Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford is featured in the new issue of Interview magazine wherein he gives a mostly snoozeworthy interview but features in a pretty kick-ass photospread. Chace channels Viggo Morgensen‘s character from the 2007 film Eastern Promises in his spread … bouffant and tattoos included:

Nate Archibald, the prep-school poster boy of all things physically right about American youth today, has a terrible father but a family legacy that keeps him afloat in Gossip Girl limos and designer cardigans. Last we saw Nate, he was headed to Columbia University, but not before he and Blair broke up at the prom and he headed off to Europe on a backpacking trip with his former flame Vanessa. Nate Archibald’s real-life counterpart, on the other hand, has an extremely supportive father—and mother for that matter, who during this interview was helping her son move from the apartment he shared with Gossip Girl co-star Ed Westwick to his own two-bedroom in Manhattan’s Financial District—but the 24-year-old actor had no Hollywood legacy to help him coast into the loafers of one of teenage fandom’s dreamiest heartthrobs. In other words, for all his innate good looks, Chace Crawford has spent the past few years working very hard to get where he is today. And this year, the Texas native is refusing to stand still and smile pretty, taking on two projects that he hopes will prove he’s serious about his craft. In the spring he wrapped up director Joel Schumacher’s dark thriller Twelve, in which he plays an impoverished teenage drug dealer who tries to figure out what caused the death of his cousin during the epidemic of a new street drug called Twelve (a drug favored by Upper East Side Gossip Girl types). And after much hoopla over Crawford’s replacing Zac Efron in the upcoming remake of Footloose, he gets a chance to show a little more wild enthusiasm—and breakdancing—than Nate usually summons during those tender walk-and-talk Gossip Girl street scenes. The eternally rich Nate Archibald is slowly growing up, it seems, but Crawford already has. He’s single, still in his early 20s, and he finally has his very own bachelor pad.

Earlier today I mentioned that Britney Spears has made her way to NYC with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James to perform a string of shows at Madison Square Garden starting tonight … and as we should all know by now, where she goes her ex-hubby and current-mooch Kevin Federline and his ladyfriend Victoria Prince go. In Vicky P‘s defense, I should clarify that she wasn’t really waddling herself but she did have to slow her roll so that K-Fat could keep up with her. On second thought, VP doesn’t really deserve defense … she made her bed with The Federline and now she’s got to lie in it … that is, if she can still fit on it. While Brit Brit was taking her boys to Broadway last night, I believe these two were lookin’ for a place to eat a couple of nice dinners … and a glass of water for Vicky. Blech. These moochy twins just irk me to death.

Last week we saw photos of Zac Efron lookin’ all shirtless on a boat in Canada as he filmed scenes for his new film Charlie St. Cloud. Today we get to see MORE photos of the shirtless wonder, this time on land, filming other scenes for said film … behold:

Potentially horrible (and deffo, at the least, worrisome) news for fans of the amazing UK teen series Skins … news today is that MTV has bought the rights to adapt the series for US television which should strike fear and loathing in anyone who has ever watched a single ep of the original UK version. Like it or not, it’s coming to America … in MTV style:

MTV has landed the rights to develop a U.S. version of the award-winning U.K. phenomenon “Skins,” it was announced today by Liz Gateley, Senior Vice President, MTV Series Development. Created by father and son team, Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain, the E4 and Channel 4 series is about a group of British teenagers who are trying to grow up and find love and happiness. Bryan Elsley will be writing and executive producing the U.S. version. In an effort to maintain the original production’s successful model wherein all the stories were written by a group of British teenagers, MTV will similarly join together unknown teenagers to write and star in the series. The producers intend to set the show in Baltimore, Maryland. “‘Skins’ is one of those rare shows that cuts through to its core audience with unusually authentic stories due to the unique writing and casting process that Bryan pioneered. Having personally pursued the U.K. project for almost two years, I am beyond thrilled to bring it to MTV in the U.S. We intend to preserve the authenticity of the British version and are excited to collaborate with the original team to develop stories that will speak to American youth,” said Liz Gateley, Senior Vice President, MTV Series Development. “We are delighted to be making ‘Skins’ for the U.S. and in particular, for MTV who have embraced the show and its ambitions and unusual production process. We are looking forward to talking to teenagers across the U.S. and making a show that reflects their lives in every aspect,” said Charlie Pattinson, CEO, Company Pictures. “Skins” instantly became a critical and commercial hit in the U.K. especially among young adults as it was the third highest-rated show of the year on E4 reaching 1.2 million P2+ viewers and achieved a massive 61% of 16-34 year olds. The series won a 2009 BAFTA Audience Award, which was voted on by the public, and Best Drama Series at the 2008 Broadcast Awards. “Skins” will be produced by Company Pictures, a division of ALL3MEDIA, and Stormdog, the same companies that produce the Channel 4 series in the U.K. Bryan Elsley, of Stormdog, will Executive Produce and write the U.S. version, along with Executive Producers Charlie Pattinson and George Faber, both of Company Pictures.

No, I’m sorry … but I cannot believe that MTV or any other US basic cable network, to be quite honest, will be able to do justice to this show. The thought of a watered-down version just irritates the hell out of me. I look at what NBC did to the brilliant Aussie comedy series Kath & Kim and I wince … I am really dreading a US version of Skins. I hoped and prayed that the show wouldn’t gain the attention of the US market and, well, here we have it. No offense to MTV but their brand of programming will not even come close to the spirit of the original. Only a pay cable network like HBO or Showtime would have the freedom to really do it justice and then, well, I’d still not have much hope. Besides, BBC America already airs a censored version of the original here in the US, there is NO NEED for an entirely new MTV version. This is crappy news. So, to offset, I’m happy to pass along that the 4th season of the original version of Skins has been picked up and will air in the UK next year. Ugh … why can’t MTV leave somethings alone?

I find that I am still trying to wrap my head around last night’s Nine Inch Nails show at Webster Hall here in NYC, NY where the band played the entirety of the masterpiece album The Downward Spiral LIVE for the first and only time. Of the 20+ NIN shows I’ve seen since 1994, I gotta say that last night’s has to be the best … if for sheer content alone. Little did I know when I was going inside the venue last night that I would be among the lucky few NIN fans to bear witness to a truly legendary concert experience:

I realize that this may sound like extreme hyperbolic nonsense, especially to non-NIN fans, but I can assure you, the epic nature of last night’s show will truly be remembered for all time by Nine Inch Nails fans the world over. Whether you were there last night or just heard about it online, it’s all any NIN fan can talk about today (and prolly will talk about for many years to come). It looks like Croatia is really turning out to be the celeb vacation hot spot du jour … last week we learned that Beyoncé and Jay-Z spent some time holidaying off the coast of Croatia on their vacay to Dubrovnik and today we learn that Mickey Rourke has made his way there as well. Here are photos of Mickey soaking his goods in Croatia this weekend:

Mickey Rourke has been lapping up the sunshine and in mucking about in the sea with a mystery woman in what seems to be the new celebrity hotspot. The 55-year-old is in Croatia, where Beyonce and Jay-Z holidayed last week – with the female friend – and everything seemed to be going swimmingly between them. The Wrestler actor looked fit and toned as he helped the pretty girl into the cold water from the rocky beach and then appeared to pull her down in one swift movement so she was swimming. he star is in the country for the Dubrovnik Film Meeting where he is promoting the film. The actor was wearing floral swim shorts during his dip in the sea, and the dog tag of his Chihuahua Loki, who died earlier this year at the age of 18. His female friend seemed to be enjoying lapping up the sunshine in a small black bikini. The pair swam and messed about in the water at the beach of their hotel, before retiring to sun loungers for a drink. During a press conference in Croatia, Mickey wore sunglasses, smoked and told jokes about the filming of The Wrestler.

No word on who the mysterious woman in the black bikini is but surely she was drawn to Mickey‘s tiny shorty shorts … I mean, one look at those babies and you can see how the ladies would be lining up. I, personally, would prefer it if Mr. Rourke wore longer board shorts (or just pants) when next he goes for a swimming jaunt but, hey, homie’s gotta work with what God his plastic surgeon gave him.

Ryan Phillippe was spotted at a local convenience store in SoCal over the weekend lookin’ about as good as he usually does … without his ladyfriend, without his kiddies … just Ryan:

While these photos would prolly be a bit more interestin’ if he were doing something outrageous or if he were wearing little to no clothing, I can’t help but still wanna post pics of him even if they are plain and simple. I was very fortunate to be able to chat with him for a bit last year at an LA screening of Stop-Loss and found him wholly charming and very nice. There’s something to be said about the nice guy … especially one who looks so good ;)

Alyssa Milano and her new hubby David Bugliari, who were married in a small ceremony in New Jersey a little over a week ago, have been spotted on their honeymoon in tropical and very romantic Tahiti this weekend. The happily marrieds were spotted enjoying dinner and conversation at a place called Lagoon on Saturday night:

I assume the couple have been in Tahiti for some time now enjoying their first days as a married couple and may even stay longer. I don’t believe that Alyssa has anything major that she needs to be back home for but perhaps her agent hubby might have clients he needs to return home for. Whatever the case may be, I hope the couple have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy their romantic getaway together.

Chris Pine played a little b-ball with a friend in SoCal this weekend in one of the more interesting alleyways in Los Angeles. While I’m not sure who ended up winning their little game, the photos below show that Chris managed to shoot and score at least once … behold:
