Last Sunday night, Britney Spears took her young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James to a performance of The Little Mermaid musical on Broadway in NYC, NY and last night she took them out for another show … this time Shrek the Musical. Here are pics of her happy little fam making their way into and out of the Broadway Theare last night:

Having lived in New York on and off since she was a child, Britney Spears in no stranger to the many sights the Big Apple has to offer. But since arriving in Manhattan for her Circus tour on Sunday, the singer has been hitting the tourist trail with aplomb. Last night the 27-year-old brought sons Jayden James, two, and Sean Preston, three, to see Shrek: The Musical – their second Broadway show this week. After flying in from Ottawa, Canada on Sunday, Britney took her young boys to see The Little Mermaid. Britney is the latest celebrity to bring their children to see the Little Mermaid, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt brougth their four oldest children to watch the production in February, Jennfer Garner brought daughter Violet in April and Katie Holmes checked it out with daughter Suri. Following three back-to-back gigs at Madison Square Garden, Britney was looking forward to the night off with her two favourite boys. Dressed down in a green striped long T-shirt and jeans, the pop star looked every inch the normal young mother as she carried Jayden in and out of the Broadway Theatre. Carrying a green plastic dinosaur, Jayden looked stylish in a pink Gap shirt, jeans and retro Nike trainers. While Britney carried her youngest son, she left a burly bouncer to carry Jayden’s big brother Sean, who looked smarter in a sky blue tank top, T-shirt and jeans.

So cute … and I love that Britney is instilling a love of Broadway in her young sons at such an early age. As some of you may know, Britney got her start in the music biz by performing in musical theater as an understudy in the 1991 off-Broadway show Ruthless! Clearly she has a soft spot for the Great White Way and she wants to ensure that her sons have that same appreciation. Britney wrapped her 3-night residency at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday and makes her way to Boston, MA for her next show tomorrow night. Britney may be always on the move but … she also always makes time for her children.

So … some sort of bet went down yesterday between John Mayer and TMZ on Twitter over a little matter of Mayer‘s arrest in 2001. From what I can surmise, Mayer bet TMZ $25,000 (to be donated to charity) that they couldn’t find his mugshot from an arrest that took place many years ago (his actual tweet challenge read thusly, “Challenge: if Harvey Levin at TMZ can produce my mug shot, I will donate 25k to the charity of his choice.”. TMZ took the bet and started searching … altho TheSmokingGun.com posted the mug shot about 5 minutes before TMZ did, TMZ claimed victory that they did “find” the mug and Mayer agreed to pay up. It turns out that Mayer was arrested on May 26, 2001 in Atlanta, GA for driving with a suspended license (see what I mean about those traffic violations piling up and becoming serious offenses?) and was booked and mug shotted. Because TMZ won the bet, Mayer agreed to pay the $25k which will be split between 2 animal charities. I dunno why Mayer thought that TMZ wouldn’t find the mug shot … even if TheSmokingGun.com beat them to the punch, he should’ve known that TMZ is really good at sniffing out mug shots. At least the money is going to a good cause … so it’s the needy animals that really come out the winners here.

A whole lotta drama went down here in Hollywood, CA last night in the wee hours of the morning at Guys & Dolls nightclub. An altercation that began inside the club, where allegedly Joe Francis (of Girls Gone Wild fame) physically assaulted Playboy model and Brody Jenner girlfriend Jayde Nicole, and then spilled out into the street where Brody Jenner was apparently tasered and Francis escaped. TMZ was there to chronicle all the drama from Jayde and Brody themselves. Here are a few screencaps of instant video interviews with Jayde and Brody about what went down, a photo of Joe Francis (newly released from prison) fleeing the scene and the latest deets from TMZ about the whole matter:

Brody Jenner was in an epic fight outside of Guys and Dolls this morning, with Girls Gone Wild honcho Joe Francis. Jenner just spoke with us by phone. According to Jenner, he and his girlfriend, Jayde Nicole, were at the club celebrating his birthday, when Jayde saw Francis hitting on an ex-girlfriend of his (Francis’), Jenner says “unrelentingly.” Jayde felt he was harassing the woman — whom Jayde and Brody know — and she threw a drink on Francis. Jenner says Francis then pulled Jayde’s hair, punched her in the face and threw her to the ground and began kicking her. Security broke it up and Francis got dragged away — Brody followed. Jenner says he started yelling at Francis and both men were ejected from the club.

Outside the club, Jenner says he tried to get back in to see Jayde but security wouldn’t let him. Jenner then saw Joe, punched him in the face, and then someone tased him and he fell to the ground. Francis left the scene.

The cops — who say a call came in at 2:46 AM for battery — came but no one was arrested. Jayde tells TMZ she will press charges against Francis. Jayde has a black and blue cheek, her face is swollen, she has a bruised left rib and her lower abdomen is sore. Some of her hair also got pulled out.

Lord, what a bunch of bullshizz. TMZ has video of Jayde explaining what happened and, at first, she claimed she merely “bumped” into Francis (to get him to stop harassing her friend) and then he started wailing on her … then her story became she threw a drink on him. Whatever happened, it’s clear that some sort of physicality went down between the two. I imagine that this sort of drama is not the kind that an ex-con would like to attract … I suspect Francis fled the scene so as not to be arrested on the spot. I wouldn’t be surprised if the cops paid him a visit later on today.

Depending on whether or not anyone presses charges, we may be hearing more about this incident soon. And I believe we still need to find out who tasered Brody outside the club. Meh, just a typical Thursday night in Hollywood. Sounds fun, right?
