Here’s hoping you check threads from time to time – especially when no-one is posting anymore because I don’t know else to find out if you read older books or not. Like, from 1989 or not…

I tried emailing you a few weeks ago re: 2 books I read {& if you’d read them yourself} & never received a reply – perhaps it never got to you or you receive so many that there’s no way to respond to them all & still have a life. LOL

So, I’ll try again & check back later. “Lovely Bones” has a theme of the afterlife in which the dead girl can speak for herself (“living”, so to speak) throughout. Anyway, it reminded me of 1 of the books I tried drawing your attention to previously. It was published in 1989 by Meadowland Books & is called: “Some Lovely Image” by Lawrence Quirk… I really urge to read it. It’s absolutely wonderful!

The other book: “dream boy” by Jim Grimsley is a Scribner Paperback Fiction published 1997 {by arrangement} with Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill {copyrighted 1995}.

The Lovely Bones is an amazing book. Be prepared to be laugh and cry….a lot of crying (at least for me)

That is so random… I had a B&N giftcard from Father’s Day left to spend, and I picked up Good Omen’s yesterday and started reading it. Maybe that’s a good omen itself. Read American God’s or Anasasi’s Boys for more Neil Gaiman goodness. You can totally see where Crowley came from.

First, I loved “Good Omens”. May I recommend for your next selection “Forever” by Pete Hamill? I think you might enjoy this book. It was the first book I ever read that made me NOT want to be immortal.

It’s an historical look at NYC through the eyes of one man. It starts in Ireland 300+ years ago and goes up to 9/11/2001. It’s fu*#ing brilliant!
