, the Jackson kids were running around, and she and her big brother hung out, ate Thai food, and tormented each other. “We had so much fun that day,” she says, her soft voice almost inaudible. “We kept calling each other after and saying how great it was.” Janet left soon after to start work on Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too. She was on set in Atlanta when she got the call that Michael had died. She immediately returned to L.A., plunging headlong into a private family grief served up to a ravenous public. Of course, one of the most moving images from the memorial service was of Michael’s daughter, Paris, who stepped up to the microphone and said, “Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine” before grabbing her aunt Janet for support. “I was really proud,” Janet recalls. “People said to me that Michael’s daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She’s a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They’re with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going.” After the service, Janet and sisters La Toya and Rebbie went to speak to the fans. Janet, who said a brief and quiet thank-you, was greeted with thunderous applause. “I don’t remember that at all,” she says. “I really didn’t want to say anything. I left that night to go back to Atlanta to film.”

It’s no secret that Janet and Michael were very, very close so I can only imagine how difficult his death has been for her. I imagine the ensuing media frenzy that erupted in the wake of MJ‘s untimely and shocking death has made it difficult for her to grieve in private so it makes sense that she would want to plunge headlong into work to keep her head on straight. Filming continues on the NYC set of the sequel film Sex and the City 2 today and we get to see some of the action that is taking place on set. Last week, we saw a few photos of Sarah Jessica Parker in character as Carrie Bradshaw circa 1987 — the assumption is that a flashback scene was being filmed for the movie. Today we get to see photos of Kim Cattrall in character as Samantha Jones flashing back to the 80′s as well … and as you might imagine, Samantha‘s 80′s look is a very interesting one:

LOL!! This is such a great look for Kim‘s Samantha character … I would’ve expected no less than this trashtastic look. It appears that this scene also references a scene filmed for the movie that we got to see earlier this week that featured Samantha flipping off a motorist. I suspect we may see more fun 80′s flashback scenes featuring the other main characters, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York. I can’t wait to see those!!

In just 5 days Oprah Winfrey kicks off the 24th season of The Oprah Winfrey Show with a 2-part interview with Whitney Houston, who you may or may not know is in the midst of making her musical comeback. According to Oprah herself, this interview with Whitney is “the best interview [she's] ever done”. I understand that no topic was off-limits and Whitney opened up like never before. Here is a new promo pic released of Oprah and Whitney together and a preview of what we can expect of Oprah‘s “best interview ever”:

Oprah Winfrey’s upcoming interview with Whitney Houston is said to be a, “jaw-dropping, open, honest and candid” conversation that the daytime talk show queen is calling, “the best interview I’ve ever done.” Winfrey sits down with Houston for a two-day interview starting on Monday, Sept. 14, where Houston discusses her marriage with Bobby Brown, drugs, rehab and how her family saved her. “I think it’s the best interview I’ve ever done. But I guess you’re supposed to let other people say that about yourself. I can’t think of a moment, ever, when I had a stronger connection to the person I was interviewing,” Winfrey said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “My approach to this interview was to not be judgmental in any way, and not to go in trying to get her to say things to make a ‘moment.’ I just wanted to be able to have an honest conversation with her. One woman to another woman. And the day of the interview I literally prayed about that all day long. I just wanted a connection between the two of us. On the one hand, I am having a hard time believing that this interview with Whitney Houston is really Winfrey‘s “best interview ever” and on the other hand, having seen many of Oprah‘s softball interviews, I can see how it really wouldn’t be difficult for any particular interview to be the best ever. While I expect that Whitney will open up and bare her soul, I don’t expect that we’ll learn any stunning revelations. I think Diane Sawyer‘s “Crack is whack” interview will remain THE interview that enlightened Whitney Houston the most to audiences. Best or not, I am very anxious to see this interview in full … the fact that it will air over 2-days is an excellent way to ensure that Oprah‘s 24th season of her talk show kicks off with a bang.
