I’m probably going to get a lot of flack for saying this but to name Beyonce ‘Woman of the Year’ is completely inaccurate. Yes, I realize her album is doing extremely good and she’s had a #1 hit with ‘Single Ladies’ and that other horrendous movie for she had to fake a ghetto accent. Big deal. I don’t understand why Billboard is so biased against Britney. I know I’m a Britney fan but c’mon! For Britney to comeback like she did and not even get this title just goes to show you how laughable this is. I know Beyonce has a great voice and her show may be better (I don’t know, I haven’t seen it) but it’s a little iffy with me. I’m happy for her, yes, but it’s still whatevs. I’m not even sure if I can take it seriously in the first place if Ciara and Reba were past honorees… Oh, and this is the same ~cool~ people that changed a RULE out of nowhere during “Blackout” just because they didn’t want her to go #1. Blah.
Oh! And Catwoman for Megan? Sounds hot but Catwoman ruined Halle Berry’s career so maybe this will be an upgrade? Hmmm.

@CHASE — just curious, who do you think is Woman of the Year in music this year?
Chase, I think Billboard might have done that because on their charts, Britney has been a hundred of rankings lower than Beyonce for weeks now, even though their cds were released around the same time. Beyonce’s past 3 weeks she has been at 44, 37, 34. Britney has been at 151, 157, 167. Beyonce has been certified double platinum, where as Circus has been certified once. Beyonce currently has 2 cds that are ranked higher on the Billboard 200 than Britney’s cd (Above and Beyonce is at #130).
Since the Billboard Charts are the company’s pride and joy, it makes sense that they would base their decision on chart performance. Beyonce has done far better than Brit in that regard.

I know Nolan has been veering from standard Batman far, but if he goes with the comic relationship between them, I’m going to feel dirty watching it.

@Trent – In a way, I have no idea. I would say Britney just because she’s done such a great job but part of me feels like she’s been lacking a lot on tour. It’s extremely entertaining and everything else. Recently she’s done a great job as far as energy goes and performing but she’s nothing like her old self which is sad to me. If it were based strictly on charts like another user said then Taylor Swift could be applicable but I guess Beyonce does deserve it. But, then again, there’s really no one else out there either. I just don’t really think of Beyonce as influential or a unique style like the article claims. Oh well! Do you think they got it right, Trent?
