Bryce Dallas Howard & Xavier Samuel Bring ‘Twilight’s Victoria & Riley To Life

Filming on 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' is now underway
August 25th, 2009

Bryce Dallas Howard officially stepped into the role of the evil vampire Victoria as filming got underway in Vancouver, BC on the set of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Having gotten the role after the former Victoria actress – Rachelle Lefevre – was fired by Summit Entertainment last month, Bryce and her co-star Xavier Samuel (who plays Victoria’s minion vampire Riley in the film) got down to biz last night filming a steamy kissing scene:

Any last ditch efforts to allow Lefevre to step back into the role of Victoria are now completely dead, as if a stake was driven thru the heart of hope itself. I’m not sure how I feel about this frizzy wig that BDH has got goin’ on … but, well, she has to look like Victoria even tho Summit got rid of a perfectly good actress who actually looks like Victoria. I guess we’ll see how all of this turns out … but it’s officially on now. There’s not turning back … BDH is in the Twilight hiz.

Until she was given the role, ive never heard of BDH. To bad, i liked the original. The look that victoria gives at the prom at the end of twilight is a flawless woman scorned. I hope BDH can pull it off.

    Booo

  3. Harold Handfuls Says:

Dang, yo… Bryce got back! If you look closely, you’ll see she’s got a bit of a ba-donk a-donk…

  4. Heather Says:

This is so lame. I hate when they change actors in the middle of a series. It’s never the same!

  5. j Says:

wow. I hated this from the beginning, but that wig is just full o’ fail.

  6. nicole Says:

as much as i dont like her..and think she’ll suck…im glad they atleast gave her the right hair.

  7. Bleeding Ears Says:

Leave Bryce alone… it’s not her fault she was cast in this suck ass franchise of films. A girl’s got to work, you know.

  8. brenda Says:

I won’t be going to see this movie.

  9. i n f a m o u s l y c o o l Says:

thank god, brenda! your smell would of ruined the movie for everyone around you in the theater.
    .
people need to stop pretending to be all sad they replaced victoria’s actor. nobody even knows who the other girl was that got fired. LOL.. she was in twilight all of 4mins.. and she’ll probably only get 10min in new moon. LOL..

  10. _M_ Says:

    BDH as Victoria = Lame.

  11. Katie Says:

    @ i n f a m o u s l y c o o l… I would much rather take Brendas “smell” over your LOLs

  12. Heather Says:

Rachelle LeFevre as Victoria was good…but just “good.” She played the part well but didn’t really do more than that. Bryce Dallas Howard was great in the other roles she has played…I think she’ll be great in Eclipse too. Honestly I think she’ll be a better Victoria.

  15. chelsea Says:

i dont know why they fired her in the book it said VAMPIRES DO NOT AGE OR CHANGE THERE LOOKS and were going 2 see how the looks have changed

  16. Kitty Says:

It’s a shame, she was stunning. And the new girls ass is massive in those tight pants! (Although I do like her as an actress). As long as they don’t change Rob, Jackson, or Taylor we’ll be okay.

    Kx

  17. i n f a m o u s l y c o o l Says:

Katie, you must suffer from the same problem as that other bish.

  18. od Says:

I don’t know why, exactly, but I was kind of bothered by how big the other actress was- she seemed kind of…manly or something

  19. SummitEffedUp Says:

At least she is only in this movie and we don’t have to see her again.

  20. Erin Says:

    @ i n f a m o u s l y c o o l -

FYI- it’s “would HAVE ruined”, not “would of”. You must suffer from extreme juvenility.

  21. JessicaGiovanna Says:

No, don’t start fighting on Trent’s blog! I love PTNB and usually readers comments are quirky and just add to Trent’s awesome sense of humor. Please, no more fights ppl, don’t ruin my favorite blog! Ppl have diff opinions, get over it, don’t insult each other.

  22. vicy Says:

wow she really does have a big ass o.O
I can’t help but notice these two look really awkward in the shots? Maybe its just because it’s a still image, hopefully Eclipse will turn out well :)

  23. Soly Says:

I understand people being bothered by the fact that they would change actresses in the middle of the series.

That said… Why are people so up in arms about how “amazing” Rachelle was in the first one? She uttered like 4 lines and was in the movie less than 5 minutes. New Moon hasn’t come out yet so we don’t know how she does in that. And honestly, if she had been stellar in New Moon, maybe Summit wouldn’t have been so quick to boot her. But that’s neither here nor there.

I guess I’m just surprised at how up in arms everyone is. It’s not like they changed out Rob P or something.

  24. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Soly — I don’t know that I’m up in arms over her firing but I personally think the studio treated her in a shitty manner, just sucks that’s all.

  25. Bleeding Ears Says:

    Twilight Fans = whiny losers

  26. Chimera Says:

Honestly do the producers of these films think their audience are braindead? I find it kind of insulting that they know the audience is willing to suck down whatever or whoever they put on screen. To start filming the first movie using Taylor Lautner all the while knowing they may replace him for the remaining films is ridiculous. Thankfully they actually showed a little faith in him and cast him again. Now to change the casting of Victoria is again insulting – to both the character and the audience. I think overall their casting decisions haven’t always been good, Peter Facinelli and Nikki Reed for example but changing the actor mid series just shows how little the powers that be at the studios care about the films or their audience.
I am not the biggest fan of the books to be honest, although, I am an avid Vampire genre lover so I was hoping to enjoy the films more than I enjoyed the books but with the bad wigs, casting carelessness and the break neck speed at which they are trying to get them to the theatres I just feel like the people in charge know that this is a total cash cow and they don’t care enough about what they are putting out there because they know the tweens of the world will see it no matter what.
Here’s hoping we are all pleasantly surprised.

Maybe Richie Cunningham paid someone off.
