Anna Paquin Shows Off Her Engagement Bling
Rock & Stroll

Yesterday we learned the happy news that on and off-screen lovers Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer (who co-star in HBO‘s True Blood) got themselves engaged to be wed … and today we get to see pics of Anna proudly showing off her new engagement bling. Anna took her doggies out for a stroll and very blatantly flashed her new engagement bling to the curious paparazzi:

I mean … I’m happy for Anna and Stephen and all but … I can’t say I’m too impressed with this ring. It looks like a mood ring that someone would buy at a museum gift shop for about $1.50. Unless this cloudy stone is some sort of expensive moon rock, I can’t say that I believe that Mr. Moyer spent much of his hard earned True Blood money on Anna‘s ring. BUT, it’s not the rock that’s important … it’s the sentiment and lurve behind the rock that matters. Again … much love and congrats goes out to the happy couple on their upcoming nuptials. Here’s hoping Anna‘s actual wedding ring is a bit more substantive ;)

Yeah that ring is really ugly. I would be kinda pissed….

  2. Loonytick says:

I like the ring a lot. of course, I’m a big fan if non-traditional engagement rings. I just don’t get the appeal of cut diamonds as the main stone in a ring. They look fine as accents, but I prefer something more interesting as the featured element. My own engagement ring is sapphire.

Anna is beautiful, gap or no gap. Madonna has a gap too. It’s what makes a person unique.

  4. Gaby says:

Does it really matter what the ring looks like, as long as you know that the person giving it to you is the person you want to be with. Im guessing its probably a ring that has been passed along from his grandmother to his mother and now to him….I like the ring its not all that loud like most celebrities

Cupcake: Letterman, Madanna, Elton John, Condoleezza Rice… I could keep going. I bet you think we should be all be blonde and blue eyed. Shes beautiful as is.

Isnt that what an uncut, unpolished diamond looks like btw?

  6. Grace says:

    nm, too glossy

  7. Chella says:

I think the gap in her teeth is very cute it makes her very different, some of us don’t feel the need to look and be like everyone else!!
The ring,to me looks like a pearl its very different for an engagement ring !!

  8. tatiana says:

I think the ring is CUTE. Very unusual, and pretty.

  9. Tracie says:

To all of you saying it’s ugly, or cheap, or whatever: as said before, it might be a family heirloom, but even if it’s not, maybe SHE picked it out. I’ve already picked out the ring I want my bf to give me, and it’s a $25 fake sapphire off of Amazon. If we ever decide to take that step, I would hope that he wouldn’t spend ridiculous amounts of money on it.
Either way, she’s clearly happy with it, and it’s not YOUR ring, so grow up.

I love the ring — I thought it was a pearl and I love the antique-inspired design. Of course, the grainy image isn’t going to improve the opinions of people who might be on the fence about it… :)

In Europe women do not place such emphasis on engagement rings, maybe this couple are more interested in love than possessions. BTW, the engagement rings seen in Europe are often semi precious stones which is much better than the debt American men acquire just to purchase a diamond… Please don’t p*ss on her happiness by being so shallow.

  12. Toni says:

Perhaps it belonged to his mother or grandmother or favorite aunt, in any regard this is completely none of our business. How rude. How uncouth to remark in such a manner in public. Each of you is allowing the supposed anonymity of the internet to make you forget your manners. The ring is as lovely as the affianced’s radiant happiness, Mr. Moyer and Miss Paquin. Many continued blessings for you both.

  13. kellye says:

Dude Vampire Bill could have put a rubber band on my finger and I would have said yes. He’s a hot piece of meat.

  14. Joanne says:

She’s a Canadian/New Zealander …. we are less shallow. If Anna got her teeth “fixed” she would look like every other Hollywood plastic and probably wouldn’t get work … It’s called having ‘character’ and it sets people apart from each other. Why must everyone have matching teeth – that look like dentures?

  15. yeahyeahyeah says:

lol @ kellye!!! and i think her gap is cute, she’s cute. they’re hot. best of luck

  16. FK says:

I think the ring is an opal, and it’s beautiful! I was recently researching the engagement ring history because I don’t want a diamond ring just because everyone else has one, and back in the day an opal was often used. I love seeing something unique. (I actually think it’s prettier too, but that’s just my taste.) Looking at it again, though, maybe it is a pearl. Either way, props for being unique and finding something with personal meaning rather than just following convention.

  17. F says:

@Joanne: I feel the same way! Why everyone wants to have teeth that look like dentures, I’ll never know.

We’re assuming they’re very happy together and in love (by getting engaged), so why does it matter to everyone what kind of ring/stone is on her finger? We should just be happy that they are happy!!!

  18. DJWhoop says:

    looks like a mood ring

  19. rachaf17 says:

the ring looks like a moonstone engagement ring. moonstones are very pretty close up.

  20. Theresa says:

Looks like an Opal to me and as long as she’s happy that’s all that maters. I just got a blue sapphire engagement ring, much prettier then a diamond, more original too!
