Britney Spears & Boys See ‘The Little Mermaid’ On Broadway
Britney Spears made her way to NYC, NY this weekend ahead of her performance here of The Circus starring Britney Spears which just kicked off it’s second North American tour leg in Hamilton, Ontario Thursday night. Brit takes the stage at Madison Square Garden tonight but got into town a bit early to enjoy the city. Last night, she took her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James for a performance of The Little Mermaid musical on Broadway … here are a few pics:
Of course, Brit Brit causes a sensation everywhere she goes (and last night was no exception) but it’s nice that she managed to endure all of the gawking stares last night so she could treat her sons to a night on Broadway. I understand Papa Jamie Spears was also in attendance at last night’s performance of The Little Mermaid as well, one hopes he was able to enjoy the show as much as Sean P. and JJ presumably did.
Also, in other Britney news, Ms. Spears will PERSONALLY be giving away tickets to tonight’s concert at Madison Square Garden to the lucky person who is able to find a pair of tickets she has hidden somewhere here in Manhattan. If you follow Britney Spears on Twitter, you will be given clues to her hiding spot and if you find it, you will also get to meet Britney herself who will supposedly hand over the tix. Unfortch, I will not be in attendance at tonight’s show (I have tix to see Next To Normal on Broadway instead) but I’m sure her show will be fun for all.

Hope she films it. If she is gonna film a Live DVD for her concert… on American soil anyway, it will have to be Madison Square.

Other venues would have been Staples in LA or MGM in Las Vegas but both dates have been performed. Altho she is finishing the American leg in Las vegas but at Mandalay venue, which is a smaller crowd than MGM & wouldn’t make sense. I mean, her 2001 Tour was broadcase live from MGM so that would have made sense.

It’s either going to be Madison Square or a venue in Australia. Being an Aussie, i hope its here in Aus she films! Her first Aussie tour, cannot believe that, so it would be a total gift to us Aussies to have the pleasure! Unfort i miss out on going to her show tho!

Trent, what are your opinions on a Live DVD? Do you reckon, with the right director, they are able to showcase, what i’ve heard is a spectacular show, into a greater event on your TV?!

@mccraemalcom — I’ll be seeing NIN on Tues and Wed as well so, no Brit for me this time, I’m afraid. I did see it 3 times already, so I think I’m good. @J — I think a live DVD is deffo gonna happen. This show is really spectacular, it will do very well on video. I think you’re right, filming the MSG shows would be perfect for a live DVD.

While I know this post should technically be about Brit – I am instead going to say the Next To Normal is AMAZING and I hope you have an awesome time. Alice Ripley = pure genius in that role.

Oh I was going to see Little Mermaid on Broadway when we were stationed in Upstate NY (husbands Army) and I was planning it and he came home one day and said we were moving. So we couldn’t go. :-( But yay Britney. I hope they had a good time. I really wanted to go! :-D

I’m hoping they film the 2 shows in Vegas, in since its the last stop of the US tour. I know she’s already done Live from Las Vegas, but I don’t think anyone would mind another ;)

@Devin just made me think about Las Vegas again. Being the theme of her concert, Circus & all Las Vegas would be a perfect location for the show. The Show is a Three-RInged Circus Show. Something you wold expect at Las Vegas.

But yes i believe they’re gonna film it at MSG or a few of the Aussie shows. I know Christina filmed hers and titled it ‘Live Down Under’ but she filmed around 3 shows from different cities. ANd i watched some on Pay-TV and turned out so wrong. Calling out whassup SYYYYDNEY!!! and then shouting out to Melbourne a few songs later. Its not like it was informing you of different cities, so it kinda looked embarrassing really.

All i can say is, yes Britney’s dancing is at her best in this concert. If you want her BEST BEST you watch The Onyx Hotel Tour or Dream WIthin a Dream. But from what i’ve seen at YouTube she still looks like she is having fun.
BUT ALSO, i believe whatever night they film, she really needs to go one step further. Get into the choreography a bit more and push herself in the dancing. That’s my opinion thought!

Brit Brit is hiding tickets in NYC? Looks like NIN’s influence rubbed off on her! This is what comes of being in close rehearsal quarters! Hee hee… Funny they are in town the same week!

@Jetsetter23 — LOL! You’re right! I guess some influence did rub off during those rehearsal sessions. I believe TR will be pole dancing at an upcoming show ;)
