Mischa Barton Gets Back To The Party Scene
Mischa Barton ain’t gonna let a little thing like being involuntarily admitted to the mental ward to undergo psychiatric evaluation after it was determined that she was a danger to herself keep her from gettin’ her party on. After making her way to NYC last week to begin work on her new TV series The Beautiful Life, Mischa clearly felt of sound mind enough to slip into a party dress and paint the town red this weekend … behold:
Despite only being released from hospital a few days ago, Mischa Barton is determined to enjoy herself. Sporting a flesh-baring outfit and a smile, the actress was seen partying last night looking the picture of health. But just a few days ago, the 23-year-old was being treated in a psychiatric hospital, after being placed under ‘involuntary psychiatric hold’. Following her release, the actress has made a concerted effort to return to her everyday life. And judging by her choice in outfit, Mischa appears intent on making a statement. The OC star opted for a backless cutaway dress and black and pink Christian Louboutin shoe-boots. The actress was joined by designer Richie Rich and Daisy Lowe, who DJ’d at the Arizona Beverages & Music Unites All Points West celebration in New York. Mischa is currently in New York where she is due to film her new TV series The Beautiful Life … Production for The Beautiful Life, which stars Barton as a drug-addict supermodel, was delayed after Mischa was removed from her home on July 15 amid reports of drinking and drug-taking. The actress was held under Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code – the same code which hospitalised Britney Spears twice in 2008. The section stipulates authorities can hold a person against their will for up to 72 hours if they present a danger to themselves or others, are gravely disabled or suffer from a mental disorder.
HMMM. I don’t really think it’s a good idea for someone in Mischa’s state to spend her free nights partying but, well, here you have it. It’s insane to me that this poor girl doesn’t seem to have a friend or family member in the world to help steer her in the right direction. It’s unreal that a person can go from practically being dragged away in a net to the mental ward one week to partying it up with boozy D-listers the next. I really hope she gets a handle on her life before something goes dangerously wrong. It looks like Mischa likes playing with fire … I just hope she doesn’t get really burned in the process.

I hope she just had a really bad, rare, unusual trip and it didn’t have anything to do with her being suicidal or overdosing. But regardless of what actually happened, if she cared about her image or career at all she would stay her behind at home for at least a week, goodness!

She drank water and left at 10.45 … The word “partying” is way overused in America!! … Attending an event is not necessarily “partying”. Actors cannot avoid the nightlife, if they want to work … it’s part of the job. They don’t have these events at lunchtime. FACT.

@Joanne — The issue isn’t that she “partied”, the issue is a couple of weeks ago she was in a mental ward and this week she’s at an event that provides alcohol (at the very least). Of course celebs attend these events regularly, the question is should a young girl just released from the psychiatric hospital be going out at all so soon after her release.

“a young girl” … she’s not 11, she’s 23 … and more than likely being monitored by people in her life. Not to mention every eye in the room, would have been watching her every move.
