Kristen Stewart Fears The Media/Paparazzi Is After Her Soul
Plus more photos from her appearance in 'Dazed & Confused' mag

Yesterday we saw the new coverphoto of Kristen Stewart on the cover of the new issue of Dazed & Confused magazine looking, well, dazed and confused and today we get to see a couple photos from her Dazed photospread. Additionally, we get to hear from the lass herself explaining how she believes that the ever-present paparazzi is after her immortal soul. Uh huh. Dazed and confused alright:

It seems like everyone wants a piece of the “Twilight” cast these days. Ever since they began filming the first movie in the series, the “Twilight” stars have become immensely famous. And with that fame comes all the speculation about their personal lives and the media’s never-ending need to see what the group — especially its leading stars, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson — are up to at any moment of the day. It’s something that Stewart addresses in the September issue of the British magazine Dazed & Confused. And it’s a fitting topic following the photos that surfaced of Stewart and co-star Robert Pattinson getting cozy at a Kings of Leon concert last weekend in Canada. “The fact is, the paparazzi and most interviewers, they want your soul,” she said in the magazine. “It’s so scary because your persona … and I guess I now have one, because people think of me in a certain way … is all based entirely on quick snippets of crazed moments in your life. And that is what people then base their entire opinion of me on!” She added that in those interviews, people can misconstrue what she says in any number of ways. “Anything you say can come and bite you in the ass,” Stewart said. “It’s not even like you say things you don’t mean, it’s just that sometimes they come out wrong.” The 19-year-old also said that when she chooses projects, she’s careful to pick roles that she can relate to. “With ‘Adventureland,’ and pretty much everything else I’ve done, I’ve been lucky because they’re characters I really identified with,” she said. “Sometimes, I’ll read something and it has something about it that makes you need to live it, and if you don’t, it’s like an unconsummated relationship.”

You gotta admit, she’s absolutely right about the way people form opinions based on tiny snippets of her life that are seen from afar. But, because she is a carefully guarded celeb, that is all the public has to go on and the gaps have to be filled in by conjecture and assumption. She’s wise enough to know what’s going down, you’d think she’d be wise enough to understand that nothing about her sitch can be changed. The girl may appear a bit squirrely but I suspect she’s far more normal that most people believe or want to believe. At the end of the day, she needs to just enjoy her fame and fortune cuz it could disappear sooner than she prolly would like … the same goes for any celeb. It would behoove her greatly if she just focused on the blessings in her life cuz her bucket overfloweth these days.

    LMAO @ “Squirrely”

  2. Buckley says:

Funny, for someone not wanting to be seen as a “persona” it seems that’s the very thing she’s creating. Just a different type.

    so true buckley

If you don’t want the attention, please choose another career path.

  5. ohmy says:

Hey Kristen, if you weren’t interested in people sticking their noses in your life, ‘stealing your soul’, then you should have considered a different “career”! It’s not like the paps weren’t around before you became an “actress.”

    Trent i like your attitude

    Whats with the clown costume?

Shes smart enough to realize thats how the industry works, but doesn’t do anything about it except whine.

  8. Chloe says:

I’m so over this little girl. Please can we get a real actress. Love the Squirrley comment…very true…

  9. Chloe says:

When the Twilight Saga is filmed and rapped…this girl is done…She will fade away back to the “D” list.

  10. Shitake says:

So she believes that she is a useless heap of crap? Because that is what Bella is, and if she relates so much to her, then I guess she considers herself one too.

  11. jellybelly says:

I don’t think she is really complaining but just saying that people will think what they think no matter what she says about herself because no matter what she says they formed their own opinion and think they are right. Idk that’s just what I get cause she says she appreciates her job maybe she doesn’t say it enough? Lol maybe she is justine of those people that everything she says comes out wrong cause I know I am:)

  12. Krissy says:

I think people give her such a hard time. They take her quotes, her facial expression when she is just walking down the street, her clothing, everything too far. I agree that she is probably very normal. And not every actress gets this kind of scrutiny. Twilight has made her and Rob magnets for attention much larger than what an actor in a different movie or tv show would get. She is a great actress, and I highly doubt she will disappear after Twilight. She has already been in so many smaller films where character development is the focus…I don’t think she would have gotten those if she didn’t have true talent.

I’m not saying she’s not a talented actress, but when you choose to audition for a part in a series like Twilight, when you know the books are wildly successful, you have to somewhat expect this type of attention. And I think she should understand that as long as she’s getting this attention, people are going to buy tickets. When people cease to care what she & robert pattinson are doing, then THAT’S when she should worry.

This young actress has been in 17 movies prior to the Twilight series and was able to float under the radar, so I can understand why she is a little surprised by all of the attention she’s receiving now. And Twilight wasn’t as big of a phenomenon before it started filming and became so publicized (or at least no one I know who’s obsessed was before they started previewing the movie). I’ve enjoyed Kristen Stewart in many films before and I’m sure after Twilight is over I’ll like her in many more. People give her such a hard time but she’s just a teenager caught up in something she originally thought was supposed to be yet another indie film. She seems like someone who likes the craft rather than the attention, not really her fault she signed up for something so pandemic.

  15. Shakaiya says:

What’s wrong with saying how she feels? People seriously need to lay off the girl.

  16. Tracy says:

I think she is very ungrateful. While so many families lose their jobs and can’t afford to feed their families, she is making millions of dollars from reading words on a page. So she needs to GROW UP and realize she is lucky as hell and if she can’t, step aside and let one of the millions of aspiring actresses appreciate it.

  17. Missy says:

Uh, where in the interview did she say she was ungrateful?? Looks like most of the peanut gallery here, including Trent are doing exactly what she said the media does – misconstrue her words.

  18. jg says:

She is so beautiful and a great actress…. plus, a smart gal too, which is rare in hollywood. I hope to see her in many films to come… she is like this generations’ Audrey Hepbrun:)

  19. You guys suck. says:

I agree with Missy. Nicely said, girl.

  20. Suzanne says:

So many of you jumping to exactly the same conclusions that she is talking about in the article. The media and the haters have labelled her as an ungrateful brat who doesn’t appreciate her fans or what she has.

Those “…..” in the article mean they have left stuff out. Come on peole, who can believe anything that is written these days?

Sadly there are also a ton of articles and on camera interviews where she talks how much she appreciates the fans of Twilight and the opportunities being in the franchise have given her. But no one wants to talk about those interviews.

She seems really low key, not out every night hammered (or if she is, we don’t see photos of it) and just seems to be trying to do her job. Yes she is not the best at interviews, she gets flustered and doesn’t have the standard Disney answer that so many others have. But that is what makes her different.

Obviously she has talent. She wouldn’t have been cast in the movies she has been – with high calibre actors like Jodie Foster, Donald Sutherland, Robert Deniro, William Hurt to name a very few if she wasn’t talented.

Every actor who has worked with her raves about her. Catherine Hardwick flew across the country to audition her. Robert auditioned for the role in Twilight partly because Kristen was attached to it.

I know that those of us who respect her as an actress & think she is a pretty rad chick are beating our heads against a brick wall trying to get many of you to even acknowledge that she is a talented actress who has been totally pidgeon-holed by the press.

What would you prefer – awkward, “squirrely” K-Stew or Miley dancing on a stripper pole? Oh wait. God told Miley to shake her a** at the Teen Choice Awards so that makes it okay right?

    Sorry, long rant. Rant over.
