Gettin’ In The Game
The TV Guide

I flew home from Detroit yesterday evening with only a 30 min. delay … which, believe me, ain’t bad at all. I managed to use my time on the flight to finish The Lovely Bones (which I started last week). Oh man … what a strangely beautiful book. I’ll need some time to process it but it was not what I was expecting. I’m very relieved that I found satisfaction at the end of the story, I was afraid that I was gonna hate the way the story concluded. I’m so curious to see what the movie version will look like later on this year. Great book, thank you so much for all y’all’s suggestions.

I managed to watch the 1984 film Tron on my iPhone while flying home as well. I watched it many, many years ago but the story blew my mind, I had no idea WTF? was going on. Even watching it this second time wasn’t all that easy:

Man, I remember that this movie was so epic when it was released back in the day … truly one of the big sci-fi films of the decade. When I learned that Disney is releasing a sequel film next year titled Tron: Legacy, well, I had to re-watch this film to get caught up. I loved it. I also love the look and feel of the upcoming sequel:

I urge all y’all to watch the first film before you see this one in theaters when it gets realeased ;)

David and I stayed in last night, watched True Blood and I started re-reading Good Omens for The Turtle Party: Book Club. It’s good to be home, even for a short while. My NYC trip will be along shortly.

Tron confused the crap out of me too but nevertheless, you just have to watch it.

Funny thing, I was watching Tron last night too. Not the whole film, mind you, but we were out on the town and one of the bars we were in was showing classic clips from the film. I’ve never actually seen the entire movie, but I want to now.

Trent, on another note, I thought you and our fellow Tori-philes might like to know that she’s going to appear this Wednesday on CBC Radio here in Canada. She’ll be on the show ‘Q’ which airs Mon-Fri at 10am & 10pm (I don’t know if it’s the same airtime in each time zone). You could maybe listen live online or get the podcast. Here’s the website for the radio show: http://www.cbc.ca/q
BTW, this is the same show on which Billy Bob Thornton had his notorious live, on-air meltdown a few months ago.

My big sister took me to see Tron when it came out. I couldn’t tell you what it was about, then or now!

I loved the Lovely Bones…but the ending really didn’t do it for me. The best things in life are more than physical, if you know what I mean. I was really let down because I loved the begining so much.
