Proud papa Ricky Martin, who became a father to a pair of twin boys via surrogate mother last August, is showing off his sons Matteo and Valentino on his official website. As you may recall, Ricky debuted his sons on the cover of People en Español last December and when last we saw him out and about with his sons, the family was out for a chilly winter stroll in NYC last January. Here is a new photo of Ricky, Matteo and Valentino posing for photographer Pablo Alfaro in the family’s latest portrait:
He used to live the “vida loca,” but life has slowed down considerably for Ricky Martin since welcoming his fraternal twins, Matteo and Valentino, by gestational surrogate last August. Sharing personal photos of himself enjoying the sun and surf with the boys on his Web site, Martin, 37, says that fatherhood “feels amazing.” “I’m so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing,” Martin says of his 1-year-old twins. “This has been the most spiritual moment in my life.”
He is SUCH a mom! His baby boys are so cute and already one year old … where does the time go. To be honest, with cute kids like these, I can totes understand why he’d be very happy and willing to show them off to the world wide web. They make a cute family … clearly, Ricky is mom enough for the both of them that he doesn’t need a woman in his life. Isn’t that interesting?

Trent, Dammit, I love you but I HATE it when people think that when men are being good Dad’s they are somehow playing the “mom” roll.
As a gay Dad myself (and raised by a single mom), I take offense. Good parenting is good parenting regardless if your male or female.
Those are some really lucky kids to have that much love in their life. Some kids never know any regardless of who their parents are.
Being gay comes with enough challenges as it is, please don’t perpetuate stereotypes.

@RONTEX, I don’t think Trent meant that Ricky’s being solely a mom but playing BOTH roles. A single parent of any gender should take on both roles so the child is well rounded :-)

i’m pretty sure that Trent was just commenting on the fact that he looks so nurturing in these photos! mommy or daddy – whatever… those are just words and labels – not really important – just looks like those 2 gorgeous boys have a loving parent and that is all that matters!
They are super cute. But I can’t STAND it when people let their baby’s hair grow into their eyes. I know it’s sad to cut their baby hair, but enough is enough.

Umm yikes @Rontex – chillax. I think Trent was just commenting that Ricky’s got maternal instincts – and that he’s able to be both Mom & Dad for these kids – which is all they need. Gay/Straight whatev a person is – as long as they have love in their hearts and for their children that’s all a child needs. Enough w/the “stereo-typing” talk – straight parents can suck just as much as gay ones can too.
