Levi Johnston Insists Marital Problems Led To Sarah Palin’s Resignation
After causing a sensation on the red carpet at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards Sunday evening on the arm of comedienne Kathy Griffin and then causing a stir as the pair walked out of a dinner date hand in hand afterward, we learn that Levi Johnston gave a short interview to RadarOnline to discuss his opinions on why former Governor Sarah Palin quit her job as the Alaska Executive. Earlier this month, AlaskaReport blogged that the Palins are planning to split due for various reasons, not the least of which was marital infidelity on both sides … while Johnston doesn’t make that claim in this new interview, he does insists that marital problems were part of the reason for Sarah Palin’s decision to quit her job as governor — and money was the other reason:
Sarah Palin’s marriage has been in trouble from the beginning, says Levi Johnston, the father of their grandson Tripp and ex-fiance of daughter Bristol. What’s more Levi told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive video interview that he believes marital problems were behind Palin’s decision to resign as governor of Alaska. When we asked if the couple had marital problems, Levi responded: “Oh yeah. There have been from day one.” RadarOnline.com then asked if Levi thought marital problems were the reason she stepped down from political office. Levi answered, “Oh yeah I do.” He didn’t stop there. He also told RadarOnline.com that he thinks Palin will be chasing an even bigger paycheck now that she’s out of public office and on the speaker circuit. “She took the money,” he said. “That’s what she’s talked about, that’s what I’m gathering and I think that’s what she’s doing.” He did add that he did not believe cheating was a factor in Sarah and Todd’s marriage.
While I contend that a 19 year old kid isn’t really the best source for this kind of information, it should be noted that Levi Johnston lived in the Palin home for many months last year and was privy to personal interactions that no one outside the family was privy to. Does the kid look like a famewhore? Yes. Does that mean that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about? No. My personal belief is that he is using true facts that he knows first hand in the hopes that he can parlay that information into a name for himself … Ricky Hollywood, I believe is what he’s going for. I’ve always been of the mind that Where there’s smoke, There’s fire. I don’t expect this is the last we’ve heard from Ricky, er, Levi Johnston … not by a longshot.

This is why we get so few decent political candidates, b/c nobody in their right mind would put up w/ this s***. Honestly, I don’t care if the Palins are having problems. That’s their business. All I can say is, what a shocker Levi & Bristol aren’t tying the knot. Maybe the Palins did treat him like crap but seriously, he’s not showing the most character himself.

Ricky Hollywood should STFU. When his attempts at fame fail and he is trying to get a long with the Palins for his child’s sake, all of these comments aren’t going to be forgotten. It is not right to expose their personal issues to the media just because he was privy to the information. One might think that he would realize by now that people are only interested in the dirt on the Palins, and not in him.

Trent, I’m surprised that you’re giving this kid credibility, when I often see you being pretty fair in believing (or not believing) news depending on the source. This kid strikes me as an attention whore who keeps trying to come up with the most news-worthy Palin dirt for the time (why didn’t he ever mention the marital problem before??) and will do/say anything to hold onto his fading 15min.

Kathy Griffin and Levi Johnston were on Larry King last night and it was an abomination. I use to look at Larry as a credible and respectable source but after Kathy Griffin guest hosted I think he should be ashamed of himself. His good name has been dragged through the mud by inappropriate jokes and Levi’s inability to have a conversation or even read. This guy is an idiot and Bristol and their child are better off without him. I wish the media, this is you too Trent, would just stop giving this buy publicity; he’s a joke.

First of all, the ‘Ricky Hollywood” thing is a horrible name! How lame. Secondly…I just have a hard time feeling any sympathy for Palin when she makes such outrageous and terrifying lies as there being a “death panel” in the health care reform plans. Not only is it a flat out lie, there are probably citizens who are now terrrified for their lives because of something Ms. Palin just invented.
Levi’s comments might not be classy, but at least he isn’t lying to citizens about life and death issues.

I’m very much not interested in the Palin’s Marital woes nor Bristol and Levi’s faulty relationship–What really womps (speaking as a Republican) is that Sarah Palin is fading the heat in politics by being a quitter or at least evading/ running from the fight. It may be that politics in Alaska is a little too much of a ” small town “game that she has decided will Not get her the coverage she would need to get America to vote for her as President somewhere down the line. But, I must say she does not seem to be the kind of stalwart problem solver that we as Americans need — McCane may be too tired to run again but He definitely would have done more to help this country by this date if he had been elected and just sat on his hands – smiling and doing nothing. Just as happened for Helen Keller, this country could use a miracle-worker itself. Maybe Chuck Norris for President- At least everyone would respect Chuck ( at least while they were in reach — Hey , and the guy who threw the shoes at Bush?? ASS -kicked instantly by the US President Himself! We Need a Hero.
Well , we will have to keep looking for the right President to elect in 2012
